There is nothing else like this home in all of Key West: Card-only access to your assigned spaces in the parking garage, a private elevator that opens into your own 3300 square foot condo, window walls throughout the home, and private roof terrace with pool and stunning view of the City of Key West. 'The Steamplant' building at 281 Trumbo Road, overlooking the Historic Seaport, is Key West's most exclusive and fashionable gated community and this luxurious home is the only condo available for vacation rental. All of this located at the Historic Seaport, just steps from Old Town's restaurants, theater, galleries and all that shopping on Duval Street.

THE LIVING AREA...

As you step out of the private elevator directly into your foyer, you’ll be struck by the modern stairs that seem to float up to the second level. There’s a powder room in the foyer as well. The living area boasts 13-foot ceilings and window walls on two sides. The spacious balcony has dining for six. In the kitchen, no expense has been spared to satisfy the most demanding chef, with state of the art appliances, custom cabinets and everything needed to prepare that memorable gourmet meal.

THE PRIVATE ROOFTOP TERRACE & POOL…

After dinner, you can take your elevator to the private roof terrace, with its commanding view of the Historic Seaport District. The pool is elevated, so you’ll be able enjoy those stunning views without leaving the water. The terrace is large enough to entertain, but if you need even more space, you’ll also have access to the community terrace.

THE ACCOMMODATIONS...

The first bedroom is located on the main level, with two twin beds, a private balcony and an en-suite bathroom. You can take the elevator or those beautiful floating stairs to the second level, where you will find the master bedroom, with a king bed, private balcony and large en-suite bathroom with two separate vanities, large shower and Jacuzzi tub. The third bedroom is also on the second level, with king bed, private balcony and en-suite bathroom.

Last Key Realty requires a deposit of 50% of the rental total in order to hold the reservation, and the remaining balance is due 90 days prior to check in. Last Key Realty accepts payment via most major credit cards, as well as by check. Ask about our 1.5% discount for payment by check.
Fees And Taxes 12.5% tax & end-of-rental cleaning are additional. The first $100 of electric is included in monthly rentals. Rates over special events and holidays may be higher than the seasonal rate. Final rates to be discussed upon inquiry. Rate quotes provided verbally or by email are not final until contract is signed.
Discounts may be available for non-transient monthly rentals during certain times of the year. You retain the right to use, possession and enjoyment of the home during the entire period. Space, Luxury and Location

If you are looking for location and luxury, look no farther than the Steamplant condo. This condo is well appointed with plenty of space in all rooms. The main level has a large open floor plan, lots of light in all rooms and very comfortable furnishing. We were definitely spoiled with the elevator. It became our best friend on arrival/departure day or just after a shopping trip.

Three couples (and a dog) shared this condo and we had plenty of space for spending time together. The bedrooms are very large with an en suite bath and plenty of closet and storage space. Each bedroom has a quiet spot with a chair for reading or watching TV and your own balcony if you prefer being outdoors. The air handler across from the unit is somewhat noisy, but we viewed it as white noise. When the sliding glass doors were closed you could not hear any outside noise. The kitchen has top end appliances and is well stocked with everything needed whether we were just having a snack or cooking a full meal.

Wow! You cannot say enough about that rooftop terrace. It is a sun worshippers dream. We had a fantastic view of KW with a front row seat for the fantastic sunsets. We also had the advantage of utilizing the common areas to watch the sunsets (no crowds to content with!)  What a way to end the day…watching the sunset while grilling dinner. We were able to see the cruise ships as they pulled into or out of port. Even though the pool is small it did allow for a refreshing dip. The terrace could only be improved with the addition of some greenery to give it a more homey feel and a bit more shade for the times when you’ve had your sun quota for the day.

We were just a very short walk from Duval St, Mallory Square and all the shopping and restaurants you could want. Even though you are in the heart of the city you can still enjoy an early morning bike ride down Duval which allows you to see the other “quieter” side of Duval. We took walks along the harbor to look at all the beautiful boats.

Shel, our guest services manager, is a real sweetheart. He gave us tips on restaurants including some new ones that had opened since the previous year. He is very accommodating and was always there to make our stay perfect.

Overall, the condo was comfortable with everything we needed to make our stay a very pleasant carefree time. We are already looking forward to our return stay next year.
