About Sean Yule

My husband and I visited Apalachicola in June of 2013 and stayed at the loft; we have been searching for the quintessential Southern town – unspoiled by high-rise condos and chains – we found it in Apalach. We loved Apalach and the loft so much, we leapt at the chance to become the new owners and plan to continue to share the loft with visitors when we are not there.

The former owner is an artist and business woman who expertly renovated the space into the lovely loft you see pictured on the web site. With its exposed brick inside, expansive Cypress woodwork and airy high ceilings, the loft is a welcoming haven for visitors. It has the charm of downtown Apalach right outside its door, but also has privacy with an entry through a charming gated courtyard. Many restaurants and shops in the community have been featured in Southern Living, Coastal Living, and Wine Spectator. But what really sold us is the charm of the local residents. Nice people and genuinely kind with visitors.

Apalach is a walk-around-town with a collection of interesting and quaint shops. We’d be glad to share our favorites when you contact us. Our son will be helping to manage the web site, bookings and correspondences, so feel free to reach out to him and we will be glad to provide more information about both Apalachicola and the loft.

Why Sean Yule chose Apalachicola

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to buy the loft when it went on the market shortly after we stayed there for a long weekend; we hope you will enjoy the charm that both the loft and Apalach offer. Enjoy -

What makes this townhome unique

A unique living experience awaits at YuleTide. Enjoy the airy loft, which looks out on your private courtyard. Walk to award winning restaurants and wine bars. Unique shopping, antiquing, and art galleries await you. World class fishing and wildlife sightseeing all a couple blocks away at the marina.

Can't forget the "Forgotten Coast"

Can't forget the "Forgotten Coast"

Enjoyed the stay - this was our first time at the Yule Tide Loft, but we've made numerous trips to Apalach. The loft was very nicely furnished and clean, convenient to downtown stores and restaurants (walking distance), and provided a full kitchen and washer/dryer (very handy). Ours was primarily a biking/kayaking trip. I highly recommend St. Vincent Island, Tate's Hell, and all of the wonderful beaches - St. George, Mashes Sands Beach at Ochlockonee Bay, Carrabelle Beach, etc. Also, if you like biology/marine life, go to the Gulf Specimens Lab at Panacea. (this is not really a tourist attraction, so if you are a prissy tree hugger who doesn't like getting your hands dirty, don't go.) The grill in the private courtyard at the loft was great for grilling steaks (we live on the coast, so we get seafood a lot). Bikes are provided for riding around town, although we brought our own. The helpful property manager is right next door and she keeps a toolbox - very impressive! All in all, we highly recommend this location for a very laid-back, entertain-yourself, enjoy-the-natural-beauty type of getaway.

Felt at home

  • 5 of 5
Loved Yuletide. Beach/industrial loft decor with custom cabinetry and built-ins were fabulous. We felt comfortable right away. Bought soft crabs and flounder at the 13 mile fish market and groceries at the Piggly Wiggly and cooked several meals there. The small kitchen inspired me. I was torn about the area. Apalachicola is a charming town and I respect their efforts to develop the downtown, but it was REALLY quiet! We walked around on a Saturday evening (6 pm) and few of the shops/galleries were open. Same for the next day. Food prices higher than Key West--over 20 bucks for a grouper sandwich at several locations. St. George Island's beautiful beaches a short car ride away! Some surrounding areas depressed--like Eastpoint --dying fishing industry? But Apalachicola is clean and well-maintained--like I said, just wish some more of the businesses were open.

Outstanding Vacation!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I spent a fabulous 8 days in Apalachicola! We loved every minute of it, especially never having been to the "forgotten" north coast of Florida! Unlike much of Florida, it is underdeveloped and still somewhat wild and beautiful! We needed a relaxing vacation and found it and more here! The loft unit was charming, comfortable (great bed!)spacious, and had everything you could possibly need or want, including a lovely patio with a grill and two bicycles to use. We were amazed at how comfortable we were with the airconditioning set at 78 degrees with the two ceiling fans on. We never needed to lower it! The town is "up beat and down home", as we saw it described, with an amazing number of fantastic restaurants. We had fresh seafood everyday! We loved the location, a block from the water, and found it to be basically walkable to all the quaint shops and eateries (including an old fashioned soda fountain)! We enjoyed exploring the area, which has beautiful beaches and warm water (81 degrees); a local annual saltwater fishing derby; an annual "mullet toss" fundraiser; deep sea fishing; Wakulla Springs boat trip (on our way down from Tallahassee); a side trip to Panama City and Destin (beautiful white beaches and emerald green water; several little local museums; 25 gorgeous victorian homes - and all of this with very little or no traffic! The people were extremely friendly, eveywhere we went. We especially enjoyed Papa Joe's (Oysters baked 12 different ways and amazing hush puppies with their secret recipe); the Seafood Grill, right next to the unit, with the best Crab Cakes I have ever had; A Hole in the Wall; The Owl Cafe; Up the Creek; Caroline's for a wonderful Father's Day breakfast; and Cafe con Leche for a light breakfast! There are several art galleries, as well! The easy parking was also very much appreciated, as were the menus and brochures of the area which the owners thoughtfully provided! We would recommend Apalachicola and our stay at the loft to anyone and everyone! We very much look forward to returning another year in the not too distant future!

Great Location

  • 4 of 5
Exactly as I expected! Right in town, walk to everything!! Well-equipped and very comfortable. Lots of great restaurants nearby and the beach is only a 15 minute drive. Only downsides are that it is a 'loft': bed is up and the bathroom is down and being in the center of town (and right next to a gas station) it was a bit noisy at times.

Wonderful Getaway

  • 4 of 5
Our anniversary getaway was relaxing, but never boring. The Yule Tide was emacculant and well stock with all we needed for cooking, sleeping and just hanging out together. We walked everywhere or rode the bicycles provided by the owners around town, exploring or just taking in the sights of this laid back town. The only surprise we encountered when we arrived was the property next door, which happened to be a gas station and mini mart. This would not keep us from coming back but it did get pretty loud during the day if we were sitting outside on the lovely patio. Otherwise, everything was great!

Coming back!

  • 5 of 5
Our jaws dropped open when we stepped into the Cyress and Honey loft. It is so beautifully appointed and decorated. The loft had everything we could possible need or want for a luxurious stay. We took full advantage of the private outdoor patio and the convenient location to all parts of the town. We were so comfortable that we even talked about how we could stay there for an extended period of time. Loved it. 110%!
