Rented the house for a snowboarding trip. We paid a heating and cleaning fee. The heat didn't work properly so house was cold the entire time we were there. The cleaning covered nothing so the owner kept our deposit to dry clean the sheets. I guess we were not suppose to use the sheets on the bed. There were so many rules that goes against what's advertised like don't use the hot tub but it's been used to lure renters in. Overall the size of the house was big but the accommodations was piss poor and the owners are not fair. Both the owners conduct business very shady. I wish I had the time and money to sue for my deposit.
Although the owners of the house were very nice and seemed respectful, it wasn't a good experience overall. They advertise a 2 car garage that barely fits one mid-size vehicle, because one side is loaded with lawn equipment, tash cans, and other household items. I wasn't fond of having to open and close a not-so sturdy gate they used to keep deer off the property every time I entered and exited the property. Jacuzzi tub looked very nice, but as "not" advertised on the website the tub is advised by owner to not be used. Because it would deplete all of the hot water in the whole house and would take hours to replenish, which was mentioned after money was received. The place had lots of space, has a very beautiful layout, and the decor was kind of cool. The other fees not listed on the site may seem like a sham, it did to me but place looked very nice and accomendating. The cleaning fee that is suppose to cover the cleanliness of the home. I've washed every dish used, emptied every trash bag used (even the one that was half way filled in the kitchen when I arrived), and shoes were never worn passed the mudroom. Also paid an oil fee, which didn't seem like a bad deal and kept at 70 degrees the entire stay (heat worked well). 4 out of 5 beds, 4 bathrooms, and 3 sheets extra were used (out of the linen they claim to provide vacationers for use)during my stay for 4 guys in thier 30's. Due to beds/sheets/bathrroms were used they decided to kept my security deposit. The excuse for not refunding the security deposit was "Excessive cleaning" was needed. The deposit loss isn't the worst thing in the world, if the needed the money that bad to create a reason then.... fine! I just would like to warn others if you decide to rent the place. Please be sure to ask for their definition of "Excessive cleaning", bring your own extra linen, eat out, and do not create trash to be taken out or you to will be out of a deposit too. enjoy!!!
we went for a wedding in Rutland. It is a large house but was not a great experience. Some hot water, ants, some other problems. Would not return.
