Studio, Studio + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)

This is a cozy small studio perfect for no more than 2 people looking for a private getaway near downtown Denver. The bed is a new custom bedding topped futon (double size) which closes for daytime. The loft has a twin size mattress. The backyard is enclosed for privacy and has a patio, firepit, and grill. Pets are possible - the floors are tiled and the backyard is enclosed. More intimate than a hotel room - you decide whether to eat in or check out our great restaurants, relax at a neighborhood bar or distillery (we have several in our area) or sit on the back patio. Drive or take the lightrail to downtown Denver/Convention Center/Pepsi Center/Mile High Stadium in about 5 mins. or walk to view art galleries 2 blocks east of your 'home'.

About The Owner

I have lived in this area of Denver for over 20 years. We live a few blocks away and manage our rental properties ourselves for the past 8 years. I love to collect art and enjoy designing spaces for people to live in. My daytime job is owner of a tree service. As a Denver native, I ski, snowboard, bike around town, people watch on 16th street mall (will share favorite restaurants!), antique shop and love living in Denver.

The Owner purchased this studio in 2004
Why The Owner chose Denver

Location has always been a factor - we are right next to downtown Denver so are central to all of the metro area. This house is really ideal for a getaway or short stay near the 'action' in Denver or anywhere - skiing and /or hiking are less than 1 hr. away and the bike trails are right here. It is nice to have your own space at the end of the day, eat when and what you want and even do the laundry (if you so choose!). We see it as sort of a bed-and-breakfast without the breakfast sort of place. We live nearby so we will host you here in Denver to the best of our ability. So when you are tired from skiing, hiking, climbing, viewing art, visiting museums, shopping, eating out, seeing broadway shows, cheering for our sports teams, biking, seeing friends and family you could come to Lipan St., and rest your weary bones. Then get up and do it all again the next day.

What makes this studio unique

Why would you choose us rather than a downtown hotel? Privacy, set your own schedule, enjoy a pleasant backyard in a quiet neighborhood, eat and drink exactly what you want when you want it, meet some locals - that's us - who can give you the lowdown on the area. It's different - not just another hotel room (tho' we have some very very nice ones here in Denver!). Did I mention the hammock in the backyard? The park is 3 blocks away, the Buckhorn Exchange(oldest restaurant in Co. #1 liquor license) is 3 blocks west, probably The Japanese farnhouse-style restaurant in the US is a 5 min. walk north. We are located 6 blocks south of Auraria campus - if you are visiting a student there. And the I25 exit for 8th Ave. is about 1/2 mi. from our house.

We are 2 blocks from the Santa Fe Arts district with more than 2 dozen galleries to visit. We are also 5 mins. from downtown Denver and LODO - you can drive or take the lightrail - 2 blocks away. Pepsi Center, Sports Authority Stadium, Convention Center, Denver Art Museum, 16th St. Mall, Denver Performing Arts Center and more are quickly and easily within reach.

Just right for me

I recently just finished a 3 month stay at this place while I did an internship at the zoo. It had a great location and I myself really enjoyed the short distance to Cheesman Park and 16th St. Mall was nice. I only had about a 15 min drive to the zoo as well. Joe was very helpful and always checked in to see if there was anything I needed and the neighbors were friendly as well. If in the future I find myself visiting Denver I would look to staying here again. If you are looking for a nice cozy get away that is close to downtown I would look into staying here; there is plenty of things to do.

Great starting point for an authentic Denver experience

The place is cozy and very well designed. The interior shows much love for detail. Joe was very helpful and friendly.
The neighbors are very nice, the neighborhood itself is beautiful and quite diverse. The location is quite central, so many of Denver's cultural and sport attractions are within walking distance (20-45 min.). Connections to Denver's public transportation system are also excellent. It's easy to visit neighbor cities like Golden by bus.

I would recommend this place to anyone seeking an authentic Denver experience.

A Gem of a Place!

This place is a gem! It is perfect for a couple, possibly even three. Great location, close to downtown, parks, restaurants, art district, sports facilities, and entertainment venues. We really enjoyed our stay in this location and will return for future Denver visits. The rental is beautifully appointed and had everything we needed. We appreciated all the extra touches, the comfortable bed, and warm accommodations for our winter visit. The light rail is very close, only a few blocks. We took full advantage of this easy mode of transportation. Joe and Christine are wonderful hosts, welcoming, thoughtful, and friendly. I recommend this location for anyone looking to experience Denver. We'll be recommending this place to our friends!

Lots of comfort in a small package!

My husband and I stayed 5 nights in this lovely little studio apt. while in the Denver area for a doctor's visit at NJH. Very nicely decorated in an artsy/eclectic style. Clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Joe was available for questions and our needs were met. The double fouton was fine for a few nights stay, but rather awkward to handle. Neighbors were friendly and our two small dogs were right at home in the small fenced back courtyard. While located in an older area of the downtown district, a majority of the neighborhood has been updated and painted and we felt comfortable coming and going day and night. There was ample on the street parking and the unit is located close to main arteries and highways for great access to the mountains, shopping and dining. We hope to return to this little studio at our next visit in a few months.

A good little place!

The studio is well equiped and has everything that you need. Great for a stay near down town and everything was easily accesible and neighborhood was friendly. The studio's front and back yard were very inviting and comfortable.

Futon is the way to go for sleeping. Loft is difficult to access and feels like you are sleeping in a MRI machine. If you sleep well in confined spaces it is a great night's sleep. I had no issues!!

Joe was fantastic to work with. He was very through and extremely helpful!! No stone was left unturned and he went out of his way to address any issues. He really made a great experience on our trip.
