We off up two original farmhouses to our farm, also see #426809. Jay's roots in this valley and farm started upon his birth 56 years ago. So unusual these days! We love this farm and valley and would love to share the history of both when you stay! Jay remains an active member of this community, serving on the school board, now in his 16th year as we as current food bank president of Snohomish Food bank. Being Jay's partner in life and business, together we continue to grow the farm, and constantly strive to make it a 'haycation'destination like no other!

Owner/Property Manager purchased this farmhouse in 1949

My family has owned this farm since 1949. The homestead house has been a part of this working farm since 1949. Previously, a dairy farm, we now operate the farm raising natural pork, beef and lamb. Not only can you enjoy the privacy of staying in an original, renovated, farmhouse to the farm, but you can participate in feeding, farm tours, hiking the 20 acres of trails on our farm, completely private. The views of the valley are stunning, and getting to town is 5 min.drive. It's all here! Who do you know that has grown up on the same farm all of their 56 years? Definitely a unique situation!

Waking up to the sounds of country life...quiet! Experiencing the farm animals, and the surrounding view within minutes from an historic town. Big city life in Seattle within an hours drive as well as the mountains and water, all within an 1/2 to an hour is a plus!

Wonderful time

Our family felt right at home on Hagen Farm. Yummy cookies were waiting for us in the kitchen when we arrived. And the retro decor got me super excited the moment I stepped through the door. A lot of thought gets put into the hospitality here - right down to the complimentary boots and overalls! The kids and adults both enjoyed visiting the cows, sheep, and pigs during the farm tour. And we had a blast visiting all the nearby pumpkin patches and Halloween festivities. But it's that beautiful view of the farmhouse and the valley that will stick with me the most. Snohomish is a wonderful, off-the-beaten path destination in WA. Hot air balloon rides, sky diving, pumpkin patch activities for tots, the state's best antiquing, and haunted houses for teens and adventurous adults make this the perfect getaway for just about any age or personality. This will definitely become our family's Fall tradition!

Owner's Response: It was such a delight to meet this family, meeting them at the barn, and seeing them in their boots and overalls brought a smile to my face for sure. The family, getting out of the city to the farm, and Snohomish, with all it has to offer, made me not only proud to be a farmer, but to be a farmer in Snohomish! The location of the farm allows for guests to easily navigate all the valley has to offer, as well as downtown Snohomish, with little travel time. I look forward to seeing the family making this a fall tradition!

There are far too few words to describe our wonderful experience. If we hadn't have had other commitments, we would have happily settled here for much longer. Barbara's attention to detail and thoughtful touches were gratefully appreciated. The accommodation was very comfortable and included everything that one would need to enjoy a stay. The views are breathtaking. Thank you so much, Barbara for your generosity and sincere hospitality. I'm anxious to stay again, for much longer next time.

Great Stay!

We had a great 2 night stay in this "haycation" rental. Prior to our arrival the host was very good about communication which gave me a good feeling as this was our first experience with a VRBO rental.

We were first greeted with fresh blueberry muffins waiting on the kitchen table – YUM! The host met us shortly after we arrived and took the time to visit for a short bit making us feel very welcome. We found the pictures and description listed here to be fairly accurate. The furnishings were nice and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with some basics which was very nice. The location is quiet and the view overlooking farmland from the front room and fire pit area were beautiful. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area!

Owner's Response: We were happy to have met this family, and so glad the home met their needs well. We try to make it as convenient as possible to make their stay as pleasant and worry free as possible. We hope the guests can take advantage of the beautiful view the farm offers. The farm is situated so centrally, you can reach US 2 within minutes to reach the Cascade Mts.within 1 hour, for snow skiing. You can catch I-5 south to be in Seattle under an hour, 15 min.to the west for water sports & fishing. We always welcome any suggestions or requests that we can do to make a stay even better. If we can accomodate a special request, we are more than willing to do so if we can. We only wish this family lived closer! The farm could always use a John Deere mechanic as friends of the farm! Such a sweet family!

I really enjoyed my stay in this nice original farmhouse. It has some great views over the Snohomish valley and is easy reach of Snohomich and Lake Stevens. The listing and photos are very accurate and the place was clean and tidy with all the facilities that you could need. The owner was very helpful, answered all my emails and phone message promptly. Snohomish itself was quite the surprise with lots of resturants, antique places and great buzz.

Owner's Response: It was such a pleasure to host these guests in town to participate in the Ironman in Lake Stevens! The mud room at the house was perfect for housing their bikes when needed, and they didn't have to drive far to get to their destination on competition day. We were happy to have hosted these guests, giving them a nice restful place to stay while in town! We hope they come back next year so we can watch them compete! They all won in their age group! Amazing!

Great Family Fun

While attending a family wedding in Monroe we were able to rent this home from Hagen Farms. Our grandkids were treated like royalty by Barbara and her husband who own the farm. Barbara gave them a tour of the farm and the kids saw and played with many different farm animals. The adults enjoyed the history that comes with the property. The house sits above the road so you have a view of the valley below and other great historic farms. There is a hiking trail up behind the house that you won't want to miss. The view from on top is spectacular. It was a joy to stay at the farm. I would encourage anyone that wants a few days or weeks away to rent this home and enjoy the peaceful setting. There are several towns nearby within 10 minutes that have great antique shopping. You can see hot air balloons take off each morning from the airport below the farm. It is a very special setting. Take advantage of it !!

Owner's Response: The pleasure was all ours in meeting this family! I had so much fun on the farm tour, the kids were so polite and inquisitive! Talk about brave! They went up the ladder in the barn like they grew up on the farm! I really hope this family comes back up to stay on the farm, when they can spend more time, perhaps staying in the bigger home next time! It's a kids paradise on the farm, so much exploring to do between the 20 acres of trails behind the house, barns to explore, baby animals to adore, pet and feed. For the adults, having historical Snohomish just 5 minnute's drive from the farm, providing plenty of boutiques, pubs, & shopping. The view from the front porch is a sweet time for the entire family to sit back, slow down, disconnect & reconnect! We hope this family makes this a regular experience, as other guests have! They get to see the progress on the farm, and we get to watch the children grow & appreciate we are part of their childhood memory making!
