Maya purchased this cottage in 2011
We were especially drawn to the private beach front that is landscaped with tropical vegetation.
The Maya Beach Cottage is cozy and cost effective with all the amenities to do your own cooking as desired. At the same time there are excellent restaurants within walking distance and many sea-going, Mayan, and jungle excursions nearby. Placencia has interesting boutiques for purchasing Belizean, Mayan, and Guatemalan arts and crafts.
This is a laid-back, cost-effective choice for staying in Placencia on the Caribbean Sea coast. The property has good beach exposure, great views of False Caye off the coast, and easy access to the amenities at the Singing Sands Inn next door.
The cabin is well-equipped, with plenty of towels, pots & pans, and bedding. The futon folds out into a bed, which our kids slept on quite well.
There is no air conditioning, but the entire cottage is designed around cooling and airflow. Being there in the winter as we were, the temperatures were always good inside, and this wasn't a problem. The internet worked well -- good ping and downlink, if quite slow upload speeds.
All in all we were happy with the Maya Moon, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy coastal spot from which to base their Placencia explorations.
