OVERLOOKING A PRISTINE BAY ALONG THE KONA COAST

Kailua Kona House Rental Photos and Description

This home is a Hawaiian classic located on a surf/boogey board bay off historic Heeia (H) Bay just feet away from Keauhou Bay.

This home sits on the bluff of one of the most pristine Bays of the Kona coast, (H) Heeia Bay. Keauhou Bay is just feet away to the South.

The home is a classic older Hawaiiana home that spreads out in all directions for spacious enjoyment and privacy for all guests. The master suite is located in the main house with the other 3 bedrooms located in a separate wing inside the courtyard, each with a separate entrance creating maximum privacy. Swim in the unheated black bottom pool while you watch dolphins and whales pass by.

Part of Baywatch's charm is its traditional Hawaiian coastal open air design. The prevailing trade winds from the west over the ocean and the mountain breezes from the east make this island home so comfortable that there is no need for air conditioning.

Follow a paved pathway for beach access at beautiful Heeia Bay, just around the corner of Manukai Street.

The famous Sam Choy restaurant is a five minute drive, a movie theater and shopping center are all within walking distance.

Numerous resort amenities are available just to the South. The Keauhou Bay area offers great ocean access, Scuba diving, Sailing, Catamaran, Fishing charters, Sea kayaking and Outrigger canoeing.

Hotel amenities do not come with the home.

If you are seeking local markets and historical context, downtown Kailua-Kona is approximately a 10 minute drive for easy access to shopping, businesses, waterfront restaurants and hotels. Watch the people and the cruise ships come and go from the Kailua Pier. Visit the famous Farmer's Market. Enjoy a shave ice or a cup of Kona coffee, have a light snack or a gourmet meal, buy an inexpensive souvenir or a piece of fine art, book an activity, go for a swim or hang out on the many beautiful beaches.

Up the coast is a busy marina with Hawaii's best scuba diving, big-game fishing, kayaking, dolphin and whale watching and other ocean activities. Hale Akala is conveniently located, a great home base to explore the many wonders of the Big Island including Volcano National Park, Mauna Kea Observatory, coffee and macadamia nut farms, artist communities, and more!

WARNING! Home might not be suitable for small children due to pool and cliff location as well as the location of the bedrooms.

Amazing location, Beautiful View and Fabulous House!!

We loved our stay here more than we can say. The house was really wonderful with the most breathtaking view. We were so impressed with how responsive the property management group was with our requests. Kitchen needs updated appliances, the pool light needs to be fixed for night swimming (which we did tons) and it could use more cleaning and kitchen supplies but otherwise it was great. It is so spacious for one large family or more. The location is very private and secluded. An amazing stay!

Reviewer Comments:
We have rented 9 homes in Hawaii in the past 4years, Baywatch is by far the least acceptable. Although the location and the house itself is wonderful, the cleanliness level and the quality of the amenities was very poor. The pool was very scummy and we could not use it for two days until it was treated and cleaned. The barbeque was filthy and out of gas, there is no carving knives and the bed in the master suite is way due for replacement. The air conditioning is non-functional and the fans in the living room did not all work.
Having said all that, the management team did exemplary work and one phone call produced an excellent response. Martin arrived promptly and took care of the gas issue(among others) and the pool man arrived within an hour and treated and cleaned the pool promptly. If the owners cared for their house as much as the management team does I think my review would be more favorable.
Our group of 7 all felt the same, when you spend this much you definely expect more than this place provided.

Living space large and inviting with an amazing view.

We were able to have Christmas dinner here with plenty of room to entertain family from Bellingham, Wa and our Kona family. The house is set up so that from everywhere on the property and in the house you see and hear the waves. We will return to this great property.

Reviewer Comments:
Baywatch was in a great location and the landscaping was beautiful. The house was very nice, however needs updating and a better cleaning company. We were pleased with the layout and wonderful views from the home, however the windows were very dirty and it was dusty inside since it probably hadn't been cleaned since the previous renters, whenever that was. We found food (pretzels, nuts and seeds) in the couch so we had to clean that ourselves to avoid unwanted guests. There was lizard feces on the walls and insects were able to get through a hole in the wall of the pantry going to outside. The carpet going upstairs and in the master suite desperately needs removal, it was unpleasant to walk on and felt unclean and gross. We used extra floor fans to help with cooling since there is no air conditioner, however did see a air return filter that was extremely dusty and should be changed out for the fan that was running, we turned it off. The master suite could also use a new mattress and pillows, I am not sure about the other rooms since we did not use them. I called the cleaning company and the lady was not very friendly or helpful. The cleaning fee was $400 and I thought that was encredibly high considering they did an average job and we did not use 3 of the bedrooms with baths. Overall the best thing about this home is the dead end road gives privacy and it has amazing views of the ocean and sunset. It's a nice distance from the tourist town, not too close, but not too far. We enjoyed our stay, but I'm not sure we would rent it again.
