SO NICE, SO RELAXING !!

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I decided to vacation in the U.P. of Michigan and we did some research online for places to stay. We came across Strouble Lake House and we couldn't believe our eyes !! This is a spacious newer home, located on a private lake, only about an hour from the Mackinac Bridge. We immediately made our reservations to lock in the date. The owners, Gary & Trudy met us at the house and gave us a tour of the home. All I can say is "WOW". What a beautiful place inside and out. So clean and inviting and nicely decorated. The view of Strouble Lake from the front of the home is worth a million dollars. There is a fishing boat and motor available to rent and we decided to use it a few days to tour the lake and for some much needed fishing. There was nobody else on the lake all 3 days we were on the water and the perch and catfish we caught entertained us the whole time. We had 3 Loons stay near our boat when we drifted and we also saw ducks, geese and Sandhill Cranes in the area. We made use of the bonfire at night and Gary made sure there was enough wood for our entire stay. We strayed away from the house a few times and made it to Pictured Rocks (boat tour), Toonerville Trolley Tahquamenon Falls tour, The Soo Locks Tour and the Garlyn Zoo. All of these excursions are two thumbs...highly recommend them all, if you are looking for something to see/do while you are in the U.P. After one week of superb "R & R", we can honestly say that this was one of the nicest vacations and places we have been on in a long time. We loved our stay so much, we are already planning our next trip back here (possibly in the fall or next spring). Thank you Gary and Trudy for a wonderful experience at Strouble Lake House !! You are the best !!!

AWESOME PLACE, NEAR SNOWMOBILE TRAILES!

  • 5 of 5
Very nice cabin on the lake. Snowmobile trail close by - you get on the main trail at the gas station in Rexton. The road is not plowed too far past the cabin, so you've got a nice trail ride to get to the main trail with a little side of the road riding near Rexton. Unfortunately we had a wind storm come through and knocked out power so we did spend a night without power and had to find another place the next day. A lot of the U.P. was without power, but Gary was very concerned, helpful and made it right. Would definitely stay here again!

PEACEFUL AND RELAXING!

  • 5 of 5
We really enjoyed our time here! The layout of the house was perfect for the six of us with the two spacious bedrooms upstairs with a bath and the single bedroom/bathroom downstairs. Loved the area off the entry with the bench and shelves. It was a great place to drop all of our beach gear, etc. after a day out and about and just as easily grab it again the next day. The kitchen had everything we needed and morning coffee on the porch? Sigh.......that I REALLY miss! Listening to the loons and sandhill cranes and one morning saw an eagle swoop down and grab a fish for breakfast. The living room area was a little tight for all of us in the evenings, but it worked. We hope to come back!

AWESOME GETAWAY!

  • 5 of 5
My family and I stayed at this property over Labor Day Weekend and had a wonderful time! It was quiet and peaceful, overlooking a beautiful lake. The house was clean and well-stocked with anything we needed, and there was plenty of space for all 5 of us to be comfortable. We rented the boat and went out fishing one day and caught quite a few perch. The location also made it easy for us to make short trips to St. Ignace and Manistique. Gary was very friendly and helpful and we definitely recommend renting this property!

SANDHILL CRANES WAKE YOU IN THE MORNING & LOONS CALLED AT NIGHT

We had a great stay here with our adult children and dogs. Cabin is an hr from Newberry/Oswald Bear Ranch (must see), and Toonerville trolley/riverboat cruise to Tahquamenon Falls. Couple nice little restaurants/bar and well-stocked store 10 min. away west of Cut River Bridge. Dogs loved the huge backyard, but they will be mud puppies, if they like water as the lake has a mucky bottom. Lots of places to hike with the dogs as there are ORV trails and a little-used park a blk away. We liked the firm beds and slept great! Firepit & huge covered back porch overlooking lake were well-used. Very private.

THE REEDS + MILO

  • 5 of 5
My husband, myself and our best friend Milo, had a very nice, relaxing vacation at the Strouble Lake Cottage. The home was very new and had everything that we needed. Gary and Trudy were extremely accommodating and ensured that our stay was quite comfortable. We've stayed in many different cabins in the U.P. and I must say that this place was one of the best. Plenty of room for just the three of us and we were very pleased that we were able to bring our dog with us. The location was just right for many "road trips" that we took throughout the U.P. I would certainly recommend the cottage to anyone, especially families with children. Plenty of bedrooms and baths and a beautiful location overlooking the lake. Thanks to Gary and Trudy!
