House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-8)

This unique log cabin is nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains along the shores of Riffe Lake. The previous owner custom built this cozy getaway cabin using timbers and rock found right here within the Mossyrock valley. Your family will enjoy relaxing around the handcrafted rock fireplace which stretches to the vaulted ceilings, eating meals at the breakfast bar, large wooden dining room table, or on the deck over looking the lake. Sleep in one of the two bedrooms each with its own unique design, or in the loft. Kids will enjoy an exciting game of air hockey upstairs in the family room surrounded with skylights and windows. The fully furnished kitchen is equipped with a Jenn Air stove-great for indoor grilling, plenty of counter space and a favorite place for enjoying conversations with family and friends. A full sized washer and dryer is included. Enjoy roasting marshmallows or hot dogs around the fire pit with the lake in the back ground. There is plenty of lush green lawn to play bocce ball or croquet or just watch deer nibble from the fruit trees. Whether visiting while the oak trees are aflame with vibrant autumn colors or just enjoying the lazy days of summer on the lake, you will be surrounded by nature's beauty.

You will find a wide range of recreational activities in the area -- fishing either on Riffe Lake (boat access is only 10 minutes away at Mossyrock Park) or just walk half a block to Swafford Pond (great for kids of all ages), hiking up to a nearby falls, boating , jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking on the lake or just relaxing and taking in the spectacular view.

Beautiful places to see in the area include Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helen's National Park, Apes Cave underground lava tubes, and Gifford-Pinchot National Forest. Don't forget seasonal White Pass Ski Resort or rent inner-tubes at Paradise(located at the south end of Mt. Rainier). During the summer, enjoy the Mossyrock Blueberry Festival, Morton's Lumberjack Weekend, Mineral's Jazz Festival, and much more.

This house was so stunning when we first walked into it. The Riffe Lake area is beautiful and has so many things to do.

What makes this house unique

We love to sit in front of the fireplace in the winter and talk for hours with our family and friends. We also have fun playing cards at the large table with the whole family. We also enjoy bundling up during the winter and taking walks around Swafford pond. During the summer, we also like to eat out on the deck with the family while looking out at Riffe Lake and Mt Rainier. The fire pit is also fun to sit around and roast marshmellows.

My Husband and I have stayed at this cabin for a week last year and a week this year. 2011 and 2012 -I fell in love with this cabin as soon as I seen it. I like how much room it has for get togethers. Love the large front room with fireplace. It has a Ben Cartwright fire place ! Love the log walls. The kitchen is so nice with a big breakfast bar. Love the furniture as it has a large wood dinning table with lots of chairs for a large family if needed. My Husband liked the two lakes to go fishing and boating. Liked watching the deer that were there this fall when we were there too.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Stayed one week in the summer and another week in the fall at this beautiful rental property. It is a beautiful log house in a quiet country setting, Has a beautiful view of Riffe Lake and within walking distance to the lake and Swafford Pond with both providing great fishing. Nice and quiet with great accommodations. Large living room with large fireplace, modern kitchen and dinning room with views of the mountains. We have seen deer in the yard in the evenings. Cozy and warm in the fall and cool and comfortable in the summer. A great place to relax or for a vacation with fishing and hiking. We plan to visit here again.
