Amazing spot – was perfect for our group and close to the subway.
First let me say that this was a great place to stay. The location in Brooklyn is very convenient to many Brooklyn attractions such as the Art Museum and Botanical Gardens. It is also easy to get into Manhattan because the C line subway is literally right around the corner. There is a terrific food store also a half block away where we bought food and cooked all our dinners in the house because we had kids with us and it was so cold that weekend. There is also a wonderful coffee shop/cafe next to the food store. The kitchen and appliances all worked really well and the bathrooms were terrific with great water pressure and rain water shower heads.
The only real negatives were the following: The first floor was COLD. Granted it was a unusually cold weekend, but the back door and front windows are not at all air tight. We could see light through the sides of the back door and obviously a lot of cold air was coming through. The upstairs was lovely and warm, but that's where the bedrooms are and not where we wanted to hang out. Luckily we brought extra blankets to wrap up in. The only other improvement the owners could make is to have more/better pillows for the beds. These are the two things keeping me from giving the house a 5 star rating.
We just returned from our stay in New York and we had a great time! We were traveling with my sister, her husband and her twins and it accommodated the 6 of us perfectly. We each had our own rooms and were able to utilize the entire space! We didn't make it down to the gym but we enjoyed the backyard and the living area with kitchen. It was an easy walk to local stores, restaurants and even to the subway!
We would definitely recommend other people traveling in big parties to stay here. We could have fit another 4-6 people! Parking around the neighborhood was also very easy. When we arrived we had towels, etc. The only thing we had to purchase was toilet paper, paper towels but everything else seemed to be stocked well!
Easy directions on how to get into the apt. Owner left his number if needed and stopped by to check on us. There were 7 in iur party and we fit just fine. Hot tub was fixed just before we arrived. Plenty of supplies. Overall it was a great rental. The only negatives- wifi was spotty and the basement smelled of mildew. I would definitely rent again!!!!!! Have even referred friends to this rental.
We were delighted with the neighborhood, with the property, and most definitely with the lovely outdoor space and the spa. The bathrooms were clean and very modern. After a long day of subways and walking and sightseeing, the hot tub and garden area were much appreciated. Our only big problem was that the 2 twins [or King bed] occupy the smallest bedroom, while the lovely largest bedroom has the smaller bed. The king bed in the small room leaves no space next to the bed, leaving one to uncomfortably crawl into [and out of] bed from the foot. Our group of 5 was more than satisfied, loved the neighborhood, and loved the comfort and convenience of this lovely home! A great value near the subway and restaurants and covenient stores! We will definitely return.
We traveled with our kids for a chamber performance at Carnegie Hall. There were 5 people in our party and the house accommodated us very well. The house was as described in the listing, and kept in very good condition. As with any trip, little issues came up, but the owners were very responsive. Overall we had a very good trip and I would highly recommend this rental unit to anyone traveling to New York.
