Live in Miami with my family... We all really enjoy coming out to the Island whenever we have the opportunity.
Joe purchased this apartment in 2005
I bought this apartment a number of years ago as a place to vacation with my family... I chose this location because there is no other place in the world as safe, convenient, and luxuriously comfortable as this island... This is the only place where I can leave my door open and let my kids, nieces, nephews, etc. wander about without ever having to think twice. Finding this hotel -- with all its amenities and quirky historic features -- was very much like finding a 'hidden treasure.'
After purchasing, I did a complete floor to ceiling renovation of the apartment. Hope you enjoy!
Walking on the beach everyday --- a ritual I savor...
Also really enjoy renting bikes from the next-door bike shop and exploring all the different nooks & crannies of the island.
And after an early-morning swim in the pool, you can't beat a morning breakfast at nearby Green's Pharmacy or the French Bakery!

We stayed in this unit from January 5th through February 28th, 2015. Its location is excellent. The block includes a Publix grocery store, Catholic church, and place to rent bikes. The ocean beach and an excellent bike trail are a couple blocks away. The unit has everything two people need – living room, kitchen with counter for meals, bedroom, bathroom with tub/shower, and lots of storage space. It has hot water when you need it (once you realize that the kitchen sink faucet has to be turned to the right rather than the left to get hot water). The kitchen is well supplied with dishware, silverware, microwave oven, stovetop burner, toaster, and coffeemaker; it could use a toaster oven, blender, crockpot, and set of mixing bowls. The refrigerator needs defrosting monthly. The beach chairs and beach blanket are great. The building wi-fi worked well most of the time. There is a storage area for bikes outside. The laundry in the building is okay but cost us $25 a month. The outside area is nice, with a pool in the shade, but the best part in January-February is the strip near the street where the sun shines. We met other guests in passing in the elevator and the lobby. It would be nice for the hotel condominium to have a weekly reception for guests to meet each other.
We had a few small problems. Street parking can be found a few blocks away, but having your car that far away is inconvenient even if the walking is healthy. The hotel condominium is in an old building built in the 1920s; use of the air conditioner and dehumidifier is required to keep the unit’s humidity at the right level; the air conditioner is set at 70-75 degrees; and their noise interferes with using the television or phone in that room. When we arrived, the unit had a very musty odor; we finally solved the problem, except for a whiff of odor as we entered the room, by replacing four ineffective air fresheners with a container of DampRid activated charcoal that we bought at Lowe’s. We did not use the dead bolt on the entry door; it can only be opened and closed from the inside and it resisted being opened, even after the maintenance guy worked on it. The weather strip at the bottom of the entry door is old and needs to be replaced. The bed’s wobbly headboard needs to be stabilized.
We brought our recumbent tandem along to bike, and that was our main activity -- on Palm Beach and around southern Florida. Shark Valley Trail is the best for seeing alligators on the side of the road.
My family and I recently rented this unit for a week long stay in Palm Beach. The location of the property is pheonomenal. Everything is at your finger tips -- restaurants, ice cream palors, pastry shops, and stores. The beach is only two blocks away. A brand new Publix supermarket is located directly across the street so you can easily stock your room with all the necessities.
The unit has been recently renvoated. The design is clean and modern with hard wood floors, leather couch, and updated bath and kitchen. The rates are extremely affordable and the accommodations are superb. The outdoor pool is beautiful and has recently been renovated as well. A beauty palor/nail salon is located on site. I highly recommend this unit if you are looking for accommodations in Palm Beach.
The location couldn't be beat. Palm Beach is a stunningly wealthy/expensive town, but this condo was very reasonably priced compared to hotels in the area, and the kitchen means not having to go out for every meal. Everything was just as described -- clean, comfortable and totally charming. The owner made sure we felt welcome, the concierge was very helpful, and the other residents/guests were friendly. There was some noise when the upstairs neighbors came in late one night (not surprising in an older building), but otherwise very quiet. If you need a ride to the airport, ask if Luis is available -- same price as a cab but is twice as nice.
Very clean, safe environment to stay! We were desperate to find a place close to the beach and airport at the last minute and everything worked out great. Tons of shops and a Publix right near the condo. The bike rentals next door are a must! Gorgeous area. I would strongly recommend this place for 2-3 people needing a quick get away in Palm Beach Florida.
This is a superb place for a single traveler or a couple. Any more than two would be too crowded. Comfortable bed and sofa, well renovated bathroom and kitchen. And you are in the very center of Palm Beach, with all the restaurants nearby and the beach literally five minutes away. Best of all a superb Publix supermarket is just across the street. Highly recommended.
