There's other much nicer places to stay!
We were so excited to take a break in Nashville. Too bad this property was a colossal disappointment. Our communication with the owner was scattered; it took a call and email 5 days prior to checking in to learn the address of the apartment. Upon arrival, the apartment was unclean ... we found a bottle of water next to the bed, a dental floss pick on the ottoman, dishes were drying in the sink, and a pajama bottom tag on the furniture. Clean?!?!? The apartment itself is run-down ... there's tape over an electrical outlet, postage tape and cardboard over the carpet, the carpet has an iron burn and cigarette burns, and there was a layer of dust over everything. There was only one window that opened, and it was off it's track - slightly dangerous considering we were on an upper floor. Amenities bare ... old unmatched towels, NO washcloths (!), no coffee filters for the coffeepot and no kettle for the coffee press, and unmatched messy overstuffed cabinets. The shower water pressure was so bad we left that morning without showering. The building is tired; but the owner can't do anything about that. On the flip side, parking was right below the apartment, the area was great as you could walk everywhere. I'd stay right up the road at one of the newer looking hotel properties! To add insult to our stay, we emailed the owner three times after checking out asking about whether or not our pet fee was refundable. Two plus weeks later we have yet to hear a response. Did I mention we also paid a cleaning fee? The owner seems to be pocketing that ... it certainly was not clean on our stay. The kicker of it all was that we already paid mandatory rental insurance on the property! Stay clear ... too bad all it needs is some capital expenditures and better management. How disapppointing.

Owner's Response: First of all, a cleaning crew cleans the unit before EVERY stay. I ask every renter to email or call me when they arrive to make sure everything is up to their standards for this reason. If the unit is not clean, I need to take that up with my cleaning company. Regarding the pet fee, it is something I charge and is non-refundable because of the extra cost that is incurred to clean up the hair. The damage fee is a charge assessed by VRBO, not me, and is therefore non-refundable. Regarding the window, it is in the process of being fixed. Again, was not aware of the problem until this review. The carpet is in the process of being replaced. Regarding the towels, sometimes they are mismatched, but as long as they are clean, I have never had a problem before. This is a vacation rental, not a hotel. Most people see something like that as part of the charm! :) For any future renters reading this, please read the other reviews as well. I strive to provide my renters with a good experience and am happy to do whatever it takes to achieve that. This is Nashville after all! We pride ourselves in taking care of each other here! :D
