This second story, two bedroom residence is nestled among the stately willow oaks of Myers Park, where curving avenues, gracious homes and small parks combine to make one of the most liveable neighborhoods in the South.
Located 1 mile from Uptown, home to multiple museums, the convention center, Bobcats Arena and the Epicentre entertainment complex, Myers Park is where generations of prominent Charlotteans have made their home since the neighborhood was created by famous landscape architect John Nolen in 1911.
We've maintained the character of the historic 1920's apartment building, while completely updating and renovating the interior. Stainless appliances with granite countertops, new heating and cooling systems and plumbing provide modern amenities, while the original refinished hardwoods, plaster walls, bathroom tile, high ceilings and 2-panel doors provide the charm so often absent in new construction.
In addition to large double-hung windows throughout the home, a sunroom with floor-to-ceiling windows lets in an abundance of light, while the adjacent balcony allows you to enjoy the outside, whether for breakfast in the morning or for a drink or meal in the evening. Since the apartment is located on the second floor, to the rear of the building, it's quiet and private. Off-street parking is also provided.
The galley kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, etc., a professional-grade gas range with convection oven, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, disposal, and a stackable washer and dryer. Off of the kitchen, a dining area comfortably seats four but can seat up to six.
In the spacious living room, upholstered furniture provides comfortable seating and the sofa makes into a comfortable queen sleeper and an internet enabled 3-D flatscreen television offers streaming Netflx and Hulu as well as other options. We hope you'll enjoy the fully stocked bar, too.
A desk (wifi included) in the adjacent sunroom enables business travelers to work in a beautiful tree-top setting, and another small sofa makes into a small double bed suitable for an average adult or two small children.
400-thread-count linens and thick Egyptian cotton towels offer all of the comforts of home, and each bedroom has a generous closet and a television. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, the second offers two twins.
Wide sidewalks and towering oaks throughout the neighborhood provide an ideal place for walking or jogging, and a coffee shop, multiple restaurants (including Ethiopian, Thai, casual and fine Italian, etc.), shopping and even an independent movie theater are a half mile away. Spring through fall, a farmers market is open Wed, Fri and Sat around the corner from the apartment, and a new greenway offers a convenient connection to Freedom Park, Dilworth and Carolinas Medical Center.
Ideal for short- or long-term stays for business or pleasure, or when visiting someone at either CMC or Presbyterian Hospitals, our goal is for you to feel at home during your stay. We'll try hard to accommodate almost any special request and we live less than 2 miles away, so are readily available should something come up. We look forward to hosting you.

We travel extensively and prefer staying in apartments rather than hotels when we travel. Upon our return from a month renting a great place in Istanbul last summer, we decided to Offer our property on VRBO. We are Green Developers who enjoy meeting new people and introducing them to our fair city. I'm a native Charlottean so can help provide a true local's perspective during your visit, which can be especially helpful for people relocating to Charlotte. Our clean and comfortable properties are located near Uptown Charlotte, in very walkable and safe neighborhoods. We try our best to provide a true home away from home. Thanks in advance for your interest and we look forward to hosting you
Jim Hock purchased this condo in 1997
Charlotte has been our home for 40+ years for Jim and 20+ years for James , and we love sharing our city with other travelers. We feel that location is paramount in any decision to vacation, and ours is one of the most centrally located neighborhoods in the entire city. We purchased this home as a rental when we lived in the building in another unit and lived here a number of years before buying a single family home nearby.
Location, location, location. Our walkable neighborhood provides the ability to live car-free, and when a car is needed, you can get anywhere in the area in minutes. Near both hospitals and close to the Uptown business district, you'll enjoy staying in the center of everything, but in a quiet residential neighborhood. As a native Charlottean, I can help guide you around our city, and can be especially helpful for those relocating to the area.
This place is beyond amazing! The detail they put into making you feel comfortable is amazing! The unit came with a mini bar, welcome basket with my favorite biscoff style cookies, fruit and treats. The fridge was even equipped with essentials like sparkling water, OJ and butter! I was so pleased! I want to stay at every property just to get design tips! It was immaculately designed, impeccably clean and super impressive! Even the carpet in the hallway is plush! Thanks Jim & James!
Our stay in Charlotte was amazing! The apartment on Queens Rd exceeded all of our expectations. Among many things the unit was clean, cozy, charming, and comfortable.
Perfect location. Great neighborhood for walking. Jim and all of his staff understand what customer service is all about. We feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle 2015!
Four girlfriends and I recently stayed here for a weekend away and it was an excellent choice. We weren't ever far from "home" as we explored Charlotte's adorable neighborhoods (and Uptown) and the large common area with attached bedrooms provided us with the opportunity to spend time together and private space for when we needed to get a little work done or FaceTime with our toddlers. The house itself is well-appointed and well-decorated and a wonderful home away from home. I would recommend this property to anyone staying a few days in Charlotte and hope we make it back again some day!
Our apartment was modern in design, up to date, very clean and full of light - very welcoming! James, Jim and Lisa are great hosts. Lisa went out of her way to get the apartment ready early so we could get in ahead of our visiting family to check things out, and boy were we ever envious - we wanted to move in! The welcome basket and easy communications with our hosts left us with a feeling of welcome and gratitude. The central location (happens to be very close to our residence) was so convenient and close to all the amenities in and around the neighborhood. Thanks so much, and good luck with this terrific business model as an alternative to hotel living for out-of-towners visiting Charlotte. I would recommend this apartment to anyone, and we will certainly rent again when the need arises.
In a group, one always makes the executive decision concerning the accommodation and then prays it will be awesome. It was. The welcoming gifts were unexpected and very much appreciated.
The space was warm and well thought out. Everything was there; all kitchen gadgets, extra towels, sheets. I over packed as completely forgot about the washer/dryer.
I would say 6 would have been a tight squeeze, but we were 35+ yr old women so probably more space sensitive. 4 adults worked well.
The location was fantastic. You could walk to the park and Target was literally around the corner.
Brava Jim and James - we'll be back next year!
I must say, aside from the internet problems early in the week, I have really enjoyed your hospitality and commitment to excellence with this property. I rent through VRBO a lot and upon arrival I was blown away at the condition of the inside of the condo. You did a great job with renovations on this unit. I did not have any needs that were unmet. Furthermore, you chose to stock the unit with some basic foods, drinks, wine, champagne, and more! You are an exceptional example of creating a “home away from home!” Thanks for your commitment to excellence!
This is the second time this year my family and I have stayed at 500 Queens Rd, and it felt like going home! The apartment manages to be totally cool and comfortable. There is obviously a lot of care and attention paid to the decor (a lot of mid-century modern and other beautiful modern pieces). I love that they support local artists, too - the artwork everywhere is fantastic. It's clean and well maintained. We did have some problems with the internet, but Jim had Time Warner come out right away and address the issues. The location is lovely and convenient. Can't wait to come back!
