About Mary Ann Norwood
I am a native of North Carolina and I live in Raleigh. I am a financial aid advisor with the Wake County School System. I enjoy helping high school students find money for college. In my leisure time, I play tennis, bike, hike, travel, and take art classes. I feel so lucky to be able to spend time in the Boone/Blowing Rock area. When I travel away from North Carolina and then come back to the mountains, I realize how blessed I am to live in this beautiful state. The Blue Ridge Mountains are breath taking and I always get the same feeling no matter how many times I go to the mountains.
Mary Ann Norwood purchased this condo in 2003
Why Mary Ann Norwood chose Boone
For many years I visited my graduate school advisor (family) who retired to Blowing Rock. So I became very familiar with the area. Special friends of mine had a condo at Deer Valley and after visiting them one summer, I knew this was a perfect place for me. That summer I bought my condo. For eight years I have enjoyed biking, hiking, kayaking, tennis and taking art classes in the mountains. I have enjoyed meeting people from all over the world who visit the area. I just love the High Country.
What makes this condo unique
When you open the door of my condo you get a very special feeling. It has the same new feel as the first day I bought it and finished decorating it. I leave my windows open and always have fresh mountain air. In the mornings I can sit on the covered deck and eat breakfast while watching tennis games below. After breakfast, I can play tennis, kayak (on the New River), bike or hike on some of the wonderful trails nearby. There are many outdoor cafes available for lunch after exercising. Afternoons can be spent curled up on the sofa reading a book or exploring the Mast General Store in downtown Boone. You can visit the original store in nearby Valle Crusis. Many theater groups offer plays in the summer in Blowing Rock and Banner Elk. Summer concerts and entertainment series are offered by ASU from June through August. Evenings can be spent on the deck with a glass of wine watching the sun set behind the mountains. Deer Valley is in a great location and has easy access to all of the attractions in the area. The roads and parking lot are always cleared for guests and residents. Properties are all privately owned and many are occupied by year round permanent residents.
