Get ready for a vacation in Paradise! Relax on your private lanai with panoramic ocean and year-round sunset views. Watch the humpback whales breach from the comfort of your chaise lounge.

Golf Lovers- four world class golf courses are a 5 minutes drive;

Old Blue, Gold, Emerald and Makena. Golf discounts available.

Tennis Fanatics- Wailea Tennis Center is a five minute walk.

There are two bedroom suites, each with their own bath. The two bedrooms are separated from each other by the living area. The floor plan is great for two couples or for families with children of any age. There is also a very comfortable queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.

The condo has been recently remodeled. There are travertine floors throughout and luxurious marble bathrooms. The decor is upscale Tommy Bahama.

Daily housekeeping or on-demand housekeeping can be arranged for an additional fee.

About The Owner

Diane & DJ are from Napa, California. DJ is a transportation & energy consultant & Diane runs the family vineyard business. They travel to Wailea, their home away from home, 2-3 times a year. They truly consider this their 2nd home and care for it as such.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2005
Why The Owner chose Wailea

After traveling to numerous locations in the Hawaiian Islands since the early 80's, we chose Wailea because of the year-round dependable, vacation friendly climate. The beaches, the snorkeling, the golf, the tennis, the gourmet restaurants, the shopping, the proximity to the airport cannot be duplicated elsewhere. Wailea is often referred to as the 'banana belt' of Maui as there is much less rain and wind

here.

What makes this condo unique

DJ is a golf fanatic & he loves the golf in Wailea. Diane is a beach enthusiast and says 'the beaches, the bodysurfing, the snorkeling, swimming with the sea turtles, the sunsets are the best anywhere' Ekolu is a very quiet, beautifully landscaped complex. DJ says 'he loves waking up to the sound of the birds singing each morning'.

Maui vacation

We stayed in this unit at Wailea Ekolu for 9 nights from April 1-10, 2013. I have to agree with some points that the previous reviewer Joe mentioned. I would rate the condo comex as "very good", but i would rate this particular unit as "average" it was nice, but at the same time there are several areas that need improvement. Below I have lined out the aspects that I liked/enjoyed and the aspects that I think need improvement. I believe that I am a fair person and I strive to give objective reviews.


THE GOOD:

-The owner is lovely and easy to work with
-The management company is very accommodating and quick to address issues
-Great location, convenient to dining, shopping and beautiful beaches
-The grounds are very nice and well-maintained
-The condo floor plan is functional, spacious and flows well
-View of the ocean from the lanai was lovely
-Convenient parking without having views of parking lots
-The pools are very nice and were heated to a comfortable temperature


THE NOT-SO-GOOD:
(Of course I acknowledge that some of the issues below are not the fault of the owners.)

-The grounds did not have gas grills, only charcoal
-No hot tub
-The condo unit was not very clean; it needs a thorough, deep clean.
-The furniture looked dingy and worn
-The carpet in the bedrooms was stained and looked old
-The furnishings were dated
-The internet connection was spotty, we had internet connectivity about 30% of our time at the condo
-Very few kids (although this could be a plus for some vacationers) We traveled with our 5 year old daughter and she was constantly looking for a playmate. The people staying at Ekolu while we were there were older.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

1. Good location at Wailea
2. Good ocean view & sunset

6. Furniture at living room were not good
7. Carpte at living room looks very old (not look clean)
8. Sliding doors at lanai and screen were not good maintained.
Overall review is at good instead of excellent

The rug in the living room is an antique, perhaps that is why it looked old to you. I am sorry the sliding glass door did not work well, I will check have my property manager check into that.

South Maui Stay

stay was overall really great, we love South Maui and the beaches are truly the best in this part of Maui. The condo was as described and did have an ocean view from the main verandah.The decor is very pleasant and overall furniture very comfortable. The VRBO site says that with your stay you get housekeeping every 2 or 3 days but in fact that is not true with this specific unit. I only found out that information when we got there. However due to the in unit washer and dryer this was not even an issue because we were able to wash our own towels and have all we needed Only downside was that when windows were opened you could hear the traffic. Also in the middle of the night I would be awakened by these very loud birds that made a very peculiar noise as if someone was strangling them or something. I did get used to it and due to the fact that they are literally everywhere in that part of Maui it's really unavoidable. I would definitely go again.

Great Condo

We stayed in Wailea Ekolu for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed all the condo had to offer. The unit is spacious and well laid-out, with a fantastic lanai overlooking the water. The booking and check-in process was very simple and Diane was great in providing us with local tips and answering any questions we had.

The Wailea Ekolu property is perfectly situated to enjoy all that Maui has to offer. It is close to some of the best beaches on Maui, along with golf, tennis and shopping.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers
