Philadelphia House Boat Rental Photos and Description

Pisces Houseboat by SleepAfloat

Fun and funky SleepAfloat houseboat located in the heart of Old City Philadelphia. This area is a place of unique people, significant history, charming shops, intriguing night life, and loads of entertainment. You will be steps away from Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell, and many other historical sights.

The houseboat's eleven foot ceilings with exposed beams, ceiling fans and air conditioning, provide a feeling of spaciousness and comfort. A full size refrigerator, sink, microwave and cook-top stove makes cooking easy. It has a comfortably sized bathroom with a full size shower.

The Master Bedroom has a queen sized bed, closet storage and a patio door leading to a private deck. Two twin beds in the sleeping loft are a great spot for kids, and the sleep sofa and aero-bed provide additional sleeping options. The well appointed houseboat provides a calming respite after a day full of activity. Imagine relaxing on the roof deck, drink in hand, enjoying your own private sunset!

Steps from the boat are Independence Hall, Independence Visitor Center, the National Constitution Center, the Liberty Bell Center and more of the countless historical attractions the Old City District has to offer. You will also be staying in Historic Penn's Landing, with numerous sites including a 19th Century Portuguese Fishing ship being restored.

The marina location: The Piers Marina’s sheltered, locked gate opens onto Columbus Boulevard, a riverfront thoroughfare. Right outside the gate is La Veranda, a fine Italian restaurant. About two blocks south is the Moshulu, a retired square rigger that’s permanently docked as a floating restaurant. Between the two eateries is the Independence Seaport Museum, with its two showpiece warships: the century-old battleship Olympia and the World War II submarine Becuna. In the same complex is housed the Workshop on the Water, where professional shipwrights and volunteers restore old boats, many of local interest. These are but a teaser for the attractions that lie west of Columbus Boulevard.

From The Piers Marina gate, it is an easy six-minute walk up a set of stairs and across a bridge to the bus stop at the corner of Second and Market streets, the hub of Philadelphia’s Old City section. From here — by foot, bus or subway— it is an effortless trip to scores of fascinating destinations.

All the amenities of home! : We provide an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, and loads of bathroom products such as soaps, shampoos, and lotions. All linens and towels are also provided. We even include lots of cooking ingredients such as coffee, condiments, etc... All this for less than the price of the smallest rooms at any of the nearby downtown waterfront hotels!

There is one parking spot that comes with this rental and a parking lot down the street with daily rates.

Fun and Chic in Old City Philadelphia! : It is truly our goal that every guest have an exceptional and memorable experience, so come, relax away your tensions, inhale pure sea air and nautical vibes, 'chill' in an outdoor, relaxing setting during the most picturesque time of the year! Ahhhh... Think outside the hotel box on your vacations! With locations in 4 cities and quickly growing, come Sleep Afloat! with us! Please note: We always keep our calendar up to date, so please check calendar before contacting us to make sure the dates you want are available! Also, unless it is a last minute inquiry, please email us initially rather than phone us!

We had a wonderful stay. The location is ideal with only a short walk to historic Market Street and easy access to I95. The double bed got rave reviews for comfort. It was a little snug with 6 people and a dog, but we expected that. There is some rocking (also expected), but not enough to be bothersome unless you're really sensitive. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed starting our day with a big breakfast before venturing out for sightseeing. Also, everyone we encountered on the docks were very friendly and welcoming.

Absolutely loved this houseboat -- conveniently located to Penns Landing and a short stroll to Market Street and historic Philly. Everything we could ask for was included -- coffee, tea, condiments. Ryan couldn't have been more accommodating. Would recommend this to anyone, and we hope to try out the other houseboat locations!!!

Guestbook comments from the manager

My visit to Philly was work related, but decided to try a houseboat instead of a local hotel. I highly recommend the Pisces for business, friends or family. I was more than comfortable and felt very safe.I had no worries utilizing public transit and learned a lot about Philly. I hope to come back again with my family. Kids would love it!

Great accommodations

  • 5 of 5
We wanted a place where 5 women could stay and socialize and it was perfect. It was clean, comfortable, attractive, and well set up. There was plenty of towels, linens, and the kitchen was complete with everything we would need. It has a coffee pot which makes individual cups and although they had plenty of the little coffees, we went thru all and could have used more. We had brought our own but not that type.

It rained the entire time but we were snug and enjoyed the gentle rocking and the sound of the rain on the roof. It must be fabulous when you can sit outside and enjoy the water.

The location has to be the best in town too!! If it hadn't rained the whole time we would have been able to walk to the historic district and all the shops and restaurants in Old Town.

Thanks for a great
Time aboard Pisces.
The Soul Sistas from Pasadena.

Great alternative

  • 5 of 5
I found this alternative after a frustrating attempt at finding hotel accommodations during a busy convention week in the city. The houseboat was well appointed and clean; the surrounding neighbors friendly without being too nosy and best of all, quiet. We enjoyed a splendid week with great weather and it was especially nice not to have to be at the mercy of finding restaurants for every meal. TV and wi-fi worked very well and had more than enough bandwidth to accommodate two very gadget happy people. I would do this again in a heartbeat!!!

Very fun stay. Great location especially when the ball park across the river had fireworks! Houseboat had everything we needed although we did forget about the motion. I can still feel the boat rocking!

Owner's Response: Thanks Tammy! We are moving the boat in a couple weeks to a much more protected part of the marina so it should cut down on the motion. Glad you enjoyed your stay!
