Comfortable - Bright - Clean!
Newly remodeled (new carpet, tile floors, totally new bathroom) and so sweet a retreat from winter's grip. This getaway house is located in NE Ocala, half way from the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, 4 mi from downtown Ocala, 4 mi from historic Silver Springs, 2 hr from Disney and minutes from the Ocala National Forest, the Villages Retirement Community, horse farms, Gainesville, and many parks, natural lakes and springs. Consider a short drive to Crystal River/Homosassa Springs and see the manitees, or drop in a fishing line at Cedar Key. Don't forget to check out the great antiques at Micanopy, take a coastal drive along Daytona Beach and enjoy a show and dinner at the Villages. And yes, there are 'real' mermaids at Weekiwachee Springs and a swim park to enjoy.
This soothing retreat will be a home base that you will want to come back to often. Enjoy the convenience of town while being minutes from nature.

As a Florida native, I grew up in the Ocala National Forest and spent much of my youth exploring the natural beauty and attractions in Florida. After moving out of state, my idea of having a pristine and ideally located place to run to that is close to everything was realized when my wife and I bought the property and set about making renovations that would change an older home into a charming retreat. It is now a perfect spot for that much needed down time.
You can't beat the quality, location and cost of this sweet place. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

Its proximity to 'The Natural Florida'. Close to Florida's natural springs, hiking, biking, kayaking in the Ocala National Forest. Hikers/bikers/nature lovers/antique shoppers paradise in nearby Micanopy, close to Gainesville, comfortable day trip and back to Weeki Wachee State Park, Homosassa Springs, Cedar Key, Tarpon Springs, Ormond/Daytona Beaches, Cape Canaveral (Kennedy Space Center), St. Augustine/Jacksonville Beaches and more.
Visit friends or take in a show at The Villages across town.
Extremely clean. Charming and convenient to Silver Springs, horse farms and natural Florida outdoor recreation as well as St. Augustine and Jacksonville.
At first my husband and I were skeptical, renting a house on line for a two week stay. But what a gem we found! House was everything we could have asked for. Comfortable, quiet and a perfect spot. Golf courses are within a half hour away, and it is just far enough away from town, yet close enough. I would definitely recommend this home. Hope to return next year.
My husband and I recently stayed for our spring vacation. Everything was as described and we enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage was very conveniently located for our activities and very clean, comfortable, newly renovated and nicely decorated. We really appreciate having the opportunity to stay at the lovely cottage. Our host, Candice was very kind, helpfully and great to work with.
I enjoyed my stay in this clean, comfortable, well-maintained home. It is within 1/2 hour drive to some of the beautiful Florida state parks including Silver River State Park and Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings home, and is also close to the many lakes and rivers within the Ocala Forest. A grocery store and other necessities are within a 15 minute drive. It was a nice, peaceful home base for my excursions to the parks and rivers.
We had a great stay in Ocala. The house is very nicely renovated and is very comfortable, with good appliances. We enjoyed biking at the nearby Santos Trails, just about every day. We did miss local TV for our fav shows after a long day on the trails. Our host, Candice was great to work with.
Nice little house with all the basics and more. Comfortable bed, quiet neighborhood and nice neighbor.
Centrally located for exploring FL. We enjoyed relaxing on the patio in the afternoon shade and we hated to leave.
We were very pleased with the condition of the house - it was clean, comfortable and in good repair with all the amenities of home . We felt safe and secure and enjoyed the privacy of renting a house rather than staying in a hotel. The house was just as it was described and shown on the photos and the owners were very accommodating and helpful to us. The property was located about 10 minutes drive from the Ocala town centre on a quiet residential street, which was what we were told and was quite near to the Ocala forest with lots of walking trails etc. We explored a number of state parks around Ocala and were very impressed with the activities available and wildlife - it's a great area to visit. The only downside to the property was that the outside area was not very conducive to sitting outside - there was a concrete slab which served as a patio but no bushes, flowers or other garden development to enjoy. We would have like to have been able to sit and eat outside - especially escaping from a long Canadian winter - but there was no patio furniture available for this. I would certainly recommend this property to others - and it was certainly a romantic get-away.
