I was born in Dingle and grew up there.
The Owner purchased this house in 2005
I have always loved Dingle. I had to move away for work but I try to get back as often as I can.
The house was built to my specification. It was designed and built to the highest standard and provides a most pleasant living experience.
There were 10 of us, ranging in age from 9 to 71, and everyone had a great time. None of us had been to Ireland, but after a week, we all were all proudly "part Irish." The house is walking distance to the town, which is filled with shops, pubs, and beach walks. The home owner is very friendly and accommodating. He also mentioned that there are more pictures of the house on his website. I tried to add it as a link, but vrbo took down my review when I did that. Anyway, our group gets together somewhere different every summer, and having a house within walking distance to all kinds of places was a true plus.
THIS HOME DEFINITELY MEASURED UP TO ITS EXPECTATIONS...I FELT LIKE I WAS HOME... MY FAMILY (13 OF US TO BE EXACT) RENTED THIS HOUSE FROM 7/18/14 THRU 7/26/14 AND WE HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIVES...IT WAS THE FIRST TIME TO IRELAND FOR ALL OF US AND I COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW BEAUTIFUL IT WAS THERE...IT WAS SO MUCH MORE SPECTACULAR THAN I EVER IMAGINED...I FELT VERY SAFE AND IT WAS SO QUIET AND COMFORTABLE.. IF I EVER HAVE THE GOOD FORTUNE OF GOING BACK TO IRELAND I WOULD DEFINITELY WANT TO STAY HERE AGAIN... JUST A VERY SHORT WALK INTO TOWN WHERE THERE ARE MULTIPLE PUBS, SHOPS, RESTAURANTS AND A GROCERY STORE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER WAS SO CONVENIENT... I AM MISSING IRELAND SO MUCH... AND I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK.. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY STAY IN THIS HOUSE AGAIN... VERY CONVENIENT, CLEAN, AND COMFY..THANK YOU SO MUCH JACK FOR A GREAT HOLIDAY VACATION... HOPE WE SEE YOU AGAIN SOME DAY...Kathy Courtney
We travelled Ireland for two weeks in mid July with our two year old daughter. While in Dingle we rented this wonderful home for four nights. From the moment I started to contact the homeowner I felt at ease, comfortable and confident in my decision regarding this rental property. Upon arrival I was not disappointed. Not only was the home extremely well cared for, clean, beautiful, comfortable, spacious and situated in a perfect location- the homeowner was equally as pleasant and charming. Connor Pass was the perfect location for us to walk into town, go for a run, relax, and drive to and form as we toured around the Dingle Peninsula and beyond. Without a doubt I would recommend Connor Pass to family, friends and travellers alike. Enjoy your time in Dingle & Connor Pass!!
I am typically a harsh critic but this place is a complete no brainer. If you want an outstanding vacation experience you cannot beat the combination of Dingle and this vacation home. It is strategically located. The Rings of Kerry and Dingle, beaches, and golf all right there. But most of all you are a mere few minutes walk from the best pubs, micro brews (Creans is outstanding and maybe a 100 yards down the road), restaurants and a grocery store all the while hanging with the locals! The property cannot be beat. All the appointments you can ask for as well as lots of beautiful bedrooms. We were three families with 10 vacationers total (ages 4 to 73) and it was very comfortable. The house has large spacious rooms, a great kitchen, TV service, lots of bathrooms it truly has it all. It also has a wonderful homey feel that is so hard to find.
The owner, Captain Jack, was probably the best owner I have ever dealt with and made the whole visit a pleasure. He was very responsive, flexible and easy going. He can tell you the best places to go, knows everyone and everyone surely knows him.
We have vacationed around the world and had many wonderful and terrible experiences. This place makes you come home feeling like you are Irish! Go now!!
This place was an excellent find. I was not responsible for making arrangements, but the person who was indicated that the owner was very responsive and easy to deal with. He was very friendly when we met him on arrival and departure.
The house itself was great, the location was especially awesome, walking distance to all the downtown Dingle attractions which is definitely important during high season as parking is not at all easy to come by in most areas. From a distance we got to watch sheep being herded on the hill in front of the house 2 mornings in a row (watch around 9:30 am, it was a Sunday and Monday when we saw it, very cool to see), there were chickens that visited from the property next door, and 3 horses kept in the pasture right next to the house, all of which I felt added to the Irish experience.
The house is very modern and well appointed, particularly the kitchen. The bedrooms were good size and the beds were very comfortable. Although the house does have only 4 bedrooms, I can see how it could easily sleep 12 people - one room has a double bed plus a cot, one has 2 double beds, one has a double and a twin, only one has just one double bed. Probably the best thing was that each bedroom had its own bathroom. No one ever had to wait for a shower and as long as the hot water heater was turned on each night, we never ran out of hot water in the morning no matter how many people showered at once. Utilities are extra but averaged only about 10 euros per guest for us and we used the heat several days and showered pretty frequently.
My only suggestion would be to offer some kind of internet access, but for some people the lack of access to that sort of thing would be considered a blessing. I would not hesitate to recommend this house to future travellers and would certainly stay again if I ever make it back to that area, which I certainly hope to do!
The location of this rental is perfect. Easy walk into the village of Dingle and a great base for day trips. The house was clean and in great condition. The owner was great, very helpful and pleasant. During our week long visit to the Dingle area we visited Blarney Castle, the Great Balsket Islands (an amazing experience), a day in Tralee via the Conner Pass was breath taking! Also, a nice drive on Inch beach. Our first morning at the house as we sat drinking our coffee we watched sheep dogs at work out the window. Truly wonderful! I am in love with Ireland!
