Wonderful place to stay and be a part of the local community

I just got back from Granada Nicaragua, and had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Casa Anita. The house is in a great area, close to the markets and center of town, on a side street that makes you feel like you are part of the community. The main restaurants are only a 5-10 minute walk away, the outdoor market is around the corner, and the streets are lined with little shops, parks and churches that will keep you busy and wanting to meander and explore.
The staff at GPS are wonderful and very accommodating, especially in arranging transportation to / from the airport, and the housekeeper, Johana, was super friendly and assisted in locating the grocery stores, local attractions and spa services. I fell in love with her bubbly personality. Julio, the one who provided the transportation, was very nice and informative, and upon arriving, drove around the town a bit to give points of reference, and walked through the house pointing out the ammenities and showing where all the switches, controls, etc. were. Vanessa, eventhough I didn't meet her, was always pleasant and available via email to answer any questions.
When you walk into Casa Anita, you automatically feel at ease and at home. The pool was refreshing, the kitchen well stocked with utensils and appliances, and I found the bedding to be quite comfortable. It was so nice to wake up and make a cup of coffee, sit by the pool or in the upstairs cooridor, and listen to the city wake up. During the day, it was great to stroll the streets, talk to the friendly locals, absorb the culture and return to the house to make a lunch and take a quick dip in the pool. At night, the owners did a great job with the lighting, creating a cozy atmosphere and highlighting the house's details while winding down with the warm breeze and listening to the festivities. Each night something was going on, creating a great ending to a perfect day. In fact, the only things I could find wrong with Casa Anita was 1- I couldn't decide whether to stay in or venture out, and 2- that I had to leave.
I am already planning to go back to Granada and stay a little longer this time to take some of the tours, and I hope to be able to stay at Casa Anita again.
