In the summer:
Bathing, fishing, ballooning, paragliding, hang-gliding, golf, mini-golf, canoeing, biking, rafting, tennis, hiking, surfing, sailing, climbing and guided tours are all possible activities. You should also visit the country house museum in Amerang, and the car museum on the same location. You can also visit the Castle Hohenaschau, the Castle Herrenchiemsee, and enjoy a steamboat excursion n the Chiemsee Lake. You can go to concerts. We are happy to inform you about the concert calendar. We also suggest you to spend a day on the most famous Haflinger stud in the world, the Fohlenhof Ebbs. There are only 300 m to the wild park Wildbichl. For nature lovers and especially for children, the wild park would be a fantastic experience. In the rarity zoo Ebbs, you can admire flowers and rare birds. You should also try the summer toboggan-run. We also suggest you the playground at the Walchsee Lake, or in the fairy tale park in Marquartstein.
In the winter:
Do you always prefer the summer heat, or you also enjoy the winter? The winter charms the mountains and the valley and offers a variety of activities for your entertainment and recreation: snow hiking, cross-country skiing, slopes, skiing, skating, tobogganing, sunbathing, Kampenwand, Après –Ski- Gaudi. You can also enjoy the wellness offers and the fresh winter air. The skiing regions are in the close vicinity.
Hiking trails:
The 125 km hiking trail connects the regions of Bavaria & Tyrol, the Bavarian Lake Chiemsee and the Tyrolean Kaiserberge (The Emperor’s Mountains/König& Kaiser). Both regions are interesting thanks to their landscape and their history. The hiking trails starts in Koessen (Tyrol) & stops in Bad Endorf (Bavaria), or the other way round. The trail goes by Walchsee Lake, Rettenschoess & crosses the former country border at Bergdorf Sachrang, leading you further through the romantic Prien valley to Aschau i.Ch. From there, it goes on along the river, over the region of Frasdorfer, to Prien-Schafwaschen & finally to the attractive Eggstätt-Hemhofer Lake District, Jod spa & Bad Endorf. The adventurous hiking trail between König and Kaiser attracts you with its 33 information stations. (Each 3 - 4 km, there is an information window). In this way, the hikers can be given information in English and in German about the geology, the fauna and flora, as well as about the history of the region.
Ski:
One of the most beautiful skiing regions in the Chiemgauer Alps, the skiing area around Kampenwand and the cross country skiing runs with their small ski lifts in the direction Sachrang is a unique experience for all the “white sport” lovers. With the Kampenwand rail you can go up to one of the last skiing regions with natural snow, between 650 m and 1550 m high. The region offers a pure nature without snow cannons and well kept slopes, where you can experience the unique feeling of skiing on natural snow. The skiing region Kampenwand offers a gondola, 2 ski lifts and a t-bar lift. The gondola is 840 m high and 2.5 km long. The main slope is 5 km long. The ski lifts have an altitude difference of 350 m, and a length of 900 m. The mogul slope is only for freaks. The double ski lift has an altitude difference of 300 m and it is 750 m long. There are 2 sunny slopes for you to enjoy. The big skiing regions can be reached within 20 minutes by car.
