Sandpoint House Rental Photos and Description

1 Bedroom, 2 baths, sleeps 2

If you are looking for a romantic getaway with total privacy, and an inspirational and renewing escape look no further. This retreat is about experiencing a love affair, whether with Source, significant other or self. Rest, renew and reflect in the expanse of nature. This intimate 1400 sq. ft. cliffside home is built on mountainside rock overlooking Creation's back yard. View nothing but water, mountains and the animals that make it their home.

When it comes to views size matters! The views are jaw dropping. Nature envelopes you. Watch eagles and osprey compete for food as you lounge in the hot tub or deck. Hear the cry of a loon. Watch sunsets from the comfort of the outdoor fire pit on an infinity deck that gives you a birds eye view of this nature retreat. Wake up and go to sleep to the most inspirational setting you could wish for. While there are a host of activities and attractions nearby you may never want to leave the premises for after doing nothing all day you may want to rest afterwards!

This is an owner's private home, not a rental. This artistic and eco friendly home has all of the amenities with which to pamper yourself. Enjoy the hot tub just steps off the master suite, separate bathrooms, TV and a fully stocked gourmet kitchen. A great room with fireplace adjoins the kitchen and a spacious master suite with fireplace all overlook the water and mountains providing an intimate experience with nature. This home was built with love, crafted by an artist/designer and inspired by Spirit.

This isn't a rental, this is an experience.

Near Nature near perfect: Forest Service and mountains are what's behind this home and water and mountains are in front. Minutes from your door you can hike, mountain bike, kayak, boat, and swim. There are two places to moor your boat and a place to put in directly below the house. Spend days exploring and enjoying the Best small town in the US per Rand McNaley. Visit Schweitzer Mtn Ski Resort, Silverwood Water Park or take a road trip and explore the scenic highways that take you to Montana and back. There's no lack of recreational activity outside your door though frankly once you are here you may not wish to leave the premises.

About Owner

Our meeting was a gift from God. There's no other way to explain how we met. Both avid outdoorspeople and reclusives, we created a love nest that reflects our tastes: private, surrounded by nature, user/eco friendly, and a place that is both inspiring and healing. Our intention is to pass on the blessings that this home has given so generously to us.

Owner purchased this house in 1997

Why Owner chose Sandpoint

This is a Soul House. Words don't do this home justice. It is experienced by the heart. Situated on a cliff, the view let's you experience a cloud's ledge perspective. Nearly all rooms look out on the view. You are totally private, whether in the garden area, the deck or inside.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here at the Lover's Getaway. It was everything I could have hoped for. The view is amazing, the home so cozy. We spent most of our time cooking and hanging out on the deck. We were lucky enough to watch some lightening storms 2 nights in a row. What a show! Also loved the show the birds put on. The park down the road was just right for a swim. This was the perfect place for our honeymoon. We didn't want to go home. We plan on being back next year.

Connect with your lover

  • 5 of 5

Well deserving of it's Lover's Getaway moniker, this retreat was wonderful. We were treated to a kaleidoscope of views, with the lake and mountains as a backdrop. The layout is perfect for lovers to connect, with the location offering the optionality of exploring and hiking and a communion with nature.

We will return

Wonderful! Marvelous!

The most awesome cabin experience in my lifetime. Words cannot describe the beauty and warmth of this magical escape. We decided to extend our stay! We literally did not want to leave. The hospitality can match any 5 star hotel and Ginny is a treasure trove of information. Do yourself a favor and book this cabin! You will be happy that you did.

Owner's Response: Well, dear one, we thank you for your gracious review. Winter season is our personal favorite as it's a quiet time on the mountain but the views are oh so active between the eagles, animals and sunsets. We look forward to your return. Till we meet again, Jnell, Jack and Ginny

The hospitality is amazing.

We arrived Friday night in the dark. When we arrived in the home we were welcomed to a warm fire and beautiful fall decor. On the counter was a lovely note explaining a few things and a number to get a virtual tour from Ginny. The hospitality that comes with this stay is hard to beat! Chilled wine and glasses in the refrigerator to frosted mugs in the freezer. It gave us the time away from the hustle and bustle of our life and a chance to remember "us". Sure you can find other places but none come with the essence of love this home provides. Thanks for the time!

Loved our stay. We'll be back!

This home is astounding! The open floor plan and the view make it a place to come back to! In the morning it feels like you are waking up in a tree house surrounded by nature and a spectacular view of the lake. The kitchen is well stocked making it easy to prepare meals. Trust me, you will want to do this as you won't want to leave. You can hike part or all the way up the mountain and then relax on the expansive deck, followed by a hot tub. This is a retreat for both the body and the soul :-) Loved our stay. Thank you!

Wonderful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Yes there are trains....everywhere in the Sandpoint area...it does add to the charm after you get over the fright of them in the wee hours! LOL that was hilarious on our first night!

The home is well equipped and certainly as others have commented the pictures are not accurate as you must experience it, you cannot possibly capture the beauty, serenity or experience in a photograph. We were not disappointed with the home, the Garden of Eagen, the lake views which we said goodnight and good morning too.

Thoughtful touches abounded during our stay from a stocked pantry and spice drawer(s), to fresh flowers, binoculars, hot tub, gas out door fireplace, robes, chilled wine on our arrival and the list goes on. Worth noting is how wonderful the bed is, it certainly made for a great week having a good quality bed to sleep on!

The area has endless beauty, and so under populated! Trails were never crowded. The lake was beautiful, the hikes beautiful.

Our fur babies were able to join us and they enjoyed sunning themselves on the deck or watching the lake/birds and of course alerting us to the pika's or squirrels! We relaxed as we have never done before.

Certainly the information book is bang on! The Ice House pizza is some of the best pizza we have had! The pantry is Clark Fork was divine! The people everywhere were so friendly. Oh and for this who have dogs, the dog park in Ponderay is simply refreshing as a place for a safe run! Not to mention in Sandpoint the Dog Park Beach - how amazing for a community to embrace the four legged family members!

We loved it all. thank you to Ginny for being so well informed and thorough on our arrival. thank you to Jack and J'nell for sharing your little oasis with our family! xoxoxo

Owner's Response: Thank you Melody for your gracious review and for mentioning the trains. We don't want there to be any surprises - except for the good ones! So glad you discovered the dog friendly areas. Being able to have our fur children accompany us on a vacation is a necessity for some of us. Here's looking forward to seeing you all next year. Heaven on Earth!

  • 5 of 5

We have given ourselves the gift of this getaway 4 times and just scheduled our 5th. Every year we plan a week to lose ourselves in the beauty, scenery, and the surroundings of this magical place. The "cabin" is not really a "cabin", but a luxuriously peaceful space and our home away from home.

We only gave it 5 stars because they don't list 6 as an option.

We so look forward to our next visit...

Teresa and Mark W.
