Casa Anita is a warm and inviting villa, with very comfortable furnishings, beautiful arches and columns that accent the main floor and surround a nice central pool and fountain. It is unique in the heart of Granada within 3 blocks of Central Park with all that it has to offer, such as Dining, Night Life, Shopping and Museums, just to mention a few.
There are two luxurious bedrooms upstairs that have ample space, very comfortable queen size beds, TV's with cable, airconditioning and each have on-suite baths.
Mild temperatures, blue skies spotted with white clouds, the sound of dove and kiskadee, an occasional glimpse of parrots just off the upstairs balcony. The sound of horse hooves on the cobble stone streets below, the aroma of breakfast cooking at one of the local restaurants around the corner....all while enjoying a cup of locally grown coffee. This is just one morning in the real everyday world at Casa Anita.
No trip to Nicaragua is complete without a trip to Granada to experience the warmth and hospitalility of it's people, and culture. It is a relaxed and easy pace where schedules and agendas are almost non-existant. You can leave your watch at home. A horse drawn carriage is just the right pace for taking in all of the historic sites, some of which date back to 1524, when Granada was founded.
Just a few blocks past Central Park and you will find Lake Nicaragua where boat tours are available to explore some of the 365 islands and habitats formed by the Mombacho Volcanic eruption from over 20,000 years ago. Now dormant, Mombacho reserve is mostly covered by a mystical cloud forrest. Tours are available for the adventurous at heart.
The villa comes equiped with Hot water on demand, which means you never run out!

My husband is retired and I am a Registered Nurse and Director of Operations in a National Home Health Company. We have been married for 22years and raised a blended family of five children. God has blessed us with twenty grandchildren. As strong Christians thank GOD fo the opportunity to own a villa in Nicaragua and pray that we are able to honor HIM with it.
Anita Worrell purchased this villa in 2011
My husband first traveled to Nicaragua in 1971 and was intrigued by the culture, however he was not able to return again until 2008 when we met up with his college roommate and friends who are originally from Nicaragua. We both fell in love instanlty with the warm people and the beautiful country and are in awe of the astonishing architechture and unique culture. We have intentions in the next few years of retiring to Nicaragua, however in the mean time thought we could enjoy our own piece of heaven. We searched tediously for a villa that was warm, inviting, elegant and close to everything and the first time we looked at it on-line we knew this was the one. Of course when you walk into Casa Anita you will see that you instantly feel at home. We decided to purchase this villa for a vacation rental and our home away from home until we retire to Nicaragua in the near future.
Casa Anita is just 1 & 1/2 block from Mercedes Cathedral and 3 blocks form Central Park. In Central Park you will find anything you like from Horse Carriage rides to local art and crafts. Restaurants and Night LIfe surround Central Park. Just about 6 blocks further and you are at the 7th largest lake in the world. You can take a boat ride to the Isletas (Islands) and feed the monkeys on Monkey Island, swim, fish or just admire the serenity of it. Granada is a beautiful town with great architechture and amazing history.
Just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our trip to Nicaragua. We could not have dreamed of such a trip until Mike started describing your casa, the food, the people, etc. Thank you for sharing. All was great. We ate at a different restaurant each meal except for one. Two times at the Artist’s Café for lunch. All meals were wonderful. The pool was such a nice break in the afternoon. Great idea! The last two days the temp was 95. February is really a great time.
Thank you again for making this experience possible.
My husband and I stayed a month at Casa Anita and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Casa Anita was a perfect setting to experience Granada. The home itself is beautiful and the location could not have been better. We loved the fact that you can easily walk everywhere and the nearby market and grocery store was a real plus! The kitchen accomodated our desire to cook and we loved a dip in the pool to cool off in the afternoons.
The restaurants in Granada are terrific with our favorites being Pita Pita and The Garden Cafe. The nearby bus stop was great as we ventured to Masaya on the "chicken bus" several times during our stay. For those with extra time, a morning trip with La Esperanza, a local NGO, is an eye-opening experience and provides an insight into the needs of the rural folks.
