This is an apartment for the true fan of the Parisian lifestyle, rather than the casual tourist. If you've visited Paris before and made the pilgrimage to the central Paris must-sees and now want to experience life as a local, then this is the place. Because it's not in the heart of the tourist trails, the locals in this part of Montmartre treat visitors warmly and with curiosity, and the pace is a little more conducive to relaxing and enjoying the unique pleasures of Paris.
This apartment offers the space to spread out and establish a wonderfully comfortable base to explore this part of the city, from the restaurants in rue des Abessess to the world renowned antiques and art of the Marche aux Puces, which is a mere 10 minutes away by bus or taxi. At the end of the day, you can choose to wind down at any number of cafes, bistros or brasseries or visit the local market and food stores to bring back the means to create your own Parisian fare in the newly-remodelled kitchen. Afterward, you can settle in for a soak in the full-length bathtub with a glass of wine from the store downstairs.
This lovely 84m2 (900 sq ft) apartment is on the 3rd floor in a traditional Haussmann-style building, which is served by a recently-remodeled elevator, so you won't tire bringing back your purchases from the wondrous stores of the 18th and 9th. There is a fresh farmer's market across from the apartment twice a week, a wine store downstairs, and the area boasts an incredible array of food shops, butchers, and boutiques. It is also a brief stroll away from the hugely popular restaurants on the rue des Abbesses and Caulaincourt.
The apartment is elegantly furnished with both traditional and modern pieces. Original wooden floorboards and fireplaces throughout lend it true Parisian warmth and charm, and the modern bathroom and new kitchen complete the pampering. There are two bedrooms to the right off the large entryway, which also has a large storage closet. The first bedroom has a queen bed with high quality linens and pillows. The second bedroom has a large closet and two twin beds that can combine to make a king-sized bed, also with nice linens.
The modern bathroom has a large bathtub and separate rain shower and the WC is also separate, in the European style. The kitchen was remodeled in 2011 and boasts modern appliances including oven, induction range, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge. The dining area, complete with a French farmhouse table, is between the kitchen and living room, with seating for six. Perfect for cooking up French feasts! The living area faces a quiet courtyard, and the bedrooms front the street, and are protected by effective double-glazed full-length windows. The apartment enjoys sunlight in the daytime, and is kept cozy in cool evenings by radiator heating throughout.
The location is convenient to public transport (the 95 bus goes directly to the Louvre and the Left Bank, and the 31 goes straight to the Champs Elysees), and close to several Metro stops (Lamarck Caulaincourt, Jules Joffrin, Marcadet Poissoniers). In 15 minutes by bus or metro, you can be in the center of Paris. Its northern location in the city makes it incredibly convenient for the airports as well.
We love our Parisian home away from home, and hope you will enjoy it as well!

We love to cook, and the cheese shops, boulangeries, and butchers - not to mention the bi-weekly farmers' market - offer the amateur chef a dizzying array of options. The Marche aux Puces is truly a unique Parisian treasure and it literally takes months, if not years, to fully explore the market's hidden gems. The bottom line is that the apartment in Montmartre is a haven, not just from the bustle of a tourist-filled city, but from the rest of modern life's ills, thanks to its quiet charm, modern conveniences, and access to so many truly Parisian diversions.
