For anyone setting out to explore Roma, this is the place to be. Everything you want to see, you can see on foot. But if you're exhausted from a long day, and want to take a cab home, you need say nothing more than The Pantheon, and every driver in the city will know how to get you home.
My friends and I were in town for my birthday following a week in Tuscany. The apartment provided ample space, lots of light, a cozy balcony for eating al fresco, A/C, wifi, an elevator for those not wanting to walk-up to the penthouse, and yes -- it does look exactly the way it does in photos. The apartment i skept in excellent condition, and the kitchen provides you with everything you may need to whip up a meal minus the food itself.
Luigi provided excellent restaurant suggestions, and gave us insight on what cabs around the neighborhood could cost. He even pointed out the local grocery where the prices were best.
Considering its central location, you might expect the apartment to suffer from too much noise from the street. Not the case at all. I slept with the windows open, and was not disturbed in the slightest. And, if you're coming home late, never fear for there is a manned police post directly opposite the front door.
My friends and I found this to be a far better value than any of the hotels in the area -- we paid for our entire stay with what it could have cost us for 2 days in a hotel. We also saved money by having a few meals at home.
And if all of this is not enticing enough, I should add that it's a 2 minute walk to Giolitti -- the best gelato in the city.
I can't wait to return.
