Experience an old fashioned family cottage vacation. Relax and enjoy an 1100 sq.ft. cottage in a private wooded setting with over 100' of lakefront on one of Northern Michigan's largest lakes.

Sit on the patio overlooking the lawn running down to the natural lakefront.

Explore beautiful Burt Lake with with its 35 miles of shoreline. Burt Lake is part the Inland Waterway, Michigan's longest chain of rivers and lakes more than 40 miles long. Located on Burt Lake's west shore, the Maple Bay boat ramp is close by.

Swim off the dock in a shallow sandy bottomed lake. The lake is perfect for waterskiing and tubing. Kayaking and canoeing are ideal right from shore.

Colonial Point and Chaboiganing Nature Preserves are close by for hiking or snowshoeing.

For golfers the area of northern Michigan has 18 spectacular courses. Golf Magazine has called the area #2 in the entire country for concentrated golf quality.

It is a twenty minute drive to downhill Boyne Highlands and Nub's Knob.

This location is within 30 minutes of Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Mackinaw City and the ferries to Mackinac Island. Enjoy shopping restaurants, movies, and local theater.

About The Owner

We live in California, but I grew up in Michigan. Every year we escape with our family to our wonderful secret place, Burt Lake.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2011
Why The Owner chose Burt Lake

My parents lived near Burt Lake for 40 years and it is my perfect place for relaxation. We hope to live here part time in a few years.

What makes this cottage unique

For runners the 5 mile Indian Trail Road loop is an enjoyable route.

We had a perfect vacation here! The views of Burt Lake are spectacular, the patio was a perfect place to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds, with fires in the evening. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and it had all the amenities. What a wonderful, peaceful, and beautiful place to get away from home and relax. It was a great location on a private drive, and we were within 30 miles from area attractions; Mackinaw, Petoskey, Boyne, Cheboygan. I recommend this cottage looking to get away!!!

Nice Cotttage on the Lake

My husband and I just spent a lovely week at this serene property. The house is well equipped and ready to enjoy, including grill, lawn furniture, and floats for the lake. We particularly enjoyed the sunroom overlooking the lake as well as the great outdoor patio. The house is in a private setting surrounded by lovely trees complete with perennials blooming on the patio. Although the bedrooms are a bit small and some of the furnishings dated, the house has a nice cottage feel.We found the owners very responsive and a joy to work with. An added bonus are the walking paths in the forest reserve a block away. Great property for a couple or a small family. We had a great dinner at Lake Douglas Steakhous and many fun meals at Hoppies on Lake Burt. Pellston airport is 20 minutes away and the little town of Pellston has a nice small market and a great little shop that sells gourmet wine, cheese, and ready made foods that are great!
