The house looks just as it is in the photos and was very clean. It's a good value and we had a great time there! The main level has a spacious kitchen and family room and the pool table which was great with everyone hanging out together. Downstairs is the master which was very spacious. We barely used half the room! Upstairs there are three more bedrooms and each level has its own bathroom. We didn't use the decks that much but there are two of those as well. Oakshores community also has a private marina which makes it very convenient if you have your own boat. Thanks for a good time!
When you walk into the home and the first thing you see is a can of ant and roach spray on the kitchen counter, this should tell you something. There were ants on the counter upon our arrival and every morning. The home has not been updated for a very long time. The furnishings and décor are much older than any of the other homes we have stayed in.
I am a fresh air person and will open windows immediately. ALL the downstairs windows had spider webs in the blinds and around the windows. The place was tidy but definitely lacked attention to detail from the cleaning service. There was 1 roll of toilet paper in each bathroom but there was nothing extra in the cupboards.
The driveway has a dog leg shape and is a two person job for parking your trailer. You must detach your trailer from your tow vehicle to park both of them. The neighbor across the street, who has a straight in driveway, says he enjoys watching renters struggle with the driveway. I can see why.
There are 4 bedrooms with comfortable beds. To sleep 10 people in this house, the other two beds are day beds with a thin futon mattress. Those twin beds were not comfortable and we took the thin mattresses off them and put them on the floor. To sleep 12 people you need to ask for the blow up mattress.
Please be advised that a 14 year old is considered an "adult". This was never mentioned in the contract or in any communications I had with the homeowner until 3 days before our arrival.
The homeowner will eventually respond to any questions you may have, but not quickly.
None of these issues were problems, just merely inconveniences.
We just returned from a very relaxing stay at this very comfortable house on Lake Nacimiento. Although the decor was quite dated and the house shows some signs of wear, the living space more than made up for it. There is a large Master downstairs with walk in closet, large bath with Jacuzzi tub, wood-burning fireplace and a private balcony with hammock and lake view. The middle level has a large open kitchen, small dining area and very comfortable livingroom with another woodburning fireplace and large balcony, lake view and great BBQ. The best bonus is the pool table, which kept us entertained all weekend. The owner was very helpful. Ample wild-life and friendly neighbors. The house is in a gated development, which makes it a bit inconvenient if you have guests visiting. You will need to bring your own towels, sharp knives, foil and plastic wrap. In addition, it is at least a 30 minute drive to Paso Robles. Also, the lake isn't very pretty late in the season due to very low water levels. However, for the price, this is a wonderful house. We would gladly return and recommend it to our friends
The owner is great, the property is adequate and the furnishings are a little dated. Could use a few more flat screen tv's, internet and a up to date sound system (had cassette player & tube TV's that did not work). Overall our stay was great, Naci is a great lake. Make sure you are fueled up and bring enough food, there are no stores or fuel in Oak Shores, closest amenities are 20 mins away. Make sure that you add all potential guests to the list the owner provies because if they are not on the list is it a hassle you don't want you or your guests to deal with.
The best part about this home is the view and the owner who is a wonderful person. The furnishings are a little dated, still had tube TV's and a cassette player. Could use a few more Flat Screen TV's, Internet and a sound system of some sort that is up to date. The most difficult part about this property is the 'Security Gate ' at Oak Shores. We had a large party and when additional guests they practically had to be searched just to enter the property. We are all grown adults and the staff was rude a few times as we had arriving and departing parties throughout our stay. My advice is put everyone who may visit on the list and that should help the mess.
My family and friends had a wonderful time during our stay. Plenty of room for everyone and very comfortable. Beautiful views of the lake while relaxing on the patios. Nice to have the a/c during those hot days! Thanks for the stay!
