Rosario House Rental Photos and Description
House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
You can't get any closer to the water than this house which sits on a secluded point with 180º views up and down Eastsound. Originally built as an architect's retirement dream home, it is set on beautiful acreage of forested property full of red-barked Madrona trees and Douglas Firs at the end of a private driveway, the house is located in the popular Rosario Shores area, down a scenic gravel road, about 3/4 miles from Rosario Resort and Marina, about a 1.5 mile walk to Moran Park, and about a 15 minute drive into Eastsound. It has decks on all sides of the house, and from the front, which sits 20 feet above the water, you can watch the otters, seals, cranes, eagles, and occasionally loons. The property sits along a well-traveled deer path, and they can be viewed while you relax in the deck-mounted hot tub. There is stairway beach access to the private (rocky) beach down a short path. The house was built in the 1970's to showcase modern Northwest design of that era, including masterful teak woodwork in the kitchen and master bath areas, and raised covered walkways over a garden courtyard of Japanese Maple and Irises. The interior was renovated by later owners, the latest project including massive picture windows added to open views north and south in nearly every room. The living room is large, comfortable, and bright. Although this house could accommodate more, we have listed it as a maximum of 6 occupants due to a conditional rental permit placed on the house by the County. That means that it can very comfortably sleep 6. The photos tell more about the house as there is too much to list, but it could be said that this is an ideal vacation rental for those who want a very nice Orcas Island vacation experience.

In 1972, when I was just 7, my parents bought a vacation property next door, and I've been coming back here ever since. In 2010, I bought this house (next door) because we wanted to keep the house and adjoining property with the family. The area has been very special for me growing up, and now I have a wife and kids of my own who absolutely love coming here, so I know that this place inspires a special magic for kids and adults alike. I have seen some beautiful and exotic locations around the globe, but inevitably my thoughts gravitate towards this place. It is hard to describe the feeling you get from 'unwinding' on this island, but if you stay here for awhile, you will understand what people mean when they say they can actually feel the stress leaving their body after a few days.
