We had a wonderful stay! The owners are so nice and easy to work with. The house was so close to the venue for my daughter's wedding in Dawsonville. The river and the falls are beautiful and so relaxing. Just perfect! Cannot wait to visit again. Beautiful home! The back yard is amazing!
My wife and I were looking for a quick get away from Atlanta for our anniversary. We emailed several VRBO's in order to assure we would get a good response since time was short on booking a cabin. Dutch was very quick to respond back to me and assured me the cabin would be available even with the snow/ice that N Ga had been getting. We were pleasantly surprised upon arriving at Monarch Lodge...not only was it very nice, roomy, had a great wood burning fireplace ( really- if you're going to stay in a mountain cabin, who wants a gas burning fake fireplace!), incredible river views, and close enough to Dahlonega, the outlet malls, etc to easily fill our weekend with activities. The Etowah River and Mooney's creek to the side of the property was very nice - the sounds and sight of the shoals from the river made for a nice back drop to an incredible weekend. I highly recommend Monarch Lodge if you are looking for a quick weekend get away or even longer stay. We've already talked about coming back. Thanks Dutch for going the extra effort in making sure our stay was one to remember!
We had an amazing time. We had our wedding party come in the week of and we enjoyed the property so much! We had a great time roasting marsh mellows by the fire and enjoyed swimming in the river. The falls were so beautiful. We had about 80 people at our wedding and every single person said the enjoyed themselves and that the property was so beautiful. The property owner was very friendly and worked with us to make our event special. My wife and I will definitely stay there again and can't wait for our next getaway to the Monarch Lodge!
Before booking I was a little bit concerned that there wouldn't be enough to do in the Dahlonega area to keep my 2 teens (18&16 years) entertained for 4 weeks! I could not have been more wrong!! Monarch Lodge looks as good if not better than the photos. It's extremely comfortable (particularly the beds) and very well equipped with everything you could need for a long stay vacation. The river and creek are awesome for pottering about and the Ettowa Falls are just a couple of mins. walk away. We had a lot of fun with Dutch's kayak and my husband and son both caught trout fly-fishing. Dutch could not have been more helpful both during the booking process and our stay. Lisa you are an angel, thank you for everything and especially for the birthday cake to make Rosies 16th truly sweet!! There is so much to do and see in the area all within convenient driving distance. Our highlights included, clay pigeon shooting, karting and kayaking on the Chestatee, tour of the Consolidated Gold mines and Amiacola Falls. On Lake Lanier striped-bass fishing, and 'wake the lake' were awesome. Great shopping in Dahlonega and the outlet mall in Dawsonville, plus Walmart around 10 mins. from the Lodge. Dahlonega has a great selection of restaurants to suit all prices. I've missed out a bunch of stuff and we left without completing all our planned activities. I would highly recommend Monarch Lodge for both short and long term stays. Thank you Dutch for sharing your wonderful home and providing us all with a truly memorable vacation. All best wishes from the Slayter family.
My husband and I loved the lodge as a venue! It was absolutely beautiful there and the owner and manager of the property were so friendly and accommodating! We had about 80 guests and it was plenty big enough. Everyone loved it! The bridal party and families stayed at the lodge a few days before together and it was just perfect. I would love to come back for a one year anniversary! I will always remember this lodge. So wonderful!
We loved everything about the Monarch Lodge! Unfortunately we were here for a wedding in Dahlonega and did not get to spend as much time as we hoped enjoying the amenities. Will definitely be back!!
