Our home on the private Old Lazy Bar S Ranch is a unique and amazing place to stay on your vacation. Located one mile off of scenic Highway 89, there are no other houses or cabins in site. Easy access off of a paved road, and only 40 miles from either Zion or Bryce Canyon National Parks, this mountain home is the perfect home base! Our home is nestled against ponderosa pine covered hills (which you can hike on) with beautiful views of pink cliffs and a natural mountain lake.
Our 3,300 sq. foot home is spacious, clean, and beautiful. There are ground entries to both the upper and lower levels. Located on the upper level are the great room, kitchen and dining area, master bedroom with adjoining bathroom, and laundry room. The kitchen is fully equipped plus there is a second refridgerator in the laundry room. Windows in the great room and dining area offer AMAZING views of the surrounding mountains, fields and lake. Located on the lower level are two bedrooms, a bathroom, sitting area, and large family room complete with piano, cable TV, video games, exercise equipment ,and view.
Soak in the sun through the cathedral windows, or enjoy the shade while you swing on the glider of the covered deck. HIKE in the hills behind the cabin. Enjoy roasting a marshmallow or hotdog in the fire pit, and make sure you stay up late enough to see the billions of STARS in the night sky. Chances are high that you will see DEER grazing in the fields, EAGLES soaring high in the BRILLLIANT BLUE SKY, and wild DUCKS, geese, and other water fowl on the lake.
There is a king-sized bed in the master bedroom, a queen-sized bed in a second bedroom, and a full-sized bed and queen bed in the third bedroom. My husband and I started our family in Hawaii where he was born and raised. We've lived on the mainland for 24 years now. I am a homemaker, retired RN, and outdoor enthusiast. I love hiking, biking, exercising, and gardening. My husband is a consultant and enjoys tinkering on his '84 CJ7. We have four children and a black lab named Harley. I trained for my first century bike race on the roads around the ranch. I LOVE Zion National Park and continue to hike there. If you love the outdoors, you will love our place!
Tracy Camit purchased this cabin in 2008
The Lazy Bar S Ranch is 0ver 100 years old. Before there was even a home here we came here for family reunions, horseback riding, and cattle branding. My parents built the cabin in 1997 and added on to it to make it big enough to live in in 2004. We purchased it from them in 2008 with plans to live there indeffinitely, but chose to move to Las Vegas in 2011 to be closer to family. Because the idea of selling our home didn't feel right, we decided to keep it and use it as a vacation rental so that we can still spend time at this amazing place.
You truly feel like you've left the world behind when you stay at our home on the old Lazy Bar S Ranch. Delicious homemade bread and cookies provided for all of our guests.
"Had the time of our lives with family in Zion. Loved watching the deer and visiting Bryce & Zion. Thank you for sharing your home - it really made the trip special!!!
Thank you for the extra touches"
The Lazy Bar S Ranch was a perfectly sweet spot for our family of six to use as a home base for our vacation. The setting is pastoral perfection with both a deck with good seating and giant family room windows overlooking pasture, a pond, and cliffs that bloom pink to red in the sunset each day. The spacious and comfortable home was clean and neat with everything in good order.
The owners of this lovely property have done everything right. Cookies and bread on the kitchen counter to welcomed us when we arrived was a warm touch. The quality of the beds and the linens are excellent and made our stay very comfortable. There were plenty of fluffy towels for everyone. The kitchen was very well stocked, organized and perfectly clean. Having two refrigerators is a wonderful bonus for a big hungry family that likes to eat at home. The furniture was very comfortable. Having a telescope, guitar lots of games and movies available was just icing on the cake. Everyone enjoyed the fire pit and the smores and hot dogs that were cooked with the nice long handled skewers provided by the hosts.
We visited Bryce (our favorite), Zion (crowded), drove hwy 12 past Bryce to Capitol Reef National Park (both the road and the park were awesome!), Finding the petroglyphs west of St. George near Santa Clara was one of the families favorite adventures, the Coral Pink Sand dunes state park was cool at sunset, and we visited lots of the canyons around the home off of 89 down to Kenab (Kenab canyon is beautiful, the Lone Ranger tv shows were filmed here, Angels landing and resting place is. . . beautifully moving.) Past Kenab to the east is Johnson's canyon where the Gunsmoke set is still standing and leaning, another beautiful canyon to explore...
We all woke up early one morning to enjoy a total lunar eclipse of the full moon, lots of shooting stars streaking across the backdrop of the bright plane of the milky way galaxy.
The Lazy Bar S Ranch was a perfect starting point for all of our adventures and a warm and comfortable resting place. It is obvious that the home was built, decorated and filled with a lot of love. Love of family and love for the area make up the art and accents in the home. We left with our minds full of happy memories and our hearts full of gratitude for the graciousness of our hosts.
My husband and I along with another couple rented this beautiful mountain home for our Utah vacation to see the Magnificent Five. We couldn't have asked for any more. The home is absolutely beautiful and the views were breathtaking. We spent a lot of time exploring the area around the home. The trail around the back of the home was a nice and easy walk with beautiful views. We enjoyed coffee each morning on the deck watching the hummingbird. If you are looking for peace and solitude, this is the place. The only thing you hear are the cows mooing. I would recommend this home for anyone, families or couples. It had everything we wanted and more!
This is a wonderful property. It's spacious, full of light, comfortable, squeaky clean and has a view to die for. Additionally, it's very private. Sunrise and sunset - lovely! You can sit out on the deck and watch the deer arrive each evening in the field adjacent.
We stayed 6 nights and it was absolutely wonderful returning to the cabin after a full day at Bryce or Zion. We also spent relaxation time here simply enjoying the cabin and its immediate surroundings or, otherwise, driving to Navajo Lake and Cedar Breaks.
We were visiting from abroad so wifi was essential - no worries here, it was absolutely superb. The owners are excellent and very easy to work with - they are keen for you to enjoy and appreciate their property. We would have no hesitation in giving this our highest recommendation and we would certainly return again.
Our family took off to Southern Utah and stayed for 3 nights at this home. The home was beautifully kept up - everything you could want in the kitchen to cook and eat with. I loved the pictures in the kitchen cabinets and drawers - everyone in the family knew where to put things away not just the cook! We enjoyed the homemade bread and cookies that was provided. Tracy answered any questions we had about the property quickly. We loved the night stars with no distracting lights. There was a closet full of games for the kids to enjoy when they weren't hiking around the property. Our family hiked in Orderville, wandered through all the rock shops and played in the sand dunes. It was a perfect getaway for a bit of family togetherness.
This was an amazing trip! The cabin/ mountain home was perfect for our family. Tracey was wonderful with everything. The cabin was immaculate, with comfy beds and beautiful views. We all hiked and explored the property and enjoyed the regular wildlife. The Mule Deer were on the property daily as well as some lizards we had never seen before. Even chipmunks visited the rocks out front. We visited Zion, Bryce, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and the Grand Canyon. The weather was perfect and the stars were amazing. Thank you Tracey for sharing your amazing place.
This was not a vacation rental it was a lovely, warm home. Our goal was to visit Zion and Canyon National Parks and this was situated perfectly between the two. We vacationed with another family and the layout was perfect for each family to have their own space. Take time to stare at the beautiful night sky.
