House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Nestled against the spectacular San Jacinto Mountains, this updated mid-century gem provides a peaceful poolside retreat in classic Palm Springs style. Wake up in the master bedroom to an unbeatable view of the golden hills and throw open the glass doors to savor true California indoor/outdoor living. This, four bedroom, three bath, residence is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with a completely private, grassy back yard and aquamarine pool and spa. The furnishings, entertainment systems and linens are all new with a blend of contemporary and vintage modernism. You and your friends can cook up a storm in the comfortable and well-equipped gourmet kitchen with outdoor built in BBQ and large counter and spend the evening star gazing by the fire pit or mosey into town by car or foot to one of Palm Springs’ outstanding restaurants.

Vista Las Palmas is one of Palm Springs’ classic neighborhoods abounding with the simple modernity of Alexander houses, the ghosts of the Rat Pack, and mountain views that are free of power lines and utility poles. It’s just fifteen minutes on foot or five by car to Palm Canyon Drive where you’ll find world class restaurants, art galleries, boutiques and shops. If you have more ambitious recreational plans, you’ll be ten to fifteen minutes from the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, Tahquitz Canyon for hiking and the Spa Resort Casino. Opportunities for golfing, tennis and biking are all around you. If you’re driving in from Los Angeles, Vista Las Palmas is conveniently located just as you enter Palm Springs; for those of you coming from further it’s only fifteen minutes from the Palm Springs International Airport.

Glorious!

  • of 5

Just spent over two weeks at this property and it was absolutely wonderful. We stayed with our two children and the set up was perfect. The pool is not too deep, perfect for kids and days relaxing in the sun, and the spa is AMAZING! It has a deep end that is about 4 feet deep. On cooler days the kids would use the spa as a pool and practice diving. The fire pit gave us many wonderful, warm evenings under the stars. We have rented homes in many places, including 3 homes in the Old Las Palmas (PSP) neighbourhood over the years and this was by far the best rental experience we have ever had. The house is wonderful, but what is even better is the owners. They were accessible, helpful, and we felt they truly wanted to make sure our vacation was as perfect as it could be. They even made sure to turn up the spa for us when we were returning from LEGOLAND so we could come home and relax right away. A very welcome treat! It was a dream vacation and we are already looking forward to booking a return trip. Five stars all around! I would give Ken and Quentin ten stars if I could!

Christmas 2014

  • 5 of 5

Three of us spent Christmas week at this incredible house and had a wonderful time. It was everything we wanted and more.

First off, the photos do not do the house justice. Secondly, due its placement on a cul de sac, the house looks modest from the street. It is only after you step inside the door that you realize the expansiveness of the home. There are an abundance of windows overlooking the yard with its large pool, huge deep hot tub, an outside bar with grill, outdoor shower, and abundant patio areas surrounded by beautiful landscaping. As nice as the interior of the house is (and it's beautiful), the outside is like a private park with incredible views of the mountains in three directions. It feels like a private oasis and is completely private and exceptionally quiet. We never heard and never saw any neighbors.

I was fortunate enough to be traveling with a friend who went to culinary school and was looking forward to cooking during our vacation. With any rental property you expect to find the basic pots and pans and utensils. However this house is stocked like a professional kitchen with extensive cookware and every conceivable appliance. Plus there is an abundance of mixing bowls and serving platters, flatware and multiple sets of dishes and glassware (plastic for outside use around the pool and hot tub).

We really enjoyed every aspect of the house. The house is very well furnished and its layout allowed for the three of us to completely spread out. There are two master bedrooms with private baths and two other bedrooms share a third bath. There are a ton of bath towels and pool towels.

We had a wonderfully relaxing week, eating out a few nights and cooking in the rest. Ken's very thorough "renter's guide" gave directions to the grocery markets and suggestions for restaurants. We used the Town Bikes almost every day and found it was a great way to sightsee. (Bring a backpack and you can carry your groceries home on the bike.)

Ken makes the rental process very easy. He is very professional in handling all the arrangements and is extremely patient and very responsive responding to every question you might have. He checked in on us both before and during our stay and even though we never met him in person, he was an amazingly gracious host. We definitely recommend this house and will rent this house again.

New Year's Eve

Six of us spent a week in PS to celebrate the new year. We loved the house, especially the hot tub. The bikes were great. The house was everything we were looking for in a vacation place. Beautiful views of the mountains as well.

Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Our family had an excellent stay at this beautiful house in a quiet cul-de-sac. The house was completely stocked with anything you could possibly need and much much more. The backyard was large and, in addition to the pool and jacuzzi areas, had a couple of green spaces where the kids could play. Ken, the owner, was also kind enough to contact us a couple of times to ensure everything was to our liking. I would strongly recommend this house. Thanks again Ken!

LAZY DAYS AND FOOD-FILLED NIGHTS

  • 5 of 5

Six of us arrived to celebrate a birthday in total seclusion, and boy did we pick the right place. Quietly located on a cul-de-sac in Vista Las Palmas, we had everything we needed (and if we hadn't, it was clear Ken or Quentin would get it to us immediately) to celebrate the birthday in style.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear Ken and Quentin made sure the weather was perfect, too… but it is certain they made their backyard perfect for good weather - the pool was big and the water warm, allowing us to float for hours while reading or napping. And lounge chairs aplenty for sunning and napping. Don't get me started on the spa - room for 12, I'd say. For the 6 of us, it was just perfect. And a fire pit built into the ground right next to it, with a comfy lounge set in an L around… perfect for the evenings while we cooked on the outdoor grill, and after dinner, for drinks and conversation. And the view… mountains hanging over us outside, and the morning sun would light them up gloriously - a fantastic way to start the day.

The house is stocked with all you'd need, and once we'd provisioned ourselves, we rarely left (maybe to restock, and once for Thanksgiving dinner out at friends). Plenty of cookware, dishes, glassware… you name it, they had it. It's a house stocked to entertain - we had friends over for dinner a couple of nights and it was a breeze cooking in the kitchen.

The townie bikes are such a great idea, and in excellent condition. Kudos to Ken and Quentin for providing helmets as well… thoughtful and smart. We all took rides almost every day, winding through the neighborhood looking at the beautiful mid-century architecture everywhere you turn, and venturing into town (it's that close!) to check out the specialty shops.

Our last evening we gave ourselves a reprieve and brought in a chef (at Ken's recommendation) for the final meal, and it was culinary perfection. Joseph was professional, charming, thorough, and, above all, an excellent chef. I only wish I had his card in front of me so I could give his full name… but if you're ever at the house and want to treat yourselves even more, Ken can provide his info, I'm sure.

Leaving was easy only because the final day was overcast… again, as if Ken and Quentin made it that way so our exit wasn't depressing.

Thanks to both Ken and Quentin for creating a lovely oasis in the desert where you can kick back, relax, and never leave the property without feeling like you're missing something.

Perfect house

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Ken's house for 1 week - and it was just perfect!

The house has everything you need and it has it in style - from kitchen equipment to the SONOS sound system, from bathroom to living room. The outside comprises a phenomenal view, a great pool and jacuzzi and an awesome BBQ place - what else do you need?. We enjoyed our time very much.

Also Ken was very helpful and responsive throughout the whole time!

Thanks again for the perfect vacation! Would recommend the house strongly.
