I purchased this condo because I love deep dry powder in the winter, and the small town community Kellogg has. Time seems to slow down completely, and I can just relax and breath in the crisp mountain air. In the summer I visit to take advantage of the world class fishing the silver valley has to offer, and in the winter I'm shredding the pow.
The condo is located at the base of the Trail of Coeur D'Alene's, and the shuttle bus takes you to the top of the Hiawatha trail during the summer from right down the road. Also you get water park access to the state of the art indoor water park.
This was a really nice affordable clean place to stay for a couple of days while enjoying the water park. Also, the owner is very prompt and professional. There were a few house keeping items that needed to be addressed like one of the key cards didn't work, soap was out in the bathroom and the kitchen and the dishwasher wasn't working. I am not sure if the owner even knew about it, but I let him know at checkout. The only downside to the unit was the bed was very hard, this is probably personal preference but my husband had to go to walmart to buy a memory foam topper just so I could make it through the second night. My only suggestions to the owner would be to add some extra pillows, there was just the three on the king size bed. And to include an unused sponge to wash dishes. The one that was there was very dirty. Also, paper towels would be great to have! I feel like I am being nit picky but we did have a great time! We have stayed in lot of units similar to this one and they had the extra amenities I listed above and it just makes the stay more enjoyable.
Right in the middle of everything and extremely convenient. Will definitely stay here again.
Oh my gosh, so nice to be able to stay at the Morningstar Lodge for an affordable price! The room is the smaller studio room, and there is no stove top or oven (so if you want to cook this one isn't for you), but there's a microwave etc. and it is such a great retreat! Also, Gus is so friendly and helpful and was so accommodating when our plans changed a few times. I'm a little hesitant to write a positive review because I want to always be able to book this place!
Water park access included, however you have to buy tickets separately.
