This freestanding victorian style casita is filled with old world charm with all the modern amenities to make your visit both memorable and comfortable.

A detached one bedroom studio apartment is also available on request for an additional charge. It is on the second story, newly constructed, beautiful views. Kitchenette with refrig and microwave. Perfect for family or friends traveling together.

About The Owner

Thom Wheeler is a prominent sculptor and painter, living in Taos since 1985 when he built his castle studio and home. His work is nationally and internationally renowned and in prominent collections around the country.

We loved this casita, and Thom and Lavinia were perfect hosts. The casita is thoughtfully and fully furnished, and since we do most of our own cooking while traveling we especially appreciated the excellent kitchen.Security was excellent - we had no problem leaving for the day. We both also work full-time (even while on vacation) using the internet so we were very happy with the high speed connection. You could not do better for a short or long term stay in Taos. You may want to inquire if the upstairs will be occupied while you are there - it was for a few days while we were there and while there was really no problem you could definitely hear people moving around. We will absolutely book again on our next visit to Taos.

Right in the heart of Taos

My husband and I stayed in Taos for the first part of our honeymoon at this beautiful, artsy, folksy casita. Thom and Lavinia were welcoming and their dogs were so cute (we had dog withdrawal since we had to board ours for the trip duration.) The stained glass windows lent the casita a magical light in the late afternoon when the sun shone through, making catnaps very alluring. Even though we came here to get away, the cable TV was nice. Less than 2 minutes drive from old downtown Taos (you could walk there if you wanted.) Thom told us about Oho Caliente, the nearby hot springs, and recommended we take a trip there; we did, and loved it. We spent three nights at the Wheelers', and loved every minute.

Wonderful private casita that opens to a beautiful garden. Stained glass windows surround the room that make for a very romantic setting. Full kitchen and laundry was a great plus too!
