Great beach, great condo, great time!!

We've been looking for a vacation getaway we can return to... after the BVI and Kona, I think the BBC on Abaco Island, Bahamas is a winner. The condo is beautiful - truly the owners home away from home. Clean, convenient to the pool, bar and The Beach; the owners provided every amenity. Is there a resturant at BBC? we never needed to look for it.
No rental car needed - rent a golf cart for the week and you can get anywhere you want. Each of the adjacent resorts hosts a different event every evening, so you just move down the beach every night.
Snorkling is OK off the beach, especially at low tide when you can get to the sea grass - plenty of turtles and conch, remora, barracuda and strange fish. Treasure Divers (1/4 mile away) offers snorkling/dive trips at normal rates and limits at a mixed group of 14. The barrier reef coral is really impressive. We dove through tunnels in 40' high coral towers, saw sharks, rays and more turtles.
More on the condo... the owners provided local information and contacts prior to our departure and arranged for our pick-up at the airport. We had plenty of towels - don't pack any - and everything we needed was in the condo. You can walk out directly across the lawn to the pool, the bar, and the beach. Three and a half miles of clean, powder white sand and not too many people in July.
Other than the beach there's not too much to see in Treasure Cay. The islands are pretty similar, so plan on heavy R & R. The power went out frequently at various times and unrelated to weather. Usually it was back on in 30 minutes. The condo has its own WiFi, so you can keep in e-mail touch with the world. Food is not cheap and neither is liquor. Forget fine dining in Treasure Cay, although the local resturants are OK. There's a walk-in clinic in town (Corbett) and the cash rate fro a MD exam was very reasonable. Don't expect much in the way of trinkets to take home - we had to search for souvenirs.
We were a party of four - parents in early 60's and married daughter and husband in mid-20's. We're all scuba divers, so the water and beach was the draw. We felt very safe and were impressed by the friendliness of everyone we passed on the street. The condo, property and the town were clean and we had no problems. In all fairness, the listing does not do justice to the condo or resort. It's much better than advertised.
This is clearly on the winners list and we have every intent of returning again. A big thanks to the owners! Great trip.
