Built in 2006 on the site of a downtown fishing Co-Op, the Back Bay Cottage has three rental condo units. This unit, 'Starboard' is a 1 Queen bedroom/1 bath (sleeps 2)(new a/c for 2014) with a large covered deck, pier & float right on the water looking out at the harbor.
With limited kitchen facilities (no oven), this location is so close to over 30 restaurants, delis and coffee shops as well as all the downtown shops, marinas, and boat tours that you'll never need that oven.
Not only convenient, its quiet too - next to the Chowder House, a block away from the footbridge - everything is close by.
The Back Bay Cottage was designed to imitate the 1890's look of a 'Gentleman's Cottage'. The owners have duplicated that look inside with charming bead-board detail and European antiques.
We provide all linens, towels, paper products, condiments, a 'welcome' basket and some complimentary wine & coffee.
Starboard shares a dock & float with the two other units. Not for large boats because you have to fit beneath the footbridge, it's perfect for canoes, kayaks and dinghys.

We purchased an old restaurant on pilings over the inner harbor water; tore it down & built a state-of-the-art 1890's 'Gentleman's Cottage' in what we consider is the quintessential small Maine fishing village 'with amenties'.
The location is perfect. Close enough to everything so that you don't need a car, but far enough away from the night life that you don't need to be forced to listen to the latest taste in live music.
The Starboard Cabin was better than expectations and everything was just perfect. The small apartment is decorated perfectly making your stay more than comfortable. The view from both the living room and the deck is great and a constant reminder that you are in Booth Bay. We were within walking distance to everything in town, including the best restaurant "Ports of Italy".
My husband and I had a wonderful week in Boothbay Harbor while staying at the Starboard Condo. The condo was even prettier than the pictures and very comfortable and cozy. You are literally right on the Harbor with the water lapping at the base of the deck during high tide. The deck chairs are very comfortable and we spent a few hours each day just soaking up the harbor activity with all the accompanying sights, sounds and smells. Starboard Condo is just the loveliest little spot to relax and unwind and we will definitely be returning next summer!
Eddie and I wanted a romantic getaway week from our urban life. We found it in your beautifully decorated starboard cabin. Your English antiques mixed with the original local art created a delightful ambiance, and the location was perfect - close to restaurants but far enough away from the night life so not to be noisy. our Starboard condo was just like in the pictures. very lovely with beautiful furniture. it is perfectly comfortable for a couple and within walking distance to all the shops in town. we enjoyed sitting on the deck looking out and relaxing. if you like to sleep in, you will sometimes get awakened to weed wacking next door, but otherwise, mostly peaceful. the grill was great for barbecuing hamburgers. the fridge was the perfect size for a few drinks, snacks and breakfast food. I would really recommend taking in a show at the Carousel Music Theater which is located right next to the Chamber of Commerce. Kayaking in the river was great fun too.
Never having been to Maine, I am so glad I selected Sandy & Tony's property for our stay in Boothbay Harbor. The photos, although quite good, do not do the space justice. It is perfect for two. Furnishings are in good condition and comfortable. Bright, clean, and remarkably quiet considering it is so close to everything. We could literally park our car and walk to anything we wanted to do. The footbridge across the harbor is just a few hundred yards from the property. There was a lovely welcome gift of wine, crackers, fruit and cheese when we arrived. Perfect for relaxing on the deck over the water after a long day of driving. The kitchen is small, but I knew it would be. I was able to successfully create anything we wanted there. A big plus - all the manuals to the kitchen appliances were there - so no questions about how things worked. A grill on the deck made for a nice steak dinner for one night. Favorite things...Sailing aboard the Eastwind at sunset; the harbor town waking up in the morning; learning about the Grand March of the 2013 graduates; Pemaquid Light in late afternoon and the lovely people of Boothbay Harbor, Maine. This cottage is perfect for two people. The property is immaculate with many extra little touches. The porch is right over the bay so you can sit outside and watch the tide come in and out. You are just steps from the footbridge and steps from downtown. Close to everything, but a half block or so removed so it is quiet and peaceful and private. We will definitely come again! Tips for travelers - make sure you order Haddock Lester at Andrew's restaurant, and go to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens - not to be missed!
Because of wealthy patrons, the 'Y' in Boothbay Harbor boasts a brand new Olympic swimming pool, indoor tennis courts and running track, weight rooms - amenities more upscale than many private clubs. LL Bean & factory stores only 45 minutes away.
