We live in N. Myrtle Beach, SC. I have been in banking for 42 years and my husband has been in golf apparel sales for 30 years. We have 2 children-our daughter is married and has one child (age 4) and our son lives in Charlotte and is a graduate of ASU. We have a wonderful pembroke welsch corgi named Harley and he loves the mountains!
Judy Adams/ Mac Adams purchased this house in 2005
We chose to buy a house in this area because it was a wonderful escape from the summer heat and humidity. My husband loves to golf in the summer and ski in the winter, i enjoy relaxing by the fire and the cool summers overlooking the mountains on our decks. We absolutely adore all 4 seasons. Great place to relax & unwind.
we enjoy the hiking trails, local fishing spots, the wildlife (especially the deer) that just hang out right in your yard, great time for a morning walk with our dog Harley and sipping coffee out on the deck on the cool mornings, just minutes from Freds General Store and skiing-new recreational facility just minutes away. We have had some remarkable times with family getting together and going to Grandfather Mtn. to the zoo and also Tweetsie Railroad is a great place for family time as well. The lists just go on and on--
thank you to the adams family for a great three night mini vacation.my family of three had a wonderful time in this very clean updated beech mountain home while snow boarding.though we primarily stayed upstairs(my son played xbox below by the fire place)there is ample room for additional couple, family,or group of friends below with a separate living room with sofas and a couple recliners as well as a full large bedroom with bath.
the home has two well built natural rock fireplaces with the most realistic vent free firelogs I've ever seen.no more trips for firewood!
the kitchen was modern and had everything you need to prepare meals.there is also a newer propane grill on the large deck for grilling steaks.
thanks again judy for a flawless transaction while booking our trip
I rented directly from the owner, July and Mac were amazing to work with, they treated us like Family.
We were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The house looks better than what pictures show! The house worked well for our group. The kids owned the downstairs living room and bedroom while the relaxed parents slept in the bedrooms upstairs, everyone was happy. The King bed was awesome for me. The Main area is very comfortable and offers nice views. We had a blast sledding in the driveway of the house the day after a huge storm. We saw deers everyday, kids loved it. Fireplaces and Heaters kept the house in awesome temperature at all times. Very nice Christmas Decorations. I'm sure the place is perfect for winter or summer getaway.
The location is about a mile from The Beech Mountain Ski Resort. I do recommend bringing snow chains in winter.
For the price and location we were very happy.
This is one of the best vacations we have had in a long time. The house is very inviting. It's obvious that the homeowers take pride in their home away from home. The neighborhood is great for walking, The only caution is there is wildlife everywhere. Saw a skunk the first night driving into the neighborhood. Our son got up our first morning and opened the door to take the dog out and there were two deer standing there eating breakfast and looking at him. We saw deer everywhere. We cooked a Thanksgiving dinner and ate most of our meals at the house.
Although it was nice to hold up in the house, there was so much do in the area. We skated on the outdoor rink at Sugar Mountain. We took a hayride and had hot cocoa at a tree farm in Sugar Plum. The family was so nice, The owner made sure everyone was full of hot cocoa and cider before they left. There was even a fire pit to roast marshmallows that were in the snack room. Everyone from the local general store to the area restaurants was so friendly.
The day before we left, it finally got cold enough to snow. We woke up to the blowing of snow at the local ski area. It was something to watch.
The place was ready for us when we got there. Lights even left on. Plenty of linens available. Everything was as described. The owners couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, they made us feel as part of their family. Making sure we were finding the place and checking to make sure we had all we needed.
This house offered a good location for our first family ski trip. Very close to the slopes with minimal "tricky" roadways during icy weather. Wildlife was close by as we were able to watch the deer as they were searching for breakfast every morning. We were very comfortable here with cozy fireplaces on each floor. The house has tons of room with an entire living area downstairs and a 2 bedroom living area upstairs (actually the main floor). We had everything we needed with space to relax and spread out. The home was clean and ready when we arrived. I think the addition of sleds for use of the renters and some deep-pocket sheets to replace the regular sized ones would be nice but certainly would not deter us from renting again. The owners were great to work with...very responsive and friendly. You'll enjoy your stay here.
My family spent 4 days during Christmas at this cozy Beech Mountain getaway, and it was perfect. The home was spacious, comfortable, kitchen well stocked, even decorated for Christmas! I highly recommend this lovely mountain home close to everything at Beech Mountain.
