Cross the working swing bridge onto Southport Island, Maine for the vacation of a lifetime. Relax in our chic, oceanfront home beautifully designed with soaring windows and open floor plan. Linger on two large wraparound decks and watch ospreys dive for fish and bald eagles soar above the water. See luxury yachts and working lobster boats cruise into scenic Ebenecook Harbor. Five well appointed bedrooms and five private baths assure comfort and privacy for families and groups. Separate office with wifi and tv for those who just can't fully escape.

Walk to charming Hendricks Head beach and lighthouse. Visit the Southport General Store for early morning coffee, a paper and the best homemade cinnamon doughnuts you will ever try.

Southport Island is beautiful to hike, bike and boat around. Tennis courts, restaurants and even candlepin bowling are all nearby. Fish for mackerel and stripers along the shore or up the river.

Take a boat ride out to see pilot, humpback and fin whales or visit the famous retreat of many great artists, Monhegan Island.

Oh, did someone say lobster?? Get your fill at one of the many fantastic lobster shacks right on the water, including Red's Eats for the country's #1 lobster roll and Five Islands Lobster, home of the Jenny Special - you just have to try it for yourself.

About The Owner

Our extended family has summered on Southport Island since 1950. We own several properties on the island and spend as much time as we can up in Maine. When we are not there, we live and work in Connecticut with three boys and one small red dog, Gus.

The Owner purchased this house in 1999
Why The Owner chose Southport

When we open the car doors after our drive up to Maine and breathe in the clean, salty, pine scented air, we know we are home at last.

What makes this house unique

Our home is very private, yet close to the many activities available in the mid-coast of Maine. We love the solitude, but don't ever feel isolated. We enjoy any outdoor activity, but spend most of our days out on the boat, exploring the islands, coves and ocean rivers all around us.
