We chose to purchase Belvedere because of its' architectural character which is of traditional Barbadian design and because of its' location close to Rockley Beach. We love to spend the day at this beach, swimming here is unequaled with the clearest water you can ever imagine, swimming here is so easy, we snorkel on the reef at one end of the beach, at the end of the day we just stroll home and get ready to head out to have a sundown drink on the boardwalk before dinner at any one of the restaurants in walking distance. We could have purchased a condo but wanted to own a real home.
We just loved the fact that we found a private home in a fenced garden in walking distance to the most popular beach on the island. The wrap around verandah allows for cooling breezes to pass through the house. We have big trees in the garden where birds wait for us on a morning while we are having breakfast, we throw pieces of bread in the air and the birds dive and catch the bread, we just love this. Because the house is an older character home the bedrooms are really large and airy.
Belvedere is a wonderful traditional coral stone Barbadian Home and is the essence of Caribbean living with its' high ceilings, hardwood floors and large sun-lit windows and window seats. Its spacious wrap around verandah is furnished for alfresco dining and relaxing and watching the local humming birds while catching the prevailing breezes. There is a cameo view of the sea.
