A three minute walk to the beautiful beach of Punta Islita. 2008/2009 "Worlds Best" Central American spot.
My family has been coming to Punta Islita for 15 years! We now own a few properties there and spend over three months of the year in our villa. It is a truly special place that we love dearly.
Ideal for families, Casa Luna (house of the moon), is just a few minute stroll on a private beach path. Designed by award winning architect Ronald Zucher (The Four Seasons Costa Rica), the house is a blend of beautiful comfort and natural beauty. It sits on acre of wonderfully landscaped property (papaya and banana tress abound) and looks out on a majestic mountain and a natural growth forest that borders a small river. Hopefully while you're there you will witness, from the huge private outside deck, the moon rise over the mountain hence the name of the house.
The bathrooms have fabulous outdoor showers that everyone loves. The villa furnishings are very unique and truly costa rican made from bamboo and fallen guanacaste trees. There is a queen blow up mattress and two futons in the living room to add more sleeping capacity.
Enjoy gourmet meals, a world class spa, fishing, kayaking, tennis (all available for a fee by guests staying at casa luna) and some of the best uncrowded surfing spots in Costa Rica. Camaronal (an amazing beach break) is just a ten min drive away!) Average water temp is 84 degrees Fahrenheit. average air temp is 85F day and 68F night. Par 3 golf course, in the pristine beauty of hanging orchids, howler monkeys, parrots, toucans, wild macaws (a new addition) all around. Please see the hotel Punta Islita website. Truly amazing place!
This is one of only four recognized sites in the entire world noted as a "Blue Zone" by National Geographic- One of the most healthful places on the globe to live a long happy ilfe. After a week here you will not want to leave. The slow paced stress free environment will keep you coming back.

Fifteen years ago my father and mother arrived in Punta Islita and fell in love with its charm and beauty. Five months later they had purchased a house. Now they own a few properties in Punta Islita, one of which is their private villa. The people who work in the small town of Islita and the hotel are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. The pace of life is slow and stress free. It takes only but a moment to feel like you are on a truly special vacation. We have made life long friends there. And of course there is the natural beauty of the valley and the animals that live there. It is all owned by the hotel so development is limited which is great and a rare thing to find these days. The ocean cove and beach are safe and special.
Wildlife abounds, quiet and peaceful location. ocean breeze and sounds of waves while sleeping.
I stayed here for 3 months! It's hard to find a better word to describe my experience other than perfect. It was a dream come true. The pool and beach are just a 5 minute walk. The hotel is gorgeous. The people are so wonderful. The serenity is everywhere. Staying at Punta Islita and specifically in Casa Luna was the sweetest time my family and I have had together. Thank you so much! Casa Luna will always hold such a special place in our hearts.
This place is amazing. The property is beautiful and well maintained and the house is stunning. The photos don't do it justice. Having the house as a home-base instead of a hotel room raised this vacation experience to another level. While my daughter and I enjoyed the local "adventure activities' such as horse-back riding and zip-lining, we also had lots of relaxed down time just hanging at the house where we could spread out, cook, make a snack, lounge in the deck hammock, etc. The outdoor showers that are on the enclosed balconies of each bathroom are a practical and pleasant feature as well. We saw a family of howler monkeys from the back deck, an upclose experience that wasn't afforded us anywhere else. There are many breath-taking vistas in Punta Islita and the star-gazing is unmatched. The owner of the home was very accommodating and responsive, even stocking the refrigerator in advance of our stay. You can hear the sound from the nearby black sand beach from the deck of the house and the beach is a short walk away. It's the perfect way to start the day as it's virtually private and very peaceful. The people in the village and at the hotel couldn't be nicer or more friendly. This was a stay we will never forget and one we will look to repeat.
Casa Luna is a very comfortable house. Very close to the beach (walking distance) has a gorgeous vegetation around it. Has a great terrace and deck from which you can hear the ocean and the birds singing. It is also a very safe house for babies, as well as a great place for the whole family. Bathrooms are beautiful, you can take a shower in a deck outside of it.
You can also use the facilities of Hotel Punta Islita, which is an exclusive hotel. Islitas´s Village is a folkloric and colorful place, people are warm and well educated.
We loved staying at this house and would be willing to come back many many times!!!
