Hello, I have a small business, called Tao Living, providing Luxurious Corporate Apartments at Uptown Post Oak. I also work as a Holistic & Meditation facilitator and travel extensively around the world. I believe home is where the heart is. I strive to provide a clean, comfortable, luxurious space you will enjoy coming home to.
The world famous Galleria Mall is located only minutes away!
Right outside your door is Uptown Park, with over 50 fabulous places to shop, dine, dance, rejuvenate, sip, crave and enjoy where European elegance meets Texas style. This is a lifestyle center like no other - Houston's elegant Italian-style piazza. Catering to life's indulgences, Uptown Park is lined with shops, boutiques and cafes that create an intimate atmosphere with an emphasis on charm. With lush fountains, detailed architecture and lavish landscaping, the surroundings are warm and inviting. Lets not forget Starbucks.
With almost a wall of windows that lead to the over sized balcony, enjoy magnificent views and privacy.
I was relocating from Louisiana to Houston, and ended up staying at the Zen Apartment for over 3 months. It’s a lovely little apartment with enough basics to get by, and had a safe feeling, which was important as a woman traveling alone. Location was great, and was only a 20 minute drive from Downtown. It’s also close to lots of restaurants and shopping. It was a gem of a place that helped me make the transition to Houston life. On occasion, the elevators broke down, but management usually had someone come in to fix it, and I ended up making the trek up to the 5th floor, or used one of the alternate elevators. They also picked up your garbage every day outside your apartment, if you didn’t want to walk to the trash chute. The gym and pool were also great pluses. I found most of the people living there were professionals, or those with appointments in the medical center. This is a pet friendly apartment building, and never had any issues with noises. The owner was pretty responsive whenever I needed to extend my stay or had any questions. I wouldn’t hesitate to live here again, and actually miss it already. The one thing I wish it had was a desk or table for eating or telecommuting, but other than that, everything else was great! I miss it already!
I recently contacted Catalina about staying @ her Zen Studio. I was impressed by not only her professional demeanor, but also her over all friendliness. Upon my arrival, I immediately felt relaxed walking into the unit. It was clean and had a peaceful and welcoming feel! The views of the area were fantastic both day & night. There were upscale eateries and wine bars w/in walking distance. I have stayed in many places and have to say, that this one is in the top overall rating, as far as, exceeding my expectations! I look forward to my next visit to Houston and know where I will be staying. Thank you for the beautiful space!
The apartment is relatively comfortable and within walking distance of shops and restaurants which is a rarity for Houston. I stayed for just over two months and with-in this time the elevator was out of order on three occasions – not ideal for a 5th floor apartment. The staff at reception were arrogant and unhelpful in most instances. The apartment itself suffers from very poor air ventilation and I often awoke with a sore throat and stuffed up. Also the fabulous view had to be blinded with the blackout curtains to try curtail the Houston summer sun turning the room into a sauna. The noise from the drunken kids at 3am and dogs barking is enough to drive you insane. And to top it all off the owner decides not to return my security deposit even with provision of the mandatory 30 day vacate notice. She also had a habit of turning up at the door at 9:30 in the evening needing to get access to her storage. Not my idea of zen ....
I spent a month and a half at Catalina's apartment while working a contract in Houston, and the apartment was definitely the highlight of my stay. Catalina was very flexible with payment options, so I felt like I got a great deal, too.
The location is convenient, right off I-610, with shopping and restaurants nearby. The apartment was clean, with everything (wifi, cable TV, Blu-ray player, laundry machines, dishwasher, etc.) in solid working order. I had to pick up dishwasher soap when I arrived, but I consider this par for the course (and left what I didn't use for the next renters), and there was laundry soap and hand and dish soap.
The building is quiet, with a lot of young professionals. One neighbor had a dog, but I only knew because a cat in heat nearby got the dog barking, but only on one night. There is parking in the lower levels of the building, so you won't get wet during Houston's frequent rains.
The pictures in the listing accurately reflect the apartment (though there are some ugly rooftops just off the balcony, visible in one picture). The sun in the evening can be spectacular, and the large windows offer great light. I scarfed down more than a few home-made salads and beers sitting on that porch, and I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone else.
If I had one caution, it's that, when I was at the apartment, Catalina was out of the country and in an opposite time zone. This didn't pose a problem for me at all, but if you need a lot of help for some reason, you may have to wait for a reply email.
This space was my corporate housing during the 1st 2 months of my relocation to Houston. The accomidations were exactly as specified. The location in The Galleria area was convenient with shopping, dining, and entertainment all close by. Cable & WiFi worked flawlessly. The property, Uptown Post Oak is high-end with excellent security, gated covered garage and access codes for all entrances. The fitness center beats out most high-end hotels, with all the equipment one might be interested in using. Both the fitness center & pool were always emaculate. The studio has practically new, upper-end appliances in good working condition. The memory foam bed was more comfortable than my personal bed. The view from the fifth (top) floor was breathtaking at times. Overall, my stay at the Zen Studio was excellent. My highest reccomendation.
