About Jeffrey Dietrich
We are professional boutique resort owners with properties in Thailand, Panama and South Florida. We spend our year divided in these three locations. If anyone is curious about the resorts we own you can check out the following listings on VRBO; 305227,197870, 368985.
We are nature lovers and spend most of our year in remote locations care taking our properties while bird watching, hiking etc.
I am an amateur naturalist by training and an avid gardner. My wife Alma is a great cook and gardner as well and has a magic touch growing orchids. She is originally from the Philippines.
We like to landscape with fruit trees and native flora that attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. The fruit trees planted at Riverside Bungalow include Lychee, Mango, guava, Longan and Jaboticaba. Unfortunately guests wont be able to enjoy the fruits for a couple more years until they start to bear fruit.
If we are in the neighborhood when guests visit we are always happy to stop by and answer questions, especially regarding names of trees, birds etc you might observe during your stay.
We have full or part time in South Florida since 1991.
Jeffrey Dietrich purchased this house in 2011
Why Jeffrey Dietrich chose Fort Lauderdale
Just minutes from Fort Lauderdale airport, Riverside is a historical neighborhood in old Fort Lauderdale with mature landscaping and older homes. It has the charms of yesterday and walks through the neighborhood under the canopy of old live oaks and Royal Palms is what drew us to the area. Across the street from the RIverside Bunglow are properties that border the New River, a great attraction in Fort Lauderdale. Guests can walk the Riverside Walk which meanders along the New River through down town Fort Lauderdale.
The small bungalow was restored in 2011 and we have designed the kitchen and bedrooms with ample breezeways and many windows. Sparsely furnished
What makes this house unique
Just a 5 minute drive to Fort Lauderdale Beach and a 10 minute walk to down town make this an ideal location. Walking in the neighborhood is delightful because of the mature landscaping and older homes. This neighborhood is an oasis in South Florida where most of the development is new. If you are looking for a charming older neighborhood with character you wont be dissapointed.
Flocks or wild feral parrots can be seen and heard daily from the home. Our neighbors figured out how to attract these birds by hanging feeder high up in the canopy and they have established a feeding area for up to 5 species of parakeets and parrots.
Giant Royal palms and a huge fig tree frame the back yard of the home. The back deck extends from the kitchen into this landscape and is a great spot to hang in the late afternoon.
