Tobago is the smaller of the two islands that make up the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Fortuitously located outside the hurricane belt, in the Southern Caribbean, the island enjoys gorgeous tropical conditions year-round. The average annual temperatures are 73°F to 89°F (23°C to 32°C).
Tobago’s Crown Point International Airport is serviced by major airlines from destinations in both the United States and Europe, including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Caribbean Airlines, and more. For those enjoying a stay on both Trinidad and Tobago, air shuttle service is available for $25USD (each way) on Caribbean Airlines.
The airport is only a short 10 minute drive from your holiday home at Cliff Cottage.
English is the island’s primary language.
One could spend an entire holiday just enjoying the serenity of Cliff Cottage with family or friends– enjoying the sparkling pool or the golden sunsets. This is the Personal Beach House of a Trinidadian Family. We live in Trinidad and love spending time here whenever it's available. We adore our home and it shows. We have decorated it and maintain it to the highest standards. Our home is operated by a management company, but we offer our personal attention and concierge support for our overseas guests.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 1991
This property was purchased from the Original developer of Mount Irvine, who chose this as the location in which to build his dream home. We were fortunate to acquire this 'one of a kind property' and nicknamed it 'Villa Paradis', but Cliff Cottage is the Original name. It is located in arguably the most desired location on the island. It features a Breathtaking, Staggered Panoramic view of the most beautiful bay on the Island (Mount Irvine), as well as of the largest reef (Buccoo Reef) . It also overlooks the best Surfing in the Caribbean- World renowned Mount Irvine beach. Kids love spending time in the pool, adults are equally mesmerized by the Stunning Ocean View and Spectacular Sunsets. The predominant trade winds are 'offshore' on this side of the island, and so there is never any 'sea blast' or sticky feeling to the air. The home is only 10 minutes drive from the Airport, and 15 minutes drive from Scarborough (the Capitol).
Panoramic View of a Mount Irvine and Buccoo Reef. Spectacular Sunsets (the Property faces directly West), Tranquility, Fishing Boats returning on evenings, Sailboats, Surfing, Lush tropical manicured garden, Lots of Birds. . .
We rented Cliff Cottage for 6 nights in early April and rate our overall experience at this property as excellent. The rental agents and owner were extremely helpful in answering questions and providing whatever we needed before and during our stay. The house is very comfortably furnished, well maintained and is more beautiful than the listing photos depict. The property has two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms in the main house and a third bedroom and full bath in a detached cottage. We were three couples staying at the property and we enjoyed the privacy the floorplan of the house allowed. We spent most of our days on the large porch overlooking the ocean, beautifully landscaped grounds, flowers, and birds. Cool breezes went through the house and porch all day and we were so comfortable that we only managed to do minimal sightseeing. We did drive to the Argyle Falls area (located on the Scarborough side of the island) to tour a chocolate plantation. It took us about an hour to reach the plantation and the roads are narrow and winding but the views are beautiful. We also visited a fort in Plymouth which was only a short drive from the property. We ate twice at the Fishpot Restaurant - a 10 minute walk from the property - but mostly we did our own cooking and grilled fresh fish we bought from the local fishermen. We ventured into Crown Point once to buy groceries and access an ATM but found it very busy and commercial. There is a sandy beach across the street from the property and we swam there several times. We hope to return to this property again and would recommend it highly.
This 3 bedroom home is perfect for someone who is not into the resort style of vacationing. We stayed here for 6 days and loved every second of it from the minute we walked through the door! The location is perfect. You can walk to the beach, drive to the city, a short drive to all the tourist spots and all the nicer restaurants on the island - try the seahorse inn. The house is super clean, safe with a lush garden but the view was amazing... every night we sat watching the sunset drinking our rum. This place is a must!
