Every vacation home is unique, but few stand out from the pack as clearly as the newly constructed Treetop Villa. In terms of location, design, quality of finishes and on-site service the Treetop Villa is unmatched on the peninsula.
In addition to being solidly constructed the Treetop Villa sports some of the most luxurious finishes available in Belize. Cut limestone tiles cover the floors of the living room and guest bedroom, while the master bedroom is adorned with a floor made of exquisite black poisonwood, one of many local hardwoods utilized throughout the home. Mahogany, with its golden brown hue is the wood of choice for all mouldings, doors, closets, and beds. Santa Maria trusses support the roof, and Cabbage Bark, with its ornate undulating grain, is used on the exterior staircase and for the beams that support the floor of the master bedroom. The kitchen and adjacent bar feature granite counter tops with a ceiling uniquely covered with wild cane. Mexican bowl sinks, tile and one-of-a-kind artisanal light fixtures give personality and flair to the bathrooms. The second floor veranda catches plenty of cool Caribbean breeze, while the veranda on the third offers a stunning view of the sea and nearby cayes.
Everything you need for a carefree holiday is at the ready at the Treetop Villa. Standard cooking utensils and flatware cater to six dinner guests. Appliances include a dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer with icemaker, convection oven/microwave, butane cooktop, and a stacked washer and dryer. 3 split unit air conditioners keep the house cool when the heat is on. A 32” flatscreen TV with 100+ channel cable is mounted on the wall of the living room, along with a DVD player. For those who must remain connected to the web, a wireless internet connection is included. For getting around we provide bicycles and kayaks upon request.
At Cocoplum Vacation Rentals we know that when it comes to rental homes there is a wide selection. What makes our homes special is that the level of personalized service matches the physical quality of the homes. Your host is not a hired caretaker; he is a resident and principal of the development where the home is located. Think of him as concierge and good neighbor rolled into one.
The Placencia Peninsula is quickly becoming the new 'it' destination for people who enjoy the world class attractions of Belize's coast, cayes and interior. Cocoplum has become the premier private residential neighborhood on the peninsula. When you rent here, you not only enjoy a fine home, you also get quality of life. Traffic is minimal in the area, the landscaping is beautiful, and you have access to over a mile of secluded Caribbean beach, in addition to several beautiful park areas within the development. Cocoplum is situated between the finest culinary offerings on the peninsula: a 5 minute drive north leads to the award winning Maya Bistro, while going 15 minutes south into the heart of Placencia Village yields a surprising variety of fine dining and nightlife.

Since Cocoplum Vacation Rentals started up in June of 2011 it has been my great pleasure to welcome our guests to Placencia and to our neighborhood. From the beginning we set out to make our rentals different from the pack. We are not satisfied with the style of rental where the manager hands over the key and says 'see you on check out day!' Personalized service coupled with high quality homes and amenities set in a truly beautiful and serene setting is what we offer to our guests. I live in the development very near to our cluster of rental homes; think of me as a good neighbor and concierge rolled into one. I look forward to hearing from you, and the possibility of hosting you here in Belize soon!
Aaron Krohn purchased this villa in 2012
Excellent and friendly welcome with a detailed and thought through guide on how to get there. House exactly as described and better. Beautiful location with everything you would need. Beach close by and with the chairs and kayak provided gave a relaxing holiday. Surrounding area provided the house within a safe and picturesque setting.
If you are like me you research, research and research before taking the gamble on where to stay for your hard earned vacation. By placing my bet on Coco Plum I hit the jackpot. Placencia seems to be emerging with lots of development and upscale properties available. If you want the standard resort / hotel feel this is not for you. With this being a true vacation rental I did not expect to get the handy informational and concierge services that were always readily available from the extremely friendly staff. From the guard at the gate to the exceptional guy Aaron ( who always follows thru)... they helped plan our days and pack them full of activities down to dinners by listening to our interest and guiding us in the right direction even made the reservations. Cocoplum is a new community still under development. Everything is as shiny as a new penny. The treetop villa is no exception. It came with Kayaks, Bikes, Boardgames, Wifi, Beach Chairs, Fully Stocked Kitchen , cell phone, fresh cut flowers.....the list goes on and on. The only thing we noticed as a bit of an inconvenience was no TV in the master bedroom. The couches in the living room are comfortable but more of a loveseat size. Curling up to watch a movie was still possible. It backs up to the woods with the immaculate beach directly across the neighborhood street. From the patios the ocean view is obstructed but viewable. Close enough to hear the waves and feel the breeze. I don't know if I would recommend the treehouse villa for a family with small kids as the second bedroom is segregated from the main area of the house on the bottom level. Perfect for teenage kids, friends, or two couples. There is no store, restaurant or any external amenities onsite...but if you don't feel like leaving I'm positive Aaron can make anything happen. We found Belize itself amazing and packed with things to see and do. 5 days were not enough. If you are the adventurous outdoorsy type plan an extended stay.
My husband and I just returned from six days here! The Treetop Villa is wonderful! It's very clean, quiet, private, well-maintained with beautiful surroundings. The property is extremely safe and secure. The owner offers lots of extra touches and amenities that sets it apart from other rentals. Visiting Belize for adventure or relaxation, you cannot go wrong with this rental. It is truly a lovely little "tree top" home...away from home!