We fell in love with this lovely town and Casa Anita provides a wonderful setting in which to enjoy the culture of Granada!
We had a great time at Casa Anita and we were happy we chose this house for our first trip to Nicaragua. Casa Anita is very beautiful and peaceful inside but then right outside your door is all of the culture of Granada. We really enjoyed walking around the city, taking horse carriage rides and exploring the nearby volcano and markets. We had us and our two boys (9 and 7) and everyone had a wonderful time.
Casa Anita was a fabulous place for my family to stay . The property is beautifully furnished and well situated to enjoy Granada. We were a family of five, Mum Dad and three boys aged 16, 13 and 10 and the property had all we needed. The cleaning service was excellent and the pool was very welcoming after exploring the streets and town of Granada. We had been in Nicaragua for three weeks and it was a beautiful finish to our stay, in a country of caring , honest people.
It was delightful to sit in Casa Anita and hear the sound of horse drawn carts and people heading about town , yet not too noisy that it was intrusive. Anita and the property managers did everything they could to make us feel comfortable and content. Thank you for allowing us the pleasure of staying in your home in Granada.
I had just been in Granada about 6 weeks before, and stayed in a very nice hotel right on the square. This time I wanted something more authentic, and Casa Anita far exceeded my expectations! Casa Anita has everything you want from a hotel (proximity to everything, hot water, clean towels, pool, safety, ease of checkin / checkout) without the cons of a hotel (noise, can't come and go as you please, less privacy) and on top of that, you have your own private pool, washer / dryer, refrigerator, TVs and stereo system, WiFi... what else could you need? After paying more for a hotel room than I paid for Casa Anita, I feel almost ripped off. Couldn't believe the beauty of this home, and it is in a perfect location to see the market, Iglesia Merced, Calle Calzada, all the restaurants and bars / shopping areas, and on a very safe street. I even had a few Nicaraguan friends comment on what a great location it was! Air conditioners are perfect for sleeping, but otherwise the air flow of the house keeps it cool, and we even enjoyed swimming on a rainy day. I travel quite a bit, but have never felt as at home as I did in Casa Anita, and will definitely come back again and again!
Beautiful home in a perfect location! Easy walk to center of town, Merced, Calzada and all tourist attractions and a quiet oasis from busy streets.
WOW, the photos were spot on. Casa Anita was just perfect, great location, clean, the pool was beautiful. Makes me want to remove my dining room and replace it with an indoor pool. Beware of electricity costs, my only complaint. We only ran A/C at night and exceeded our allowance, we only stayed 3 nights!
Traveled with 2 recent high school graduates. We never felt unsafe walking around Granada. Food was very good, loved El Tercer OJO.
Took a trip to Masaya market. It is not as big as led to believe. You will have "a personal shopper" escort you throughout your day there. Did purchase a hammock chair for $15.
Boat trip to isletas at 3pm, monkeys were out to entertain. Tried to do the night tour of Masaya volcano but was closed for a private function. We did hear from others that Mombacho was a good trip.
Go around the corner to experience the chaos of the locals market.
Do climb the steep spiral staircase of Iglesia La Merced for a view of the city.
We did get to witness a funeral procession to the cathedral. A beautiful horse drawn carriage, black glass hearse decorated with huge flower arrangements.
Granada is a very busy, noisy city. It is very hot and you will need to keep the sliding doors open to let the breeze go through, it also lets the noise in. It's all worth it! You will have the occasional local trying to sell you something through the gates, just ignore them, they will go away. I moved the chaise lounge to block the pool area.
Enjoy Casa Anita. For the same price of a hotel room you can have a private home with a swimming pool in the middle of it. I was seeking a true Nicaraguan feel in the place that I stayed, Casa Anita far exceeded that
Easily walk to central park or access taxis and horse drawn carriages right in front of Casa Anita. No need to rent a car unless planning some out of town travel.
