Fun and funky SleepAfloat houseboat located in the heart of Old City Philadelphia. This area is a place of unique people, significant history, charming shops, intriguing night life, and loads of entertainment. The houseboat's eleven foot ceilings with exposed beams, ceiling fans and air conditioning, provide a feeling of spaciousness and comfort. A full size refrigerator, sink, microwave and cook-top stove makes cooking easy. It has a comfortably sized bathroom with a full size shower.
The Master Bedroom has a queen sized bed, closet storage and a patio door leading to a private deck. Two twin beds in the sleeping loft are a great spot for kids, and the sleep sofa and aero-bed provide additional sleeping options. The well appointed houseboat provides a calming respite after a day full of activity. Imagine relaxing on the roof deck, drink in hand, enjoying your own private sunset!
Steps from the boat are Independence Hall, Independence Visitor Center, the National Constitution Center, the Liberty Bell Center and more of the countless historical attractions the Old City District has to offer. You will also be staying in Historic Penn's Landing, with numerous sites including a 19th Century Portuguese Fishing ship being restored.
The marina location: The Piers Marina’s sheltered, locked gate opens onto Columbus Boulevard, a riverfront thoroughfare. Right outside the gate is La Veranda, a fine Italian restaurant. About two blocks south is the Moshulu, a retired square rigger that’s permanently docked as a floating restaurant. Between the two eateries is the Independence Seaport Museum, with its two showpiece warships: the century-old battleship Olympia and the World War II submarine Becuna. In the same complex is housed the Workshop on the Water, where professional shipwrights and volunteers restore old boats, many of local interest. These are but a teaser for the attractions that lie west of Columbus Boulevard.
From The Piers Marina gate, it is an easy six-minute walk up a set of stairs and across a bridge to the bus stop at the corner of Second and Market streets, the hub of Philadelphia’s Old City section. From here — by foot, bus or subway— it is an effortless trip to scores of fascinating destinations.

We had a wonderful stay. The location is ideal with only a short walk to historic Market Street and easy access to I95. The double bed got rave reviews for comfort. It was a little snug with 6 people and a dog, but we expected that. There is some rocking (also expected), but not enough to be bothersome unless you're really sensitive. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed starting our day with a big breakfast before venturing out for sightseeing. Also, everyone we encountered on the docks were very friendly and welcoming.

Absolutely loved this houseboat -- conveniently located to Penns Landing and a short stroll to Market Street and historic Philly. Everything we could ask for was included -- coffee, tea, condiments. Ryan couldn't have been more accommodating. Would recommend this to anyone, and we hope to try out the other houseboat locations!!!