First let me set the stage. I'm not a big traveller. My idea of a great vacation is a cold beer on the bank of a lake with fishing pole in hand. I don't like crowds - I like quiet. My wife, on the other hand, loves to get out and try new things. Last year my wife and I took a week-long cruise and while she was out swimming with the dolphins, I was camped out on the stateroom balcony enjoying a good book and the sun & sea.
The Tree Top Villa kept us both very happy and did it in first class style.
The Villa: Absolutely beautiful! Honestly - the pictures don't do it justice. Comfortable, homey, and well-appointed, it is one of a handful of completed homes set in the garden-like community of Cocoplum - very quiet and private. You can hide away from the world here. Definitely first class accommodations. You'll likely need to rent a car or golf cart to reach the nearby restaurants, shops, and activities but that's part of the fun.
Your Host: Aaron lives onsite and is available to ensure your vacation is worry free and all you could dream it could be. Where to eat? Need a rental car? Want to tour the Mayan ruins of Caracol? - Aaron can set that up for you. Want picked up at the local airport and to have cold beer (for me) with chocolates & flowers (for my wife) waiting for you when you arrive? - Aaron can do that to. And if you're really lucky, you'll get to hear him play his spanish guitar at a beautifully romantic restaurant on the beach that serves a fantastic New York style pizza.
Activities: I enjoyed taking the small fishing kayak out on the water, dropping my line, and then bobbing along to the sounds of the waves. There's no pool but we preferred to bask on the beach a mere minute's stroll away - white sands, coconut palms, warm & balmy. I could kick back on the breezy veranda of the villa and read my book while my wife went snorkeling or shopping, then in the evening we would pop some popcorn and watch a DVD on the flat screen TV.
The Peninsula: A beautiful area of the country, with friendly people, delicious restaurants, and a variety of shopping. We took a drive further inland one day to see the local countryside and visit some Mayan ruins. The main roads are paved and rather easy to navigate.
In conclusion, thank you Aaron for a wonderful stay. We are very much looking forward to our next visit.
My daughter & I spent seven glorious days at the Maya House in Placencia, enjoying a mother/daughter
Getaway. Everything about it was as accurate and even better than the pictures could portray.
We drove down from the airport through the Maya Mountains to the Placencia Peninsula (2 hrs). What an experience to drive through the most beautiful rainforest and the small Belizean villages. We made many friends with the villagers just by driving through and waving to everyone! There were always little children with bright friendly smiles to greet us and wave back.
Wr arrived later in the evening, tired, but happy to explore all the amenities at the house waiting for us......sitting on the top floor veranda watching the sun set over the ocean, the cool ocean breezes that lulled us to sleep. So cooling, that we actually drew the sheets up during the night.
We awoke very early to a a pale pink sunrise, ran down the the limestone staircase, made a pot of the best Belizean coffee and carried our cups down the short path to the ocean. Walking along the beach, we met no one, it was entirely ours to enjoy.
So began our week of exploring the peninsula, relaxing in this beautiful house,or tasting the menus of all the excellent restaurants nearby. So much food and seafood to sample, only so many days left. Most of our time we stayed in, walked the beach, napped in the cooling, daytime air conditioning. Housekeeping was actually provided every few days to come in to tidy up and do any towels and bedding. What a nice surprise!
We were looking for absolute quiet, except for the birds' music, the palm fronds swishing against the veranda and, as always, the sound of the waves rolling onto the beach. Forays into Placencia to explore the many local shops, and the best TuttiFrutti ice cream, interacting with Belizean locals who are always always friendly. Coming home to enjoy the peace & quiet of the Maya House made this mom happy to have experienced a South Seas vacation that I will do again as soon as possible.
Thank you, Aaron, and your associates, for helping us to get to the Maya House. This is very much recommended to anyone wishing a "True Getaway".
We enjoyed complete luxury accomodations and special attention from Aaron and his staff. Whatever we might have needed, Aaron was there to help us with restaurant reservations, directions to points of interest and even naming the fuzzy little Belizean critters running through the backyard.
Arrived Feb 5, 2013, and as arranged, was met at the local airport by Adam. He offered us each a cold beer and a cool towel to refresh ourselves. Friendly, personable. Drove us to the 10-15 minutes to the villa. Absolutely beautiful. Even better than expected. Ultra clean. Very well appointed. Definitely truth in advertising in their website descriptions. Gorgeous grounds, upscale accommodations without being pretentious.
Fully equipped kitchen, huge master suite with a shower that would easily accommodate 6 people, should the mood strike you. :) Main floor flat screen wall mounted tv, perfect sized dining table, washer/dryer, main floor bathroom, large decks both off the living room and master suite.
A local phone with some minutes on it was provided to use for local calls. We found many excellent restaurants, beach bars and split our meals between cooking ourselves and going out.
Had the opportunity to meet Aaron, Adam's brother. He was a very valuable source of information and help when help was needed. Great recommendations for places to visit, restaurants, music, car rentals, etc. He was more than happy to do whatever was required to make our stay the outstanding time it was. Also met Adam & Aaron's dad who was as accommodating and pleasant as his 2 sons were.
Nothing but good things to say about the property, the lovely family that looks after it, the beautiful villa. We felt safe both on and off the property. You really should arrange for a rental car (or golf cart.) Otherwise, we have nothing but praise for this lovely place, great people, and highly recommend it.
