My husband and I visited Apalachicola in June of 2013 and stayed at the loft; we have been searching for the quintessential Southern town – unspoiled by high-rise condos and chains – we found it in Apalach. We loved Apalach and the loft so much, we leapt at the chance to become the new owners and plan to continue to share the loft with visitors when we are not there.

The former owner is an artist and business woman who expertly renovated the space into the lovely loft you see pictured on the web site. With its exposed brick inside, expansive Cypress woodwork and airy high ceilings, the loft is a welcoming haven for visitors. It has the charm of downtown Apalach right outside its door, but also has privacy with an entry through a charming gated courtyard. Many restaurants and shops in the community have been featured in Southern Living, Coastal Living, and Wine Spectator. But what really sold us is the charm of the local residents. Nice people and genuinely kind with visitors.

Apalach is a walk-around-town with a collection of interesting and quaint shops. We’d be glad to share our favorites when you contact us. Our son will be helping to manage the web site, bookings and correspondences, so feel free to reach out to him and we will be glad to provide more information about both Apalachicola and the loft.

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to buy the loft when it went on the market shortly after we stayed there for a long weekend; we hope you will enjoy the charm that both the loft and Apalach offer. Enjoy -

A unique living experience awaits at YuleTide. Enjoy the airy loft, which looks out on your private courtyard. Walk to award winning restaurants and wine bars. Unique shopping, antiquing, and art galleries await you. World class fishing and wildlife sightseeing all a couple blocks away at the marina.

We enjoyed our long weekend getaway at this charming loft bungalow. It is quaint, well-equiped and artfully decorated in for beach chic. We parked the car and walked or rode bikesto great dining and shopping spots. I highly recomnend Up the Creek for the view and Up the Stairs for finer dining. It was a just short drive to St. George Island and the dunes, wildlife aand beautiful sugar sand beaches of the gulf. The owners were very responsive and everything went as planned.

Sweet!

We spent two weeks in this large loft and enjoyed it very much. Stylish, well equipped, clean and cared for indicate that it is equally enjoyed by its owners. The east facing wall has large windows with a sliding door onto the enclosed, private patio area - perfect for the morning coffee, and just as comfortable too for a fish BBQ for four using the propane grill. The location might seem distracting at first, but the fence, screen and gardens that surround the patio provide plenty of privacy.

The sofa, bed and side chair are quite comfortable, and twin sconces next to the bed are excellent for reading. Basic cable, high-speed Internet and small stereo, washer and dryer all worked well. The photos on the listing were true to the place, which was very well maintained. A private parking space was always available.

Apalachicola, on Florida's 'forgotten coast' is a quaint historic town not at all like your typical Florida destination. Just outside your door you can walk to the harbor, parks, restaurants, bars, gift shops, museums, library, parks and historic homes. The folks are very friendly and you'll have few reasons to hurry. A fifteen minute drive along the coast gets you to the sugar-sand beaches of St. George Island, Cape San Blas and many other coastal destinations for fishing and exploring.

Owner's Response: So glad your stay was a pleasant one, and yes, you are right when you observed that the owners must love the place as well - we do! We were able to grab a few days at the end of February and celebrated my husband's birthday in Apalach. We appreciate your kind words and enthusiasm - do hope you will make The Loft at 44 Avenue E a place you will return to - thank you for being our guests. - The Yule's

Lovely, Quaint Loft in peaceful Apalachicola

My husband and I very much enjoyed our quiet time together at this quaint, lovely loft. We spent four days here, and the accommodations are perfect for a couple. I wish it was bigger to do a girls weekend as it is perfectly located next to all of the great restaurants. We really enjoyed Tamara's restaurant. Chef Danny and our waitress Marjorie were wonderful. We had requested to whole snappers to be fried, and Chef Danny exceeded our expectations. He picked them out for us fresh that morning, and fried them up that evening. Delicious!! The Owl Café was also wonderful. Enjoyed The Owl Tap for a nice glass of wine and watched the Olympics with the friendly locals. We can't wait to come back and try more restaurants.

Owner's Response: So glad you had an enjoyable stay; agree - there are so many wonderful eating establishments in the town and, all within comfortable walking distance. As to a girls weekend: in addition to the Queen-sized bed upstairs in the loft, the couch in the Loft living room is a full-sized pullout; bedding is in the cupboard. The Loft has accommodations for up to four. So something to think about should you want to have a weekend away with the girls. Looking forward to your return -

wonderful place to stay

Yuletide was everything we expected it to be. The other reviewers were spot on. Wonderfully designed and decorated, it is up to date and not tacky. It's the perfect place for a beech vacation when you don't want to stay right on the beech. It is right downtown, which in Apalachicola is a few fairly quiet streets. Lot's of shopping, art, and great food. Owl Café was excellent. Yuletide is a great base camp if you like spending time in outdoor activities, whether fishing, laying on the beech on St George Island, kayaking, hiking, etc. We will definitely be back to Yuletide.

Loved everything about this little hideaway. Right in the middle of town but hidden away and totally private. All the amenities and tastefully decorated. Lovely courtyard. A ten!
