Waikomo is like a botanical garden, only 60 units in 5 buildings gives you privacy. Great pool, to meet travelers from around the world,, 3 gas BBQ's, huge coconut palms & Monkey pod trees. FREE Off street parking by buildings100 & 500. Short walk to everything...sunsets,shopping,beach,bars,Health food store,farmers market.NEW expanded pool-BBQ area. Waikomo is 3.9 acres acquired in 1980 from the estate of the Hawaiian Princess Bernice Pauohie Bishop ( dec.19,1831 oct. 16,1884) who was the great-great granddaughter of king KAMEHAMEHA 1, and his last surviving heir. We think the royal history adds to its charm.

- spacious, especially for just my wife and I
- no major issues with cleanliness
- plenty of off-street parking available
- good location, close to a couple of different shopping centres
- gnats and little flies seemed to grow in number over our 5-night stay (an issue for many places on the island though)
- bedding did have a bit of a musty smell
We loved our stay on Kauai and would not hesitate to stay at this condo again.
As soon as we opened the door to the condo, we knew we had struck gold..the condo was sparkling clean and very spacious and there was a closet full of towels and beach paraphernalia!
The pool was brand new, good for swimming laps and surrounded by flowering plants..we esp enjoyed our night swims with shooting stars overhead. The lanai was private and the back gate lead us to a quiet spot to watch the sunset...the Sheraton had a beach in front that was never crowded, sometimes we were the only ones in the ocean!...mike the property manager was great..we recommend this place to everyone and felt like we did not have to visit a botanical garden, we were surrounded by one...the various flowering plants, running stream and koi fish made me feel like I had a true hawaiian experience. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely place with us for 8 glorious days!
Great location and wonderful condo. We stayed at this condo from 8/29/14 to 9/6/14. The description of the condo was accurate. The condo is located very near a shopping village (right out the back gate) and only a couple of blocks from the beach. It is only a short drive to Popu Beach which is one of the USA's best beaches. There is a BBQ located near the condo which was very convenient. Having a washer and dryer in the condo was a real plus. One closet contains snorkeling equipment, coolers, beach chairs, etc.
The condo had everything we needed for a great stay. Parking was free and secure. The internet connection was very good and fast.
The only negative comment would be the lack of air conditioning. A couple of the nights it was fairly warm. There are plenty of fans (both ceiling and stand alone) which helped.
All in all this is an excellent condo for the money.
The vacation rental was great, and really helped us experience Kaua'i to the fullest.
It had a lot of amenities, such as: cooking supplies (even salt and pepper!), refrigerator, microwave, etc etc. Basically, everything you'd want to have in the kitchen. Washing machine and dryer were in the bathroom closet. There were plenty of towels, both bath and beach towels. The closet near the front door was full of random useful items, such as boogie boards, tennis rackets, washing detergent... it felt almost like we were house-sitting for someone (in the sense that it had everything we needed). The condo was very clean and in good condition.
The location was good, within easy walking distance of shops and a nice natural food store. We also walked to the beach, less than a mile away.
The Waikomo Stream Villas are really beautiful. A small stream runs though them that is filled with Koi fish, and there is a pool and tennis courts on site (the condo included tennis rackets too!)
The owner/manager was very nice, available, and made the whole experience as easy as possible. We didn't have any problems with the rental or with the service.
I would totally recommend this rental to a friend. It was such a good deal!
We were delighted to arrive at this spacious condo in a beautiful garden setting. The unit had all the amenities from a full kitchen to hair dryers, towels and beach gear. And the location was perfect! We were able to walk to incredible restaurants, shops and numerous beaches. The complex is quiet, serene and has a fantastic pool. This is a lovely vacation rental that we would recommend to anyone. Mahalo!
POIPU is near the small historic town of Koloa, Kauai which is south of Lihue . Exit the main road left thru the 'Tunnel of Trees' keep going straight...DON'T take the left Poipu turn ...continue south to the town of Koloa...turn RIGHT @ the yield=stop sign ..go about 1 block & turn LEFT @ the Chevron gas station...@ the round-about...it takes you right but continue 3/4 around the round-about to Poipu Road. The FIRST RIGHT is into the Waikomo parking lot. 2721 Poipu Rd. #401. Go close to the right end..West...of the lot ..the first bldg. is the 500's..walk down the interior path...next bldg. is the 400's...second stairwell on the right is 401. Out the back gate is Hoonani road..a short walk to the Sheraton Poipu beach...walk down the beach past the Waiohai time share resort to the Public Beach Park...the best swimming & Snorkeling in Poipu...to the right of the island is easy access for seniors.
