Nice Clean place to stay with great views

My fiance and I spent a three day weekend here over Valentines. We loved the views. They were impressive. This place is very private. You only see mtns and tress and aren't looking at houses. Inside the cabin was spottless. The housekeeper came by once to check on us and brought a bread basket.The kitchen was very spacious, offered all the appliances you would expect down to the wine opener. The furniture is nice and new. The beds are pillow top so you will definately get a goods nights rest. As always Melody provided us with excellent directions not only to the cabin but to nearby restaurants and attractions. This is our third stay with her and every time we enjoy ourselves and feel like we get a lot of bang out of our buck. Thanks Melody for doing such a good job. We really appreicate it!

The pictures are deceiving as far as the whole view. When you look to the left from the porch, you see a delapitated house and 2 other homes right down below. It isnt as private as the picture shows which was what we were looking for. The driveway was difficult getting up and down even with our chevy pick up with trailer. Also the directions were difficult as there aren't appropriate signs. The cottage was nice inside. It could have been cleaned better. We enjoyed the hot tub. The bed was comfortable. It would be a nice for hunters or fishermen. It wasnt worth the money. We won't be coming back.
Owner's Response: Yes, Barbara in housekeeping does a great job at keeping the place clean and both beds are brand new pillow top queen mattresses so I'm sure you got really good sleep especially with 500 thread count sheets. The neighbors in the distance are pretty far away, and being in such a remote area usually guests find a little comfort in seeing. The driveway is flat and wide. I've driven our huge trailer back in there when we furnished the cottage without any trouble but with all the rain we had that week maybe that caused some issues. In addition to step by step directions that uses your cars odometer to get you to the cabin there's a road side sign with Mtn View Cottages name on it, that's about all we can do to get you there safely. Had you all not forgotten my directions I'm sure you would have found the place easier. With all the discounts & facebook coupon you receive an excellent price cheaper than a motel 6. I don't know where you could stay for less. And as you can see from our other reviews everyone else really enjoys the place. I understand that you had a falling out up there with each other. I'm sorry to hear that. But lets not take it out on the cottage. That's between you 'all, not us.

Getting away from the city!

We spoke to Melody who had a last minute cancellation. If you are looking to get away from a hectic city life, this is the perfect place! 25 min from Boone, NC. We had planned to go to TN, but ended up spending more time in NC as the Cottage is on the TN/NC border. The cottage is super clean, and has all the basics. I would advise you to bring extra towels and anything special you use at home that you can't live without! We met the owner when we first arrived, very nice Man (sorry I am horrible with names) We visited Grandfather Mountain and hiked at Julian Price Memorial Park, MP 297. **Blueridge Parkway**
Try to arrive at the cottage before It gets dark, It will be easier to find, and follow Melody's directions.
Recommended for:  Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers

Recently just stayed here and loved it. The views are really much nicer than pictured. Spacious, comfortable furnishing, and loved the jacuzzi bath tub. Easy to find and convenient to get around. Melody does a great job too with her area information. We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay here at mountain view cottage. it was a bigger home, very roomie, comfortable furniture and nice pillow top mattress. We all commented on how comfortable this place is. Clean as a whistle too, which I can't say for other places I've stayed. Housekeepers name and number on the table incase I needed anything. Melanie did a great job giving us a bunch of information and stuff that we really used and appreciated. thank you for sharing your home.
