Our stay in Punta Cana was amazing! Santa Maria is a great community close to everything in the modernised area of Bavaro El Cortecito. The beach is beautiful and packed with things to do in the day from parasailing to fishing to water taxi boats which take you up and down the coast and stop at local spots along the way. The local buses take you around town for a buck each way and there are several good restaurants to dine at.
Nightlife consisted of shooting pool and singing karaoke with the local expats at Danny's, next door is a great bakery with cakes and treats to keep one coming back for more.
The condo was as advertised and the people at Reliable Realty did everything possible to make our stay memorable, from excursions to helpful tips to enrich our stay. We recommend their services for anyone who wishes to have a great time away from home.

Our stay at this condo was a delight! Everything that was promised came true. The condo had everything one could want- step off the plane and turn the key and off to the beach we went. The area where this is located couldn't be better, it is safe and very Americanised as far as stores and restaurants and shopping. Everyone is very friendly and there is plenty to do during the day and at night we would go to Danny's or Liquidos and have cocktails and watch the happenings. So many people speak English and even the local buses proved worthwhile allowing us to get around town safely and for only $1 each way. The office of Reliable Realty rented this to us and were so helpful in everyway possible, even setting us up on excursions which were just amazing! The team of Todd and Maria Williams and their office manager Tracey were there for us every step of the way which made this vacation the most memorable of all- thanks guys!
We will definately go back to Punta Cana soon.
I really enjoyed my time in the DR at this apartment. I had previously stayed in all-inclusives because that was all I knew. Staying away from the resorts made for an entirely different/better experience for me. I was able to spend more time getting to know the area and the people. I ate really great food at La Posada de Gladys which is a 7 minute walk, had great Mofongo in a restaurant at the plaza by the Mangu Disco. There was a nice fruit stand at the end of our street where you can also by anything from toilet papper to rum.
Each day we went to the beach through El Pulpo Cojo, no pressure from them to buy anything, but we did and although pricier than the local fare, it was pretty good. The beach there is beautiful and there was shade to be found when the sun got too hot. Next door to Pulpo is the Vista Lounge, great to hang out and sip a couple beers or a mojito and watch the huge variety of vacationers in their bathing suit fashion show!
The apartment was exactly as advertised, clean and well equipt. I would definitely recommend this as a great way to experience the area. You don't need a car, because all you really need is within a 15 minute walk, and driving in the DR is crazy. Besides, there are always motortaxis around for the brave of heart.
The property managers were great and really friendly. They had some useful insights about the area and helped me get my bearings. I will certainly contact them again on my next visit, and it will be soon!
Car Not Necessary
El Cortecito & Los Corales are directly next to each other. They are both considered the safe & friendly tourist / expat towns of Punta Cana. This is the area where several beach accesses, shopping, groceries, numerous dining options and activities are located all within a safe 2-15 minute walk. Please Note: If you are flying into Santo Domingo, it is a 4 hour drive to Punta Cana & Punta Cana does not have any official addresses. It is recommended to fly directly into Punta Cana Intl. Airport & prearrange with us transportation with an English speaking driver who knows the area well. Most Taxi drivers only know where the resorts are & not the names of condo communities or Plazas.
