The house is not only picture perfect, it is also wonderfully appointed. Our kids loved the heated pool in particular on the two days the temperature unexpectedly dropped in Key West. The pool house has a lovely little bedroom where our boys stayed, enjoying their semi-privacy. The master bedroom is beautifully done, with a high ceiling and a lot of light. There are fans everywhere in the house so we never turned the AC on. The area is very quiet at night and the house is surrounded by other beautiful homes whose historic character has been carefully preserved. Duval is 8 blocks away, a 20mn walk- I recommended walking there: parking near Duval can be a bear. Instead, leave your can in the parking space in the back of the house and walk down Southard. Larry, the owner was very responsive and helpful. We will be back!
This home was absolutely beautiful! The house was just as it was described and more! There were 4 adults that stayed in the house for a week and we had plenty of room. Rooms were spacious. The plunge pool was a highlight after a day of walking around Key West. While we had rented a car, we walked almost everywhere. The area is very quiet and gorgeous, a lot of gardens, picket fences and lovely homes. Everything was clean and in excellent condition. I would definitely recommend this listing to others and would rent it again myself. The owner provides a list of restaurants and he was spot on! I enjoyed walking around and taking in the beautiful homes. Don't miss the sunset at least once from Mallory Square!
The house was very cozy and comfortable and has everything you need. My husband and I spent 10 days at the house and were very comfortable. It is about a mile walk to duval street but there are lots of little resturants and stores to stop at on the way. We initially were going to hoof it or rent bicycles but with a baby along we decided having a car would be easier in the long run. We had a great time.
This property has it all! Bahamian decor and virtually everything you could possibly need or want! The location is perfect- close enough for a short bike ride to Duval St or the Harbor but in a very quiet neighborhood. We could not have been more pleased. The owner was just an email away. This property was beyond our dreams. Do not hesitate to rent!
The pool was a perfect way to cool down after biking or partying!
This Key West home is terrific. We had not stayed in this location before and it was wonderful -- in the heart of a residential area but close enough to the action to walk everywhere and far enough away from the noise and glitz of Duval Street. Everything has been beautifully restored and updated and we thought it perfect and would not have improved or changed a thing. Loved the plunge pool at the end of the day and we definitely plan to return.
This house exceeded our expectations. Larry the owner is wonderful and as we planned our vacation and reached out to him w/questions he was very easy to interact with. The color scheme in this house is calming and inviting. The property is private and cozy even though you are among locals you rarely see anyone. I would recommend this to anyone in a heart beat! Can't beat what you get for the price. We did stop at Faustos for some groceries. I just needed to remember I'm on an island so they aren't going to have the same grocery items as we have at home in our large grocery store, but no complaints still! We were about a mile from Duval so we walked a lot, but again no complaints. Once you know how all the streets connect, you're good to go and there are so many places to stop. Just wear good walking shoes and you'll be fine. You can also rent bicycles, scooters or electric cars, but we didn't do that. We walked everywhere. I figured I was walking off the food and drinks we had :) I recommend talking to the locals and ask where they eat and drink. Made some of our best finds this way. Everyone was so friendly and inviting. Once the spring breakers started to arrive, we avoided Duval as much as possible. If you don't like craziness, don't go during spring break. Or do as we did and go to off Duval places. Excellent trip and this house was wonderful. Definitely recommend this!
