The Owner purchased this apartment in 2004

Why The Owner chose Antigua

I bought this property in 2002 as my home. I recently moved back to the UK but didn’t want to sell the house as I visit regularly and like everyone here still love Antigua so started to rent it out as a vacation property.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is really close to the centre of Antigua and in walking distance to all the main sights, restaurants and night life. The house is elegantly decorated yet still extremely cozy and comfortable. The area is quiet, secure and relaxing. The house is very well equipped with all modern conveniences and you will feel at home right away. There is a housekeeper provided to do cleaning and laundry and access to English speaking assistance and travel planning services.

Antigua

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I stayed at Becky's apartment during a week of language school in early March; this well-furnished and comfortable apartment was a short walk from the market and no more than 20 minutes from the far side of Antigua. We loved the quiet, the views of Agua and the upper level patio where we spent every moment we could. Leonor, the housekeeper, was attentive and went out of her way to make sure that we had clothes for her to wash. Can think of only 2 negatives: the stairs without railing might be tough for someone with bad knees or hips, and a bar of soap in the shower would have been a nice touch. We would certainly consider staying in this apartment again if back in Antigua.

Quiet, safe, and clean

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was early in February. The location was great, right on the edge of town. It was very quiet and inside of a beautifully landscaped, gated courtyard. The view from the living room window was of Agua Volcano. The apartment was very well equipped with a book to inform you of the things to do locally. It had answers for all you questions. The only criticism I have is that the bedroom is downstairs and the bathroom is upstairs. Everything else eas perfect. I highly recommend a stay at Becky's apartment.

Perfect size/convenient,safe location

  • 4 of 5

My daughter and I stayed in this apartment for two weeks in January. It is the perfect size for 2-3 people.

Leonora the housekeeper came in every weekday....the place was spotless. The security of a locked gate is great and provides peace of mind. Location is great as well. Easy walk to the central park area and even easier to the grocery store and the mercardo.

The apartment itself is set up with the main living area upstairs (w/small patio off kitchen) and the bedroom is downstairs. There is a sofa bed of sorts in a little area just off the bedroom. This is where my daughter slept. She is a little lightweight young adult and the sofa bed was very noisy (for both of us) every time she moved. She noted that it was also very hard, so after the first week, she slept upstairs on the couch and was very content with that arrangement. The bedroom itself is a nice setup and comfortable.

We love to cook most of our meals, eating out only 25% of the time. The kitchen could be better stocked with cooking utensils. It really does not lack anything, but a small full set of pots/pans/bakeware would be nice. We did request that the knives be sharpened and left them out on the counter except for two. They were extremely dull and we could not even cut a tomato. The knives were taken, but never brought back. Same story with the hand can opener...so dull that it broke. We never did get a replacement after reporting it. Also, we could not light the oven....did not know if there was supposed to be a pilot flame....no matches provided would lead you to believe that there should be a pilot light. There was a "spark" button, but that did not work. Leonora did not know and she and I ended up lighting it with a paper match..... I ended up going out to buy stick matches because they were not provided and are safer than the short paper matches.

A few kitchen stock improvements and a better sleeping sofa bed would make this a 5 star place for me.

We did enjoy our stay so much. Short of the few things mentioned above, I would stay in the apartment again. The condo in the same building (same owner) is really lovely. We have stayed there in the past.

Love Antigua and will continue to visit again and again!

Cute and safe

  • 5 of 5

I loved this little apartment!! A friend and I stayed 4 days and it was the perfect place. Neat and clean with a very nice house keeper that comes in on the weekdays. It is about a 10 minute walk to businesses and a little further to the center of town. We loved making dinner and eating out on the patio. It is a very secure area with a security gate so we felt very safe. If I ever went back to Antigua, which is a very lovely place also, this would be the first place I would want to stay again. I would highly recommend it to any of my friends and family. It was very affordable and friendly. I probably wouldn't recommend it to families with small children though because of the concrete stairs but Becky has another unit she rents out that from what I could tell was very nice also and I don't think it had any stairs. I would say better suited for a couple or as in my case a few friends on vacation together as there is a futon to use that my friend thought was comfortable.

Lovely quiet apartment with a great view

  • 4 of 5

This apartment is in a quiet back road a 10 -15 minutes walk from the centre of Antigua. It is light, clean, well equipped and comfortable. A lot of care has been taken in providing information and the things you need to get the best out of a stay in the lovely city of Antigua. The sleeping area is downstairs and whilst comfortable the room is not as nice as the rest of the apartment, but that shouldn't put you off staying here ... we had a great time thank you.

Fantastic Get away

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay here. We wanted a place for 2 weeks which had internet, and was more than just a room - Becky's apartment was perfect for this. We were warmly greeted with a refreshing fruit basket and basics like coffee and tea, and by the house staff, who came and cleaned everyday except the weekend. The apartment was really bright and lovely and was equipped with internet and all kitchen basics and was a 10 minute walk from the centre of town. The local book of what to see and do was really helpful, as was Heidi, the person who manages Becky's place.
