WOW! BEAUTIFUL MTN. HOME ON PRIVATE RANCH. VIEWS! MIDWAY BETWEEN ZION AND BRYCE

Alton Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-12)

Our home on the private Old Lazy Bar S Ranch is a great refuge from the city and heat. Located one mile off of scenic Highway 89, and 40 miles from either Zion or Bryce Canyon National Parks, this mountain home is nestled against ponderosa pine covered hills with views of pink cliffs and a natural mountain lake.

Our 3,300 sq. foot home is spacious, clean, and beautiful. There are ground entries to both the upper and lower levels. Located on the upper level are the great room, kitchen and dining area, master bedroom with adjoining bathroom, and laundry room. The kitchen is fully equipped plus there is a second refridgerator in the laundry room. Windows in the great room and dining area offer AMAZING views of the surrounding mountains, fields and lake. Located on the lower level are two bedrooms, a bathroom, sitting area, and large family room complete with piano, cable TV, video games, exercise equipment ,and view.

Soak in the sun through the cathedral windows, or enjoy the shade while you swing on the glider of the covered deck. HIKE in the hills behind the cabin. Enjoy roasting a marshmallow or hotdog in the fire pit, and make sure you stay up late enough to see the billions of STARS in the night sky. Chances are high that you will see DEER grazing in the fields, EAGLES soaring high in the BRILLLIANT BLUE SKY, and wild DUCKS, geese, and other water fowl on the lake.

There is a king-sized bed in the master bedroom, a queen-sized bed in a second bedroom, and a full-sized bed and queen bed in the third bedroom. There are also two queen-size self-inflating air mattresses available with plenty of floor space for them in the family room. A portable crib is also available upon request. There is one full bathroom downstairs and one full bathroom upstairs.

NO SMOKING AND SORRY, NO PETS

This is a perfect base camp for seeing the national parks in Southern Utah as well as a great place for anyone just wanting to get away from it all. If you love the outdoors, PRIVACY, and the feel of peace, you will love our place!

My husband and I started our family in Hawaii where he was born and raised. We've lived on the mainland for 22 years now. I am a homemaker, retired RN, and outdoor enthusiast. I love hiking, biking, exercising, and gardening. My husband is a consultant and enjoys tinkering on his '84 CJ7. We have four children and a black lab named Harley. I trained for my first century bike race on the roads around the ranch. I LOVE Zion National Park and continue to hike there. If you love the outdoors, you will love our place!

Tracy Camit purchased this cabin in 2008

The Lazy Bar S Ranch is 0ver 100 years old. Before there was even a home here we came here for family reunions, horseback riding, and cattle branding. My parents built the cabin in 1997 and added on to it to make it big enough to live in in 2004. We purchased it from them in 2008 with plans to live there indeffinitely, but chose to move to Las Vegas in 2011 to be closer to family. Because the idea of selling our home didn't feel right, we decided to keep it and use it as a vacation rental so that we can still spend time at this amazing place.

You truly feel like you've left the world behind when you stay at our home on the old Lazy Bar S Ranch. Delicious homemade bread and cookies provided for all of our guests.

BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5
The cabin far exceeded my expectations. It was clean, comfortable, plenty of room for kids and grand kids. We're looking to see when we can do this again. We took a lot of our own food but also ate at Ruby's Inn in Bryce Canyon. We fished Panguitch Lake, rode horses through Ruby's Inn and visited Bryce Canyon. We observed very large mule deer and three different herds of elk from inside the cabin. Great vacation!

WE LOVED THIS HOUSE!

  • 5 of 5
Our family had an amazing stay at the ranch. It was exactly what we were looking for; beautiful, private and fun. It was well stocked with everything we needed to spend quality family time together. The panoramic view from the front window might be the best view we have ever seen. The cowboy fire pit and stargazing through the telescope were also highlights! Our family will be back for sure!!

WONDERFUL PROPERTY

  • 5 of 5
The Lazy Bar S Ranch was the perfect place for our family to stay during our visit to Zion and Bryce N.P.s. It's ideally situated mid-way between both parks with a reasonable drive t both. The house itself couldn't be nicer: clean, well-appointed, and beautifully situated. The owners were personable and responsive and did everything possible to make our stay a pleasant one. There were lots of little surprises that kept our kids occupied during the down time. Deer visited the yard nearly every evening, hummingbirds constantly visited the feeder on the front porch, and the view of the pink cliffs off to the east was an eye-pleaser. Stay here! You won't be sorry.

SUPERB EXPERIENCE

  • 5 of 5
Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Lazy Bar S Ranch. We loved the gorgeous views from the property; the peacefulness, roominess, and comfort of the house; and the owners' generosity and attention to every detail.
It was superb experience to visit the exquisite beauty of southern Utah from such a lovely home base.

WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY

  • 4 of 5
This house worked out well for the six of us. The location can't be beat if you are planning on exploring Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park. It is located right between them, and a 2+ hour drive from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We made almost all of our meals at the house. If you want to eat out, you are going to have to drive a bit to find something.I would definitely recommend stopping on your way in at Walmart or Costco and be well stocked on groceries! The house was very clean. Also really appreciated the homemade cookies and bread that were left as a welcome gift. Such a nice touch. Kids loved the expansive game closet, although not much time to actually play many games. We certainly enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: One of the great features of The Old Lazy Bar S Ranch is its location! Located centrally between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, it is an easy and beautiful drive to each, and a drive to the north rim of the Grand Canyon makes a great day trip. In addition to the game closet, kids of all ages will enjoy hiking the hills and mountains around the cabin. The views from the mountain tops are fantastic!
Prior to arrival, each of our guests receive a list of grocery stores they will pass on the way to the ranch and are encouraged to stock up on food prior to their arrival. The well appointed kitchen makes meal preparation easy, and the gas grill is put to good use by nearly all of our guests.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL

  • 5 of 5
If you want a quiet place with a great view, then I suggest this house. There is a mountain in the back yard that most of us climbed; what a view from top. The property is situated between Bryce Canyon and Zion Park and not far from the Grand Canyon. Don't forget Pink Coral Sand Dunes Park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We also played the piano and guitar and we sang along. So much here to make your stay pleasurable and memorable.

Owner's Response: The Old Lazy Bar S Ranch is a great place to strengthen family relationships. It is a quiet, peaceful place, and if you enjoy the sound of the wind in the tops of the pine trees, you will want to spend time here.
