BEACH FRONT, CUTE, COZY, AFFORDABLE

I was stunned when we walked into this rental. I see that the remaining summer dates are booked so I thought it would be good to let those coming to stay here have a heads up on this place and it's condition. While the location is great the cottage/cabin leaves much to be desired. Brown grass with glass shards in it, smell of chemicals musty and moth balls were our first introductions The kitchen had food splats on the walls fridge filthy and don't even look under the kitchen sink. Bathtub was stained cobwebs in every corner of every room. Dust quite thick on everything. There is no furniture here. Two 3 foot long wicker love seats is all there is to stretch out on. Plastic table that shakes under the weight of a wine glass. If you want your clothes to smell of mothballs the entire time go ahead and put them in the archaic drawers. The closet is horrific. Mattress on floor with holes in the floor is one room. Swaying bunk bed is another room and small full size bed with plastic mattress cover is third bed. The stove is circa 1950 and in need of a cleaning or trash it We've spent the first 48 hours here buying cleaning supplies and scrubbing the place. We bought a clothesline to air
Out the pillows and blankets. I understand this is a beach cottage but for the rental prices they charge the could afford to put a little effort into this place. We discussed all this with the owner who said the place Was in "satisfactory condition" for our arrival. This is far from satisfactory. If you want to spend your vacation watering grass washing linens cleaning tubs sweeping cobwebs cleaning kitchen walls cleaning out refrigerators and trying to not be grossed out at every turn. This is the place for you. Suggestions bring candles as it is much nicer in the dark. Being a soft focus don't look too closely at anything. Bring air fresher and room spray to help abate the smell. Good luck! Great location but cottage not worth it at any price!
