Akureyri is the amazing main town in Northern Iceland and offers all year around lots of attractions in the field of outdoor activities, leisure and art, and above all you enjoy here the midnight sun and the aurora borealis on 66 North!

You can walk straight up to Sulur, the mountain above Akureyri, you can hire horses for daily tours or a midnight sun ride, you can hire kayakas or join professional diving, hire a bicycle, play golf on the northern most 18 whole golf ground, go on a angling trip, have a walk along the fjord and in winter ski or do cross-country skiing in the best ski resort with view of the fjord, amazing!

Akureyri has a lot of charm with its old town and in the many cafés you make a break and enjoy Icelandic cake.

If you are keen on art, Akureyri offers you different galleries and there are lots of professional music concerts - as well all summer long - a music festival. Moreover, it is only a short ride to the waterfall Godafoss & the volcanic area of Myvatn.

We had the greatest time!!!The location is amazing with a wonderful view of Akureyri. We arrived late, I mean like really late at night and Vilborg picked us up to help find the house. She also had filled the fridge because she knew we would have a long drive from Reykjavik. She was very hospitable and made us feel like being at home. There are three nice bedrooms with very comfortable beds a big open living and dining room with an incredible view over the city. We would highly recommend staying here and plan to come back!!!!

Although this house is a old, it is well cared for and clean. But it was our Host that made the stay here so special. When the internet didn't work upon our arrival, they were there to help and fixed it; and Vilborg went way out of her way to help us find accommodations after our stay here, which was an unforeseen situation. Very nice family.
GREAT view and quiet. I would stay here again - and in their new digs which are being built now. Thanks!
