We live in Alaska and love to travel to Mexico during the winter months.
Bobbi Jo purchased this villa in 2005
We love the area and the historic town of Loreto for it's restaurants, shopping and authentic charm
relaxing by the pool, driving to Loreto for fine dining
This is a lovely and very comfortable unit if you are looking for a beautiful and laid back vacation destination. The property is clean and well kept, and the configuration of the unit works well for lots of privacy as well as communal spaces. The beach is very close, there's a gorgeous pool nearby and the landscaping is immaculate. The community has several wonderful amenities nearby....cafe, etc. As others have mentioned, if you're looking for a party scene, this is not it. If you enjoy a very peaceful and beautiful locale (great birds!) and a very relaxing and comfortable residence, I would highly recommend the property.
Our family had a wonderful stay. The place was comfortable, clean, and quiet with plenty of room, good beds, and even Internet! Pools are nearby, beach is close, community is very pleasant (Loreto Bay) with lots of great amenities close by. Not a party location but very nice for a beautiful, quiet, and comfortable place to vacation.
Our family of five had a fantastic time in Loreto Bay. The condo is awesome - everything you need to enjoy a long vacation!
My group of 7 had a great time in Loreto last week! We were traveling as a group with 4 Polaris razors. I would highly recommend this property! There was plenty of room for all of us to relax after long days spent riding in the beautiful desert around Loreto. The property was located in a great place with easy accessibility to all amenities! The house was clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed having two courtyards available along with an extra access. This made a great place to store all of our riding gear without having to bring it all through the main house. Our only regret was having to leave this paradise!
Such a beautiful home and quiet. In the morning the birds are singing and you can hear the waves in the distance. There is a hummingbird sitting on her nest outside the front door. I can't wait to wake up and find them hatched.
The home is colorful, clean and so comfortable. Everyone we meet is so friendly and helpful. We plan to come back again and again.
The coffee shop/cafe El Corazon is just steps away and there are cute shops starting to sprout up on the Paseo.
I would recommend this property to anyone that loves staying in a beautiful home while they visit the Loreto area. There are so many islands to visit and kayak around or snorkel. The fishing is amazing when the wind isn't blowing. There are many places to hike and explore the list goes on and on.
Loreto is where you want to be to get away from it all. There is a caveat that you can have internet access via Wi-fi at the association offices if you really can't live without E-mail but I recommend against this intrusion into your relaxing week (or weekend for the LA traveler). Loreto was the first mission on the Baja and one of the first in the Pacific. Not much has changed in the town. Fishing and enjoying fine mexican cuisine are the two highlights of the town. The villa offers all the other amenities of travel to the tropics. Beaches are only a 100 yard walk down the beautifully landscaped pathways in villages. Multiple pools are available to refresh oneself after lounging in the warm tropical sun while enjoying the beverage of your choice, either the large hotel pool at ambient temperature or the small intimate owner's pool which is heated to near 80 degrees. Both are short walks down different well manicured pathways. One of the really fun things to do is take a different pathway every time you walk through the villages and marvel at all the blooming tropical and desert plants and wonder how they coexist in this arid paradise. Of course they take advantage of the always sunny days and warm subtropical year round climate. Many options exist for adventure. The ocean teems with fish, the lagoon is a birdwatchers paradise, the golf course is uncrowded and David Duvall has done a wonderful job challenging and rewarding both the novice and experienced golfer. If you are willing to rent a car your options open up. Drives to secluded beaches and coves await. Canyon hikes to desert oasis swimming holes are close by. Of course Loreto offers even more dining options than within the villages. Accross the baja is the world famous Bahia Magdalena, the birthplace of the grey whales, panga tours are available from December to March. Fishing within the National Marine Preserve of the Loreto islands is allowed only for sport purposes. Yellowfin, yellowtail, roosterfish, striped marlin are just some of the tasty fish to enjoy on the barbeque up on your verandah tonight. My favorite routine is enjoying a barbeque of fresh fish followed by a star gazing evening from this verandah, falling asleep under the Milky Way, then waking up the next morning to watch the sunrise light up Sierra Gigante to the east as it rises out of the glassy calm Sea of Cortez. All the time knowing the next day is up to me; siesta on the beach or by the pool or another baja adventure
