The kitchen is farmhouse style, with a restored antique stove, original cabinetry, and a salvaged wood bar. The bathroom has a full size tub and plenty of space. Outside, you have your own deck with built-in benches and a small front yard that is secure and private, opening out to Griffith Park Blvd, just 2 blocks north of Sunset Junction in Silverlake.
Sunset Junction is a neighborhood hub, with Cafe Stella and Intelligentsia coffee, as well as a boutique called Driftwood, the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, and the Silverlake Cheese store. Even closer is Cafe Casbah, Forage, Pazzo Gelato, Naturewell, and Vacation Vinyl records. We have the Silverlake Farmer's market once a week, right around the corner. There is a wealth of great boutiques, restaurants, and bars within an easy (slight downhill) 5 minute walk from the building.
For kids, there is Shane's Inspiration, pony rides, a carousel, the Zoo, and the Museum of the West just 2.2 miles from the building in Griffith Park.

We began restoring buildings in Silverlake in 1997, but it's been a lifelong passion. Tim has a background in set decorating and woodworking. Robin has a background in Art Direction and loves gardening. We use salvaged/eco-friendly building materials, antique furnishings, and green cleaning products whenever possible.
We have many years of experience as landlords and hosts, and are known for being responsive, service-minded, and reasonable with pricing and management.
We love this part of Silverlake because we can walk almost everywhere we need to go, but when we need to drive, the 5, 101, 110, and 134 freeways are very close by. We've always loved the trees, the architecture, and the neighborhood feel of SIlverlake.
There's an innate sense of calm in this building, maybe because it's held up for almost 100 years. We love the view, the convenience, and the proximity to the 'flow' of the city. It makes for great work and family trips. Whether you are interested in architecture, sightseeing, music, food, wine, artisan boutiques, or the outdoors, Silverlake has all of this and more to offer... we love this building in particular because it's so central and it has great character and style.
This property is 2 miles from Griffith Park, with hiking trails, horseback riding, the Zoo, the Observatory, the Autry Museum, Travel Town, the Carousel, and Shane's Inspiration. Loads of fun for everyone. It's also nearby Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House in Barnsdall Park, MOCA, Disney Hall, The Echo/Echoplex, and Amoeba in Hollywood. Lots to look forward to.
